Verizon Ringback Ads

I found it objectionable that Verizon changed from Please enjoy the music to an ad for Verizon ringback. A call to a supervisor can have this advertising removed.

Robust calendar app

I am looking for smartphones for Verizon's network thta has a calendar application that allows you to create an event with option to have a reminder at least one week in advance. Most only allow one hour or 2 hours. I am spoiled by the Blackberry. But, it does not make sense for me to have an hour reminder if my phone is not always in my hand. Also, reminders help you plan and prepary for the event more efficiently.

Bored

i'm bored with my Droid now. If I did not have my iPad, I would go nuts. I wish the new phones had come out in August.

Droid X

Well I think it's time i start to face the facts. My droid x is starting to **** the bed on me. For starters no matter how many times I calibrate the touch screen I am starting to lose touch on the sides and in the middle of the screen itself. Also the phone likes to reboot itself on occasion. I would turn it off before going to sleep only to have it turn itself back on a few moments later.

Just needed to vent as I am sure there is nothing Verizon can do for me right??

Thanks

AT&T 3G MicroCell

Does Verizon offer anything similar to the ATT 3G Microcell? I am asking for an executive for the company I am working for. Apparently his cellphone (Blackberry Bold) doesn't get great service down on Martha's Vineyard.

Thanks for the help

Umm, anyone else have their smartphone freak out?

Right after I sent a text msg to my friend I go back to my home screen and just right now my Blackberry started playing some mexican (or other latino) television show. I couldn't bring up my task manager by holding the blackberry key or end the video by pushing the end key. Anyone else have this oddity just happen to them?

non liability line transfer

My ODS is transferring to sail fin university while working at Disney. So were thinking of doing non liability line transferr. We have unlimited data, grandfatherd in. He says a phone center rep said it was free. But I'm double checking.

1)he has no credit. So will he need a deposit since this will be a new account.

2) is there an ETF for us since his line was recently updated? contract doesn't expire until April 2013.

3) will he be forced over to tiered pricing?

August 4

August 4 has been pushed out there as the date when lots of phones would be appearing in Verizon. I guess everyone got it wrong.

Best Android?

Guys, I am leaving the wireless industry soon, so will be switching carriers to either AT&T or Verizon (my current company I work for isn't an option, and the free service is barely worth it).

What has been the best Android phone for you guys so far? Anything on the horizon? I will be switching towards the end of August or early September, but would hold off for a little bit to get the next best thing.

Samsung Fascinate

Verizon finally admits to reception problems with the Samsung Fascinate. Loved the phone but could not deal with not receiving calls. Verizon is sending out a replacement Droid X2 tomorrow.

VZW, feature phones & smart phones.

On the Call: Verizon COO McAdam on iPhone
Associated Press, 07.22.11, 12:12 PM EDT

NEW YORK -- Verizon Communications Inc. is benefiting from being able to sell the iPhone, but investors were looking for even stronger results in the second quarter. On a call with analysts, incoming CEO and current Chief Operating Officer Lowell McAdam was asked if he thinks smartphone adoption will speed up this year.

QUESTION: At the beginning of the year we heard that 50 percent of phones in the hands of Verizon ( VZ - news - people ) subscribers would be smartphones this year. It doesn't look like you're going to make it. Do you see anything in the second half of the year that's going to get you there?

RESPONSE: We like the gross a

Am I the only one who has this problem?. . .

It doesn't matter whether it's the original Motorola Droid, LG Ally, or the Samsung Droid Charge, ALL give me the same problem that when I press the home button all the icons, shortcuts, and folders dissapear, and don't reapear for at least 15 seconds or so, it's very, very frustrating, and it happens frequently too!

Am I the only person this happens to?

VoLTE

I read an article on CNET regarding the VoLTE plans on Verizon and the fact that the LG Revolution is capable of this feature whereas the Thunderbolt was not. Phonescoop does not list this feature in it's comparison charts. I have also not seen this feature listed anywhere on the Verizon QRGs.

Any info on whether or not a 4G handset has the feature, like the Charge? Might be useful information when determining what phone to buy if Verizon plans to make this switch next year.

Cell Phone Dilemma

Hey, first post here. Be nice 🙂

So, my Motorola Droid is somewhat broken to the point that I do not want to use it anymore, and I really do not want to spend the mandatory $30 a month for the data plan with that phone. Also, I don't want to spend $100-800 on a new phone from Verizon.

I am very much naive about the unlocked phone market, but I found some online. If I buy a used unlocked phone, will I be able to use it on Verizon? Does it matter if it is GSM, CDMA dual-band? Anything? Should I be able to use nearly any phone? Also, which cell phone technology would be compatible with most/all providers? I think I remember CDMA being Verizon exclusive? Maybe that is wrong.

Also, I am currently on a contract. I have it suspended right...

Epik, I'm changing the subject.... (AKA iPhone sales) and more

Hey epik, not to change the subject, but I'll change the subject...I haven't been on in awhile, how has the sale of iPhones been going for Verizon? Did anyone ever hear from Scott Herman again....? My daughter just got one (coming from the original Moto Droid) and she absolutely LOVES the battery life. She routinely gets 4 days on one charge (I couldn't go 5 hours with my droid). That and the camera seem to be the ultimate selling points for the iPhone. Has the offering finally shut up the masses or does the average Verizon customer just not care? I know I don't....still rocking the berry.

From my somewhat limited point...

Developers not focus on Thunderbolt

Ever since the TB was release there has yet to be an app that can be compatible with the TB. First of all the My Verizon. why havent they released a fix for this. This should be the main app that all Verizon phones should be able to use. Next is other apps being release that only are made for certain phones at start. The TB has never been on the list at first. Just other phones. I believe they failed on this phone at launch which is one reason Verizon is now saying the Samsung is the first Droid phone to take on the 4G LTE. the TB is a droid phone too. Its a great phone, phone they just need to push out these updates and get the ball rolling.
