Employee Benefits

Hey guys, I have a question for the employees. My stint with Comcast has been less that desirable and I really do miss the wireless industry. I had a question regarding the health benefits for VZW, because even though Communistcast is a pretty crappy company they do have great benefits.

Any information or insight relating to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

funny alltel story

Guys I thought you might get a kick out of this. I walked into our alltel corp. store today because my son went into gamestop. I guess we both have our toys. As soon as the manager saw me he ran up to me all excited and said we are getting a Iphone. I was shocked and said no you are not and he said yes made by blackberry. So I told him it was not a Iphone. I just thought it was funny. In this guys defense he knows I buy ton of phones and he knows I dont mind buying in mid contract. I will most likely buy this phone the moment the merger goes through. Lucky for me I am currently out of contract and will get a rebate for the first time in 2 phones. Now if we can just convince the alltel staff that we are luck this is a blackberry and not a Ip...

Samsung Glyde Question

I originally wanted the Dare, and then i dropped down to the Voyager, and now i'm down to the Glyde. I'm up for renewal, and with all the discounts the Glyde would be $30 online whereas the Dare would be 150 and the Voyager 100. I've read some real mixed reviews on the Glyde and I was wondering if it really was that bad? Have any of it's problems been fixed or addressed? Unless someone foresees the Dare or Voyager dropping down in price, the Glyde would be my last resort. I could spring for the Dare, but i'm in law school and I really could use the money saved for other needs. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Many thanks ahead of time 🙂

NEW BLACKBERRY STORM

I just got a message from my rep, Blackberry Storm! anyone have any more information?

Don’t have a price yet… new Blackberry storm!!!! First touch screen blackberry will send info when available.
Take the World by Storm
The BlackBerry® Storm┞¢
With the Storm, RIM is shedding its “all business” image to focus on the consumers who want a device that they can still use at work, but also use for play.
ô€”š”žÃ¯â‚¬Â First ever touch screen. That’s right, it’s RIM's first touch screen, but it’s not just any touch screen. It’s got a “click” touch screen for smooth, precise text input that feels like a keyboard.
ô€”š”žÃ¯â‚¬Â High resolution screen. It’s so good that...

The video has some cool shots of the phone and the web browser. The audio kinda stinks though.

Enjoy,

Sprint vs Verizon

Okay here goes,

I used to have Alltel - LOVED the coverage, didn't care much for the price. I switched to Sprint a couple months ago because they have the $99 everything plan. I use blackberry email and around 4000 daytime minutes a month for work, and this plan was a GREAT deal for what I needed.

That being said, I am so frustrated by Sprints coverage that I am thinking of paying the early cancellation and switching to Verizons $150 unlimited plan. I have had so many dropped calls with Sprint that it's just ridiculous.

I live in the Raleigh NC area and travel on a regular basis to Charlotte NC, Hilton Head SC, Myrtle Beach SC, Pinehurst NC, Winston Salem NC and Greensboro NC. I need a phone that I can depend on and that dropped...

The Good The Bad The Ugly &

The Good:
TMOBILE has some very cool phones coming before the end of the year. Number one will be the HTC Dream also known as the Google Phone. 😲

The Bad:
Due to circumstance I am no longer with VZW. 😉

The Ugly:
GSM call quality can be spotty at times. 🤣

&:
I miss the network following me everywhere. I don't feel as important without all those people, trucks, helicopters, hoovering by me everywhere I would go. 😎

Porting to VZW??

I currently have U.S. Cellular, so I was considering porting to Verizon, everyone tells me that Verizon is expensive, but they have amazing service. I really want to go to Verizon, but I don't want to pay 200 dollars a month.

I looked online and I'd like the 450 mins/Unlimited text to everyone plan for 49.99 a month. Does anyone know how much that would be a month? Just a guess. It won't be over 80 dollars a month will it?

Oh, and is the EnV2 a good phone?

VZW to Houston Area & SE TX users:

"Don't use your phones unless it's an emergency."

So says the reporter on KHOU-TV, via DirectTV Ch. 361 moments ago.

BB on VZW without a data/BB plan?

Is it possible to have a Blackberry phone with VZW and NOT be on a data or BB plan? I like the adult/business look of the curve, but I really don't want the extra expense of a BB plan. I have a coworker who has a BB Pearl on AT&T and she only has a standard calling plan. She doesn't use the email function but she loves the organizer, calendar, and the other PDA features. I realize that getting a BB and not using it for email is kinda like getting a Ferrarri to drive only 45mph, but the deals that are available would allow me to get a Curve for the same price (or less) than a good "standard" phone. Is it possible? Thanks.

Palm Centro Question

I am looking for a "grown up" phone with a full Qwerty. I really do not need access to my personal email all the time so I think that BB would be overkill. I do text a lot and use my phone as a phone...so reception is important to me. I don't particularly need the smartphone abilities but the phone is not that expensive so it's no big deal to have them on there....

I am wondering how Centro users like the reception, call quality and texting ability. Also if I did not get the data plan can I still send and receive pic and text messages? Thank you.

Billing/Discount Question

My husband and I both work for our state and my husband is in the National Guard and we have a family share plan. Are we eligible for both the discounts...from the state and from the military?

I ask because several people we work with that are both state employees and NG members receive both discounts combined from a different carrier. I love Verizon and the service but it would be hard to pass up switching for 40% off my monthly cell phone bill. Thank you.
