Quick question about VZW.

I've had my current phone for almost 2 years, and I've recently heard that 3 months before a contract is up Verizon offers a $50. Is this true? I'm really hoping it is because my current phone is in bad shape and i'm ready for a new one. Also, if it is true, how would i be notified that i qualify for the discount? would they send me something along with my bill? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sprint and Simply Everything

What do you all think about Sprint and their new plans? Besides the usual giving away the farm and titanic statements.

Today Sprint unveiled its own version of the $99 unlimited plan. Unlike the plans announced last week by other wireless carriers, Sprint's plan includes unlimited voice, data, SMS messages, email, Web, Sprint TV, Sprint Music, GPS navigation, DirectConnect and Group Connect. The plan is called Simply Everything, and is available to both CDMA and iDEN customers. Customers will be able to switch to the new plan without extending their current contracts. Sprint will also offer an unlimited everything plan for family lines as well for an incremental $5 discount for each additional line. Interested customers can contact cust...

Sprint Writedown. 29.7 billion!!!!!

Huge writedown slams Sprint

Sprint (S) is admitting defeat in its 2005 merger with Nextel. The struggling telco posted a fourth-quarter loss of $29.5 billion, or $10.36 a share, reversing the year-ago profit of $261 million, or 9 cents a share. The latest quarter was hit by a $29.7 billion writedown of merger-related goodwill, reflecting the difference between the price Sprint paid and the actual value of the asse 😳 ts purchased. Excluding that gargantuan charge, Sprint made 21 cents a share on an adjusted basis, beating the 18-cent analyst consensus estimate. Revenue fell 6% from a year ago to $9.8 billion, missing the $9.95 billion Wall Street target.

“The fourth quarter financial results reflect the challenges facing our wire...

newtothis30...what the #$%$

Ok, since you have joined this forum here is what you have put out there.

1.Booste is great and has the best phone selection.
2.AverageJoe is a know it all about nothing
3. Verizon does not train employees and will not hire high school graduates
4. Verizon will never get the curve
5.Verizon is buying Sprint
6. More customers leave verizon every day then any other company
7.You got a blackberry Pearl on early upgrade at 17 months through your contract....but yet you are ranting about going to at&t, but all you do is rant about how great booste is.

So here is what i am thinking. you got kicked off of verizon for non pay, tried to go to at&t but had a huge deposit, so you settled for prepaid booste, and now you sit at home dogging o...

I really want this phone but I'm NOT going to switch from Verizon. Are there any rumors or news about this phone being picked up by Verizon? Or anything about it for Verizon open access? Also this phone supports GSM right?

for all you verizon (customer) complainers

lets cut to the facts. even though you all say verizon customer service or the company itself sucks, we rank the highest in net promoter scores. that means that our customers are more likely to recommend us to friends and family than other provider's customers. currently we are only at 45, t-mobile at 35 but sprint stands...falls...at -20. chad is probably at -100 eating dirt. so if you think we're bad, go to someone else and we'll be waiting for your return. (i had sprint). so call in to vzw customer service (i work there) and blah blah "i don't want a refurbished phone." try going to sprint, where it's refurbished plus charge 35.00 for the same warranty replacement. "why do i get esn change fees (most esn changes are, and for those who ar...

Bye Verizon ( 'til the UGI goes away )

I am so done with Verizon. I've been off and on with them ( mainly with them ) since they where AMERITECH (I live in the Chicagoland market ) I hate their MENU. It bites and I'm tired of it. All their new phones have it. The e815s menu? Where did it go? Verizon has the best coverage and the best service out there but I'm leaving for good until they stop with the communist b.s. they have with their phones n services. I'm tired of the boring V9M I have. Come on. Who uses the right button ----- Say a command ----- uh, no one. Why cant Verizon leave Motos, Samsungs, whoevers original menu on their phones? All out war on Verizon. Shame on you Verizon.

How to use a PDA w/o a data plan

I'm new to verizon. I have a phone number I'm taking over and a Motorola Q. How do I activate this phone and not have a data plan. I want to make sure I don't get charged KB usage but I've read and heard that if you don't have a data plan Verizon mysteriously still charges you KB usage.
