PLEASE HELP GUYS!!!

i have the 9800, just bought it because im roughly aware of what it has to offer as far as features. i've read the manual cover to cover. i just wanna know what advantages i have with it and any tips on how to use it effeciently and advantageously. i'd really appreciate anyone's help, i'm sure everyone at one time or another wanted the same kind of help. i'm interested in mini sd function of it and the mp3/ringtone aspect of it. i have mid. ringtones that i've created off audacity, i'm just wondering how to put it on the card so it'll play as a ringtone on my fone. hopefully someone understands. replies would be greatly appreciated... 😉

bitpim, bluetooth reprise

I’ve tried sorting through the posts on this subject and still don’t have a clear understanding, perhaps you all can help. I would like to get some contacts but most importantly my PCs Outlook calendar into the vx 9800. I have been able to successfully pair the vx9800 with the bluetooth on my PC. I then installed the “vx 9800 compatable” version of bitpim. In the settings menu I chose vx 9800 and com port set to auto detect. Then I would go to the detect phone option in bitpim and received error message no phone detected recognized. I then tried switching com ports manually all to no avail.
1) Some posters say you don’t use detect phone at all but instead use get phone data via the file system (could someone explain this)
2) Other...

Just in time for Christmas a FROZEN 9800!!!

Have had this phone for nine days and so far it has crashed and frozen twice. Once while browsing V'zon's ringtone service, and just now while watching a 50meg clip on the card. The first time, I was able to resolve the problem by just removing the battery. Now ....... nothing. It's stuck on the Verizon start-up screen.

I hadn't noticed anyone mentioning it here, but apparently I'm not the only one having this problem......

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=3b2dc12 ... »

Am headed back to the store to swap it out tomorrow but just wanted to post this in case anyone else had the same problem.

Other than the fact that I can't work the darned thing right now I LOVE this phone! 😁

wireless sync questions

I was reading the verizon wireless sync info on there web page and have a few questions.

1. Can you use the wireless sync under lots to acess and utilize your calander, email and todo list?? It appears so, but want to make sure.
2. Can you set up 2 wireless sync programs. IE we also use outlook at work. So could I set up one for Lotus notes and 1 for outlook under the same 19.99 per month account.

thanks for any help in this matter.

V-Cast + Mobile Web 2 vs. Mobile Web 2 alone

Hi, My question doesn't concern the fee but it is about performance and download speed alone.

Does Mobile Web 2, perform any differently with or without V-Cast option?

FYI, Mobile Web can be had for $5/mnt, but it uses call time minutes, V-Cast for $15 includes unlimited Mobile Web too.

Thanks, S

Just picked up the 9800

Trying to play around with it, but I think I am going to take it back.

Here's why:

1. Bluetooth. I thought I would be able to use bluetooth with my computer with this phone, so far I can't figure out how to do it.

2. Font on screen is way to small. I can barely read anything.

3. I bought a carrying case for it because I didn't want to break it, but the carrying case doesn't even allow you to use the phone while it's in the case, it seems like messing around with taking it out of the case all the time is going to break it.

4. The Qwerty keyboard is to long, but you can probably get used to this.

5. Ring Tones? MP3's? Where are they? How do I get them on my phone? Do I need to buy a seperate mini SD?

6. Why didn...

email on vcast vs wireless sync

Despite the countless conflicting reports...you can receive your pop email via Vcast. It's $5 cheaper than wireless sync, and although a little more annoying to do, it's worth it considering you get all the vcast stuff with it. When you log into mobile web...click email...and skip right past the aol, yahoo, msn junk by clicking more...then i believe it's called Mail2WAP...type in yur email and password...and there ya have it...now, can anyone tell me how to open up the video camera?

8000 to 9800

I just recently switched back from my 8100 to my 8000 because reception and many other reasons are why I went back to my 8000. I am a bit confused, should I keep my 8000 or should I get the 9800. I like the fact that you can send ringtones to the 8000 and set them as your ringtone. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you can do that with the 9800.

Anyway anyone have any advice. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

>> Using BitPim

Okay, I know there have been many threads on this.. but I do not want to mess up my phone. I have ringers made and on my computer already. I have BitPim and I have selected the 9800 as my phone. What I need to know how to do is add the ringers to my phone through BitPim at the safest way possible. Knowing how to do wallpapers that actually take up the whole screen would be nice too. When I take pix with the camera on the phone I can't seem to get them to take up the whole screen, there's always white space.. so any help on that would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.
