motorola v3m or lg vx8300
I just put up a thread for comparison with the e815 and the vx8300 to see which is better and so far it seems the people have chosen the 8300. And now I have recently received information that the v3m is also one of the best. For anyone who has used theses phones please give me the real deal on the true "great" phone.

Bluetooth
How is the Bluetooth? Does it stay connected to with the headset? I have an 8100 and after the 1st VZW update, it would only stay connected to the Jabra. My Scala, which worked flawlessly. would not stay connected. Moto 850 and Bluetrek G2 also lose connection.

LG8300 Battery & First Impressions
WOOHOO!! 😁 I finally got it (ordered online and it came within 1 business day!!). Immediate impression:
- Looks & feels fantastic. Sleek, professional, nice color. Fits in hand well and keypad is good.
- One thing (NOT at all important): The little piece that you have to take off to charge the phone is sure to get lost! Should've been made to stay on or don't put it there at all.
I called CS to find out about charging and they said to initally charge fully for 8 hrs and then use the phone and allow to discharge fully. Then re-charge it again to have the phone save to it's memory.
My question: How long/often should you charge? I've also know you can't keep the phone on the charger more than maybe 4 hrs a day or you'll...

8300 vs 6100
I have had the lg 6100 for almost 2 years
without any major problems.
My question is the 8300 a better phone
than the 6100. I do not care for the music..
video..etc.
My interest is reception and performace
making/recieving calls.
Thanks in advance.

for people with both the 8300 and e815, which gets the better overall rating?
I've seen many many reviews and comparisons with these 2 phones, And there doesn't seem to be one clear winner. Many people say the 815 has the best reception which I really care for but there are many complaints about the charger, the soft vibratons and freezing which I also care for but not as much. I'm leaning toward the 8300 because I'm going to buy the phone without a plan so I cannot just easily return it. Whatever is choose is pretty much final. For anyone who has both or has used both for more than a week, is this a good choice?

Request for locations with 'poor reception'
Since some folks report poor reception while others report excellent RF I'd like to start a thread asking JUST the people with perceived POOR reception WHERE they are located. City and state please. Thanks!

Question for those using BT
I LOVE this phone, but I noticed that with all the BT headsets I use with it that if I haven't made/recieved a call in a little while that the BT will disconnect even though the phone never leaves my pocket. I have to press the button on my headset to get it to reconnect. Sometimes I won't notice until I get a call and the phones ringing but the headset didn't beep, then look only to see it's no longer connected. Other times I hear a beep in the headset and look to see it has disconnected. Anyone else have this happen?

For Mary ( or anyone, I guess) - BitPim question
Mary,
Would you mind telling me what version of Bitpim you have? Have you done an upgrade recently? I have v 0.9.02. However, when I did the upgrade I kept getting .dll file error messages. I am not sure I truly got all the upgrade. Any features, other than "about", that would confirm I have the upgrade?
Thanks.

Link 3rd caller?
I have this phone and like it so far. One thing that my old Motorola had was the ability to link in a 3rd caller and have a 3-way conversation. Is there a way to do this on the 8300??

Clock on outer display
I played around with this phone in the Verizon store tonight. Still can't make up my mind as to whether I want this phone or not. One thing I noticed was that once the flip is opened the outer screen goes dark immediately and you can't illuminate it again while on a call. The side buttons raise and lower the volume. If the phone is closed and not in use these same buttons will light up the window again. I like being able to see the time on the outer screen like the 6100 I have. Anyone who has this phone know if you can light the outer screen up while talking on the phone?

Got The 8300 Yesterday
Actually, we got two - and I'll wait for a week or so before posting a review; however, my initial impression is that the phone does everything I would want it to do (for a phone). The camera and music were just extras for me - couldn't care less about the music (since I jog with my Sirius portable) and the camera is nice to have (but isn't a mandatory feature). Anyway, we are new to Verizon (and obviously this phone) - but this phone has great reception (and where I live in Las Vegas isn't always great for cellular reception) and great voice calrity and loudness.
PS Thanks to everyone for their thoughts - which was the encouragement we needed to head to this phone and Verizon (I discounted the negative feedback I saw on here figuring...

Will there be a 2 gig micro sd card?
speakerphone and ringtones
Ok i figured out how to get ringtones on to my phone..if you want high quality, send a wave file or a mp3 (make sure its trimmed down to 30 sec) using any web email to (your cell number area code first)@vzwpix.com. When your phone recieves the song, just go to the messege and save the song as your ringtone..thats it!
One other thing...I have a question..Is the speakerphone supposed to be distorted at the higher volume levels? I'm having this problem and i was wondering if I should exchange my phone or just deal with it

Should I wait to buy
I like the new LG 8300. My question is....
should I wait to make certain the 8300
is free of any bugs?
I had the LG 6100 which came with some
bugs at first.
