help! harrassment case

My good friend is on Alltel, and someone with Verizon keeps calling and texting her. Is there anything anyone can do? Find a name by number? I advised her to just call Alltel and block the number, but I'm not sure she can even do that.

Help!?

Sprint expected to undercut rivals' call plans
Wednesday February 20, 10:16 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - No. 3 U.S. mobile service provider Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE:S - News) is expected to offer flat-rate calling plans at up to a 40 percent discount to its rivals, hurtling the industry into a price war, analysts said on Wednesday.
The two largest U.S. mobile service providers, Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc (NYSE:T - News), on Tuesday unveiled $99.99-a-month plans for unlimited calls. T-Mobile USA went a step further by including text messaging in that pri...

China Mobile prepared for joint trials with Verizon, Vodafone

Forbes-02-13-08--China Mobile, the country's largest mobile service provider in terms of subscribers, has confirmed that it is set to join LTE (Long Term Evolution) trials already being carried out by Vodafone and Verizon Wireless. LTE is being developed to allow faster downloads, and one of its key attractions is that it works on infrastructure already in place across most of the world's mobile networks.

Researchers claim GSM calls can be hacked on the cheap

Callers, your worst nightmare is coming true... maybe. According to a report, a group of hackers at the Black Hat conference in Washington D.C. claim that they're able to hack GSM calls with equipment costing about $1,000. If you believe the team (and we're inclined to at least have a listen), they can decrypt GSM phone conversations and text messages on a network using inexpensive tools called field programmable gate arrays. Until now, the cost of the technology required to hack GSM transmissions has been prohibitively expensive for all but your government and large-scale snooping operations, but that's beginning to change. Not only can this technique allow access to calls, but some of the tech demonstrated at the conference might also enab...

Can you use corporate discounts with these new UNL plans?

someone had mentioned earlier that corporate discounts are not eligible with these plans. Can anyone comment on the accuracy of that statement.

Thanks, Chris

Replacement phone

I am wondering if the refurb phone replacement is just for phones out of warranty. My daughter dropped hers in some water, it will work, just not charge the battery. Any suggestions as to what to do would be helpful. If the only recourse I have is to buy another off Ebay or something, then that's what I'll do.
I know the store offered to do a replacement at the 1 year price with a new signed agreement, which is another option. Thanks in advance to any help 😁

Analog Networks to Go Dark On Monday

"Monday, February 18, the FCC will allow wireless network operators to shut down their old analog networks. These networks, built in the 1980s and called Advanced Mobile Phone Systems (AMPS) were some of the first used in the U.S. Network operators can also turn off their first-generation TDMA digital networks. Verizon Wireless and AT&T plan to shut their analog networks down on the 18th. The number of AMPS and TDMA users is low, so most wireless costumers will be unaffected. Other, regional network operators will likely turn their analog networks off as well."

Regarding this, I was wondering if anyone had feedback on this from the customers whose service may have been axed. If customers have been upset or if they have been happy to get ...

Looking for opinions on the Samsung SCH-i760

I have been reading this forum for a few weeks and appreciate (most of) the posters on here. Other than the anti-Verizon trolls, it's pretty imformative. I have been a Verizon customer for quite a while and my current contract ends next month and I have been looking seriously at the i760.

I searched the forums and have found several posts about the i760 before launch and soon after, but hardly any from people that actually own them. I know cnet has rated it 8 out of 10, but I am looking for any advice, pros/cons about it's use in the real world.

Thanks in advance

Verizon commercials. WHY?

Why are they so silly? I almost turned off my tv last night. I got so sick of seeing the fat guy with his daughter talking about the unlimited plan and stuff. Ugh! So stupid.
