Need help with selecting new phone

Ok, I am thinking of getting into the smartphone arena (currently has 3 year old LG phone) and I currently have verizon so at least I want to keep the same carrier... I browsed some of the current phones like iphone4 and the new droids and the rep suggested me to go 4G since it is supposed to be 100x faster than 3g (the area i am living in is within 4g service) and she said that if I get a phone now might as well make it "future proof" since I will keep it for 2 years+ which I am most definitely planning to. So I guess my questions are:
1. is 4g worth it if I were to get a phone now?
2. Are there any new/better phones coming up for verizon that I should wait for?
3. I read the Droid charger is better than HTC thunderbolt in some aspects -...

BB Protect & New Data Plans

As most BB users know BB Protect can only be used with unlimited data plans. How will the new tiered plans affect BB Protect? Is it one more thing VZ is taking away?
BTW: I suppose I'm one of the VERY few people who don't need unlimited data. I use my BB as a phone - first and foremost - for email, texting, calendar, contacts and BB Messenger. I don't, and won't, stream video or music. I use the 150MB data plan and I'm sure that won't carry over if I upgrade my phone. 2GB for $30.00 is outrageous.

New Dumbphones

Are there any good dumbphones expected to come out soon? It seems like the only phones VZW has released lately are smart phones.

I'm looking to replace my EnV Touch, and not looking to add a data plan to my bill just yet.. so just trying to find a solid dumbphone solution. The EnV Touch seemed like a good phone at first, but the touch screen is having issues & it has a ton of random reboots.

Wants:
Good battery, good signal strength, good call quality, decent camera..

I'd like to go with the Incredible 2, but don't like the idea of a $30 data plan! (I have a feeling I'd go over the data limit on the $15 plan.)

Thanks

What new phones are coming out?

I'm just curious if there are any "solid" rumors about what's in the pipes for new phones coming out. I have the original Incredible, and I love it. The size is perfect for me. The only issue is the battery life. I considered upgrading to the Incredible 2, but don't know if it's enough of an upgrade over what I have. I don't have 4G in my area yet but it's supposed to come next year, so I wouldn't mind a 4G phone. But I don't want a brick, like the Thunderbolt or Charge. Those phones are just too big for me. I also want decent battery life. Any suggestions?

Okay all she is thinking of getting the BB Bold. I realize that its the replacement to her Tour. Does anyone have anything good, bad or indifferent about this? Verizon's website wasnt so favorable.

Thanks

I have an Alltel Plan on Verizon......

What will happen to me with the new data program on the 7th?

I have a DINC on an Alltel plan with $10- a month unlimited data. Yeah, I know. I couldn't believe corporate let me have that phone last June on this plan. My local Verizon store told me they couldn't activate a Verizon phone on an Alltel plan. I knew that was BS. They just didn't want to. LOL!!!

So, what do I do now? I still have a year on this plan. Should I try to see if Verizon will switch me now to a 4G plan? I just have a funny feeling they won't let me keep unlimited data for $10- a month.

Future of Corporate Data Plan

I access my company email using the Good For Enterprise app on my Droid Incredible. Using this app requires the upgraded $44.99 corporate data plan. Fortunately I have a 19% corporate discount and my employer reimburses me for most of the remaining data charges. I end up paying for the voice minutes portion of my bill. This got me to thinking about the 7/7 tiered data plan changes that are coming. I know Verizon has not officially announced anything yet, and most of the available information is well founded internet rumor, but I have not seen anything mention the future of of the corporate data plan. Has anyone stumbled across a link or information about how corporate data plans will be handled after 7/7? Based on what I have read it ...

Verizon Outgoing Mail Server

I remember in the past there was a generic outgoing mail server we could use for phones that would not send email.

I have a networks solutions customer with their own mail url and no matter what we cannot get it to send email. This is using the stock email app on Droid X2.

Any recommendations on email apps (free preferred) or alternate setting would be great. Network Solutions has been no help other than to confirm their settings.

VZW 4G LTE handsets coming up? Or...

Hello, I am a HTC Touch 2 Pro user who is looking to upgrade to a 4g LTE phone in July. My NE2 is up in July (I know this is the last time VZW is offering this program.)

My TP2 has been stellar, specially with global roaming, and that large Qwerty keyboard. I don't need to upgrade as the phone is running just fine, but I want to.

When I look at the reviews on the current three 4G offerings from VZW, I don't see a lot of positive comments.

Thunderbolt seems to have serious battery life issue. Samsung Charge seems feel cheap and plasticky with poor sound quality (?). Even though it comes off as the best of the bunch.
Not sure why LG is getting no love, even though seems to be a decent phone.

So Here Are My Questions:

Verizon?

Before I get bashed again by the VzW
Kool-aid drinkers, look at the new 4G HTC Sensation that worthless T-Mobile is going to offer Wednesday.

Thinner, faster, made out of Aluminum construction, curved glass, dual core more pixels.

Yes indeed, VzW does like their plastic thicker brick Smartphones that's for sure. Oh, maybe it is the HTC Thunderbolt's 'flashlight' that makes it 8mm thicker. lol

Phone Suggestions

I am writing for some help for my aunt. She is due for an upgrade now. She currently has a BB Curve with the thumb and she is looking for a new phone preferably with a keyboard either hidden so you can slide it open or just flat out on the phone.

Any help would be appreciated

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU VERIZON?

All of a sudden, Verizon has nothing but lame Smartphones. I am so embarrassed that they basically reinvented the wheel with the Droid X2 instead of moving forward with a LTE Moto.

Yes, the other carriers SUCK when it comes to their 3/4G networks, but gosh almighty, look at their equipment. Sprint will have a 3D phone, ATT already has beat Verizon with their Moto thin LTE phone (which is getting pretty good reviews).

NO, I am NOT leaving Verizon, but come on, it is time to kick it in HIGH GEAR!! Has someone lame recently received a promotion that should NOT be there when it comes to picking and choosing new equipment at Verizon Headquarters? If you do not believe me, look at the phones the other carriers are now offering.

Again...

Droid X getting glitchy

I know I should probably post this in the Droid X forum, but it doesn't look like there's been any activity in there for a few months. Anyhow...my phone just recently started getting weird when I hit the Home button (the actual physical button). Now, instead of taking me back to my home screen, it shows me the screen with my most recent activity. Sometimes I can't get back to the Home screen at all.
I thought maybe an update would fix it so I checked. There was an update available so I did it. Same stupid problem is still there.

Any ideas? ☹️

Brew Text Messages

Anyone know what these are:

//BREW:01013D82:23110LN sparker02148 99E4PFHQfRaYADqPOv9zrnFuerp3FFgaxA--

They show up occasionally and for the life are aggravating and not sure what it is and how to get them to stop.

Thanks
