VZW to start offering Month to Month contracts.

As of 9/21/08 The Big Red (Verizon Wireless) is gonna be offering customers who buy Full Retail or use their own equipment no contract plans. These customers will be offered the same line up of plans and features as contractual customers. This is definatly gonna change the industry and customers should be very happy. Now there is no excuse that you have to always sign a contract. Just fork up the money and you will be contract free. You heard it here first.

Nuisance calls!!!

Just wanted to share!

Effective 09/21/08 customer service reps will have the ability to block up to 5 10-digit #s per MTN (at no charge).

This is not available for customers enrolled in Usage Controls.

I LOVE VZW!! (kinda long story)

I would never have considered myself a "fanboy" (or fangirl...) for any carrier, because I know that they all have their pros and cons and it's all about what works for you where you're at. However. I just found out something ridiculously awesome about VZW that I did not know before, and that I don't think any other carrier is doing.

So, I called 611 from my enV2 to ask about an ESN I got off eBay to make sure that the Pearl I wanted to buy from there was clean. (see, I knew that I just got my enV2 in April and am not even close to an upgrade, and while I was fine with paying for it, I just didn't have $400 right now, so I thought I'd try eBay). The lady I talked to was extremely sweet and asked why I wanted to check the esn. I told her w...

Verizon Wireless Usage Controls

Sales rep at store told me I could control kids usage by paying an additional 5 dollars a month. I set the kid up to use 300 minutes. I was surprised when the kid could still use the phone after surpassing the 300 minutes. Seems the rep at the store was very wrong. The 5 dollars allows you to set a limit and if it is surpassed you get the all power text message telling you the kid went past the minutes. BIG DEAL! The usage controls work good against text messaging which makes no sense because text messaging is affordable. Going over your plans minutes is not affordable. Now I am faced with taking the phone away from the kid again because a sales rep either didn't know the product or would say anything to get me to add a line to the a...

Why isn"t the Storm on the Rim lineup??

The ATT Bold is due to release about the same time as the Verizon Storm- RIM has it on thier website, Phonescoop has the specs, etc here; but no info on the Storm, which is supposed to be released in about the same time frame.

So far all I am hearing about the Storm is hearsay and innuendo ๐Ÿ˜•

Verizon vs Sprint in NJ

Anyone here have had both services in the past year in NJ? I have been with Verizon forever, but thinking about switching to sprint for the Touch Diamond along with awesome priceplan savings and features ($129 for family plan on 2 phones with data on both phones, as well as unlimited Text, Pics, TV, and music downloads from Sprint Music site). Currently my verizon family plan of 2 phones is totaling $179 ($89 for 1400 min and $90 for 2 data plans) plus I dont get unlimited text, pics, muisic and tv. That would propbably run me another $40.

Dont get me wrong, I think Verizon's service is the best in the nation (hands down). But am I going to get that much worse service if I switch to Sprint (both on CDMA) and save $50 - $90 a month? Is it ...

Thinking about switching to Verizon (long story...)

Ok here it is, a bit of a back story so that I can get some honest opinions.

I am sure many people have posted on this topic, but I need some serious advice. I have had AT&T for many years and I loved the service, etc. etc. However, I live in a small population area and at the time AT&T were the only thing in town (literally). I have the iPhone 3G and I have other phones as well but the service here is just horrible. We register reception, but calls drop constantly and I do not want to bad mouth the company because I know they do what they think is best about coverage. The thing that gets me is that I want something that WORKS. Verizon gets decent reception here as my inlaws were here yesterday and they could call out. I was on a call wi...

a few questions about Verizon Pearl

So...I had the Pearl (which i loved!) with Sprint (which I hated), and when I changed to VZW, I got the EnV2, thinking that would suffice for me, since all I did was text anyway...wrong! I missed the threaded sms. A lot. And the organizational tools of the BB. Anyway, I have a couple questions about the Verizon version before I take the plunge and pay $400 full retail for it, and increase my price plan about $30/mo...

1) I love that when you text from a VZW phone to another VZW phone, you can have text messages longer than 160 characters. Is this still true with the BB Pearl?

2) I also love that you get a message delivery receipt (the little check next to a sent message) to tell you if the other person has received it. Can the Pearl st...
