BE CAREFUL IF YOU WORK FOR USCC

I will not go into too much detail., but I will tell you that the CULTURE SURVEY IS A CROCK.
I have watched so many leaders that were good now gone because they were honest and told the truth in the skip level meetings. If you want to keep your job, just say everything is fine. If you raise any conflict concerns with your managers, they will label you

US Cellular Customer Service Help Desk

I am a customer service rep for US Cellular who made the switch from at&t. I must say that the agents in our Customer Service. Help Desk are top notch! Every call that I have made to that team has been a positive experience. Not only do they tell me what I need to do, they tell me how. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. If you are a part of our Help Desk Team then you rock! My hat goes off to you. Keep up the great work! 😁

"FCC mandated" phone upgrade to GPS-capable phone

I am surprised no one else has mentioned this yet... but I think US Cellular is trying to pull something here to trick their customers.

Quick version of the story:
- Many USCC customers got a letter last week saying that they are "required to upgrade" their phones to GPS-capable phones, or you will "be charged a substantial monthly fee".
- They said the reason for this is because of a few FCC requirement.
- I talked to someone at the FCC today, and they said that there is no requirement for people to upgrade their phones, only for the network to support the GPS features.
- USCC said that special pricing was available for this upgrade, but the prices are the same as you would always be able to get by signing a two-year contract.

I r...

for those rwcs thinking about leaving USCC for ATT... ( a rant)

...or vice versa

just felt like giving a little insight to the differences in compensation and operations for the two carriers.

I wont go into specifics but here are some generalities.

examples based on the following which are very attainable monthly results depending on location and hours worked etc.

35 new lines
35 renewals/upgrades
$1500 in verticals/feature additions
$3000 in accessory sales

aprox earned commision:

ATT $1300
USCC $3000

the hourly pay at ATT is just a bit more and the medical benefits cost far less there, but they don't make up for the glaring difference in commission sales

also my experiences in scheduling:

USCC full timers usually get every other weekend off and still hit those numbers

"Forced" to upgrade service?

I am up for new equipment ( 3 phones) and to my suprise, I can't keep my current plan. The customer service rep was very nice about it,but informed me that the plan I have is old and the new ones make you pay extra for the free incoming calls..... not good.
Is there any way to get my contract renewed with new phones w/o changing plans? Maybe something the customer rep doesn't know about?
Thanks

Picture Messaging To phone

I do not have a picture messaging plan, in case that matters.

But when my friends send me a picture message I don't actually get the picture. I just get that stupid text message that says "Your friend sent you a picture go to messaing.uscellular.com and enter this code..."
I know the website isn't right, but it's been a while since I've gotten one.
But I really don't like that, I wish I could actually get the pictures on my phone. Why is USCC doing this to us?

I hope a change is in the works by 2010...somewhat "long" rant...

Don’t' mind me I'm just another "thinker" or something.
Believe me I am HAPPY with U.S. Cellular.
I have been with 4 wireless companies: Nextel (before they were Sprint/Nextel), GTE Wireless (before they were Verizon), I-Wireless (a division of T-Mobile) and now U.S. Cellular.
In my opinion, USCC has the best coverage I have experienced and the best customer service among the other 3.
Like I said though I was with Nextel and GTE Wireless before they became who they are now. It is highly likely that those other 2 companies changed since the mergers/takeovers but if it is for the better I won't know that. I-Wireless is just plain crap though.
I'm sure a lot of you have NEVER heard of I-Wireless and you might not ever hear of them...

Can someone explain this one? LMFAO!

Okay I transferred 3 phone lines about 3 weeks ago. Those phones keep getting text messages and such.
This LAST billing cycle I was stuck with a $3000 bill yes that’s right THREE THOUSAND! I’m not mad at all because they took care of it because it was in their error.
Here is my BEST guess and MAYBE someone can expound/clarify/explain this.
2 Phones were switched from RAZRS to Q’s so we needed the unlimited data package.
If you haven’t guessed yes those EXTRA charges were for easyedge.
Did or are my RAZRS somehow still in the USCC system and if so why the hell are they still listed as active and pulling charges?
I am going to ask USCC but I wanted to see if someone on here has had this problem and new why this ââ‚...

How to activate call forwarding?

I just signed up for the "SimulScribe" service, converts voicemail to text and emails/texts it to you.

In order to use the service I need to set my unavailable forwarding number to a phone number SimulScribe gave me.

I have a US Cellular Blackberry 8703e.

Anyone able to provide some insight?

Thanks,
Will

Fate of USCC TDMA network

With AT&T's official mass TDMA shutdown occuring in Feburary, has anyone heard of what are the current plans for USCC's TDMA network? I haven't heard anything on what is its future.

USCC is the second largest TDMA provider in the United States after AT&T. I am pretty sure that with AT&T's acquisition of Dobson, the Dobson TDMA network is also planned to be shut down. SunCom shut down their TDMA network over a year ago, so T-Mobile doesn't have to worry about integrating TDMA users.
