Samsung Moment Battery issues

I just got my cl14 update on friday...it stated that this would help with the battery and GPS. It did help the GPS performance, but I can't see any better performance with the battery...Is anyone else experiencing the same battery issues? mine will only last about 4 hours with normal usage, with wifi and gps turned off, however I do have Open Home installed and I am using 5 home screens, could they be using that much power??

Sprint Picture Mail. pictures.sprintpcs.com

Does anyone know if Sprint is going to discontinue there picture mail anytime soon? I have noticed that a lot of the new phones do not have a option to upload to the sprint picture mail site nor do they have the option to even view your online pictures via a link on the phone! One of my new phones the Lotus Elete for example does not have the options. I have had sprint picture mail from the time it began back in 2002 with the sanyo 5300. On another note.... will Sprint and VZN have a live streaming video service like AT&T, the only US provider able to offer this service. I got a line with AT&T just for this service and it really works well in my area!!

Palm Pre or Blackberry Tour/Curve?

Hey everyone, hoping for some solid advice. I renewed my sprint plan back in March and picked up the Samsung Instinct. Well in a nutshell, I hate it and it is driving me nuts. I could go on, but let's get to the meat of my question.

I'm considering picking up a new or slightly used Palm Pre or Blackberry Tour or Curve off of ebay. Which would you think might be better suited for my needs and which is a more stable and solid phone? I mostly use my phone for texting, a few emails and I also like to go online mostly to check facebook/fantasy football and occasionally watch something on NFL Network.

Any and all input would be much appreciated before I drop $$ on another phone.

Thank you!

Wimax 2 120 Mbit/s downlink and 60 Mbit/s

Boy Genius Report is reporting that

IEEE is expected to approve the 802.16m mobile WiMAX standard, also known as WiMAX 2, this summer. Under laboratory conditions, WiMAX 2 can deliver a blazing 120Mbit/s down and 60Mbit/s up when using 4×2 MIMO antennas on a 20MHz-wide channel. In practical terms, WiMAX 2 will approximately double the speed of the current WiMAX technology. In an interview with Unstrung, Clearwire’s CTO John Saw said that Clearwire is going to review the new 802.16m standard but will not immediately adopt it. The wireless broadband company could begin testing WiMAX 2 sometime in 2011, with commercial deployment possible in 2012. Depending on the 4G market in 2010, though, customers may never see 802.16m hit their W...

Wi Max voice?

Hi everyone,

A couple of questions regarding the future. It's my understanding that when Sprint fully transitions to WiMax they will use Voip for voice. My question is, With all of the the other major carriers going to LTE, what will we Sprint customers do when we're out of our native coverage?

I don't believe we will be able to roam off LTE networks. Anyone have any insights? I'm sure the answers will be obvious 3-4 years from now. Also, will LTE require the use of SIM cards?

Thanks.

Palm Pixi or blackberry

I have the palm pixi right now, but I am debating whether or not i should get a Blackberry tour or The new purple blackberry curve? or just stay with my palm pixi alltogether?

I know how to use both blackberry and palm phones. so its not whether or not whats easier to use. just a better phone overall.

Sprint and T-mobile

these two companies are the only two I will recommend to family, friends, anybody. why well guess what I do not like how Verizon and AT&T do business. they are completely overpriced and need to have a little more competition to bring them to realistic numbers. I think that everyone out there needs to know that Sprint and T-Mobile do an absolutely great job on their plans, the phones they offer, and most of all customer service.

Can you tell if its a refurb?

Is there any way to tell if you have a refurbished phone? Are the reps required to tell you that a refurb phone was sent?

Any Advice for a New Employee?

I was just hired on by an indirect Sprint dealer as a store manager. Any Sprint employees, managers or otherwise, have advice for a new employee?

I used to manage several indirect Alltel agent stores so I'm familiar with the cellphone game.

Sprint and Roaming?

I am a huge fan of sprint and have been with them for a very long time. Now they are doing away with the forced roam or roam only function on all their phones I am being forced to look for solutions. I have a Sanyo Katana DLX and love the phone. I can force it to roam on my camping and fishing trips every weekend and still get service. I just got a new Samsung Moment Android phone and never could get the phone to roam. The new phone thought I was in a usable sprint service area when it was not enough service to do anything with. I had no way to put it on roam to call out or receive calls. I have used my old phone in this area several times easily with the forced roam option. I ended up returning it and re activating my old Katana. I asked sp...

Curve 8530 vs. HTC Hero

I am elgible for an upgrade and currently have a BB 8330. I have been having problems with my current phone and have been looking at upgrading.

I use my BB for a small business I operate and like the full QWERTY keyword on it. I went to the store and tried the Hero and I seem to like it, and think I can get used to the touchscreen, but I was hoping for some real world opinions on the 2 models I am considering.

Or are there any other options I should consider?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I need advice...

I have had the Blackberry 8130 for a while now. I am eligible to upgrade. I check on here and everywhere about Sprint to see what things are happening. I am trying to determine what phone I want. I have another BB thru work, it's the 8520. I like the size of the pearl better and I kind of want to check out android with my personal phone.

I have been waiting for a while now but I can't wait much longer. My 8130 is running slower and slower and I really have been obsessing over the HTC Hero.

What are your thoughts? Anything new coming out or so within the next month that might be better? Is the price going to change? I have messed with this phone often in stores and like it. I am off work tomorrow so I would like to go and pick out a pho...

Exchanging phone ?

I am planning on returning my Blackberry 8530 for the Palm Pre. I purchased the BB on the day it was released through Sprint.com, so I'm still in my 30 day window. The problem I am having is where can I return it to do the exchange? I was told in two local Sprint stores that it would have to be done over the phone through customer service. But the customer service reps told me no, it could be done through my local store.

Anyone here able to help me out. Can I go the store route or should I just exchange over the phone? TIA
