4th Generation

I'm down here in South Texas, and I found out through one of Sprint's "big wigs" that 4th generation will not be lanched till 2009. Not too sure if it's early, mid, or late 2009. I know there's alot of bugs with the Hybrib phones. iDen works great, but it's the CDMA side of the Hybrid phone that isn't working right. I know Sprint just merged with Nextel Partners ( Rio Grande Valley, Tx. ). Hopefully Sprint will get everything straight.

Interesting EVDO roaming question (Nextel18)

Okay so, I know this is gonna come as a shocker to all of you, but I am from Lynchburg, VA. In this area we are not going to be getting EVDO on the cell sites here w/ sprint for a long time, b/c the cell sites are owned by a mom and pop shop called Ntelos and they are lucky to invest $10 in their network. But Alltel here locally is about to launch EVDO, and if I force my phone to roam it picks up Alltel service. Plus back in May Sprint and Alltel made an EVDO roaming agreement. When I force my phone to roam, it says when I click on the Web, this service is unavailable while roaming. EVDO has not yet been launched w/ Alltel but will be in the next month. When this occurs, will I be able to pick up the EVDO service w/out switching my phone to ...

Need help putting music on my KRZR from my PC

Ok, lets start...

I bought a Micro-SD USB adapter for my computer (put Micro-SD card into the adapter, then plug adapter into PC Via USB port)

Well i did this and i opened the External Hardware folder in "My Computer", and in that folder there were a few sub-folders. On said "Motorola", the other said "music". So i opened the music folder, and in that folder was a Windows Media file (it was a windows media file because windows media player is my default) that was called "All My Music". Now when the micro-SD card is in the phone and i go to my music player, "all my music" is where all your music is stored (duhhh). So my problem is i dont know what to do, because when i put an MP3 from my PC into the music folder, it didnt show up in "...

Overseas Imports (Unlocked & Activated)

Forgive my ignorance on this topic, but how does one go about activating a foreign cell phone purchased from a website like WirelessImports.com? According to that site, the phones for sale are already unlocked and compatible with certain US carriers. But, as a Sprint employee, I know that we're almost always unable to register or activate foreign ESNs. Assuming that the website is accurate and we ARE, somehow, able to activate without any major issues, what about plans and services? Would a foreign phone support the Sprint power vision network, Sprint music store, Sprint TV, etc.? What exactly am I missing here?

I am, like I said, employed by Sprint (read: I am pretty familiar with the wireless industry in general) so feel free to ...

Forsee doesn't disagree that Sprint dropped the ball

RESTON, Va. — "I used to be 6-5," quips Sprint (S) CEO Gary Forsee, trying to muster a smile. "I shrank a few inches over the past year."

Forsee hasn't actually lost any height off his 6-foot-2 frame, but he is clearly feeling pressed.

Since his Sprint-Nextel merger closed a year ago, Forsee, 56, has been struggling with a riptide of technical, financial, operational and cultural problems. This perfect storm, as he calls it, has been calamitous for the combined Sprint Nextel.

The numbers tell the story. In the third quarter ended Sept. 30, Sprint added just 233,000 customers, including those getting prepaid phones. The reed-thin net gain included the loss of 188,000 regular subscribers, a feat unheard of in today's go-go wireless i...

Just a reminder

For all the ppl who still like to bash on sprint, here is a little bit of info on what we have done and what we are planning to do in the upcoming years as far as service goes:

Coverage/Networks

We are making great strides to ensure the power of our CDMA, iDEN and IP networks are second-to-none.

Network Enhancement: We have dedicated $7 billion to network enhancements in 2006.

Nextel National Network: We are investing more than $2 billion into the Nextel National Network and adding more than 1,600 new cell sites to expand coverage and increase capacity across the country.

The Nextel National Network will have a prominent place in Sprint Nextel through 2012 and beyond.

We are now rolling out the first of several hybrid ...

Whose MADD?WTF Treo700 was $650 Treo680 $199???

Its not fair Verizon and Sprint sold the treo 700 for Around $650 making it a high end luxury phone Business. Now cingular is selling it for just 200 marketed for kids. And the worst part is they do the Exact same thing. There goes Treo from high end to everyone has one like the razr now.

MY SPRINT REVIEW

I purchased a pc card and unlimited data plan (just for my first 30 days). I was very skeptical about signing up with Sprint because of a bad past experience but now I can see that I made the right choice. Coverage and signal strength with my Pantech pc card has been great. The speed is great also and I think I got the best value. I am a Cingular customer but chose to give Sprint a try and I do not regret my decision. For one, Sprint has a better price. At my 39.99 price point, I get 40MB but with Cingular they only offer 20MB. For two, Sprint has more areas covered, even in little old Bryan/College Station where I spend my holidays. VZW was not even an option because of the restricted use of the unlimited plan plus when I had VZW 8 ...

Okay 1 point to VZW Current score: Sprint 9,727,380 Verizon 6

So I am super jealous that VZW is getting the YouTube contract. Anyone know if Sprint is even in talks with YouTube. I am super loyal to Sprint. Worked for Verizon and kept a Sprint phone if that tells you anything. So it is a limited release, w/ limited video access.

I want my YouTube vids. A MySpace app. would be cool.

Has the PDA industry come to a STAND STILL?

Can someone please explain to me why there have been no advances in PDA technology since 2004 when the 650 came out? EVDO isnt that big of a deal especially since it isnt that fast. Increasing Mega pixels with no FLASH? whats up with that?
