BlackBerry 8830 out of stock on VerizoneWireless.com! Maybe an update coming?

After waiting months for a Blackberry Curve on Verizon I had just about given up. I went to the VZ Wireless site last night to order the 8830 only to see it was "Out-of-Stock". Could this be a sign that a new Blackberry is coming soon? Or perhaps an update to the 8830 which is long overdue.

DATA Pricing

Does anyoen have any idea if the data plan s will eventually change to a lower price. I have verizon, but it just kills me that the other data plans are so much cheaper. Now sprint even gives unlimted data with their unlimited minutes for only $99.00

HOW BAD ARE VERIZON WORKERS?

Today I went into my vzw store and I was treated awful. The place was really dirty and the employees where incredibly rude. I run a small company. We have 10 smart phones and 5 lg phones. I was having trouble w my BB getting emails. After I waited in line for 20 min I got this guy who I don't think graduated high school help me. He said he didn't know how BB work and he would get someone else to help me. 15 min later I was still waiting. The first thing the next guy told me is that I should of bought a palm. I stopped the conversation right then and asked for a manager. 10 min later the manager helped. it took him less then 5 min to fix the problem. Does Verizon train there employees? My contract is almost up and I'm going with ATT. Verizon...

Stop giving us a bad name

Personal rant...

I am a sales rep at a corporate VZW store. Yesterday I had a customer come in with an LG-vx8300 and was upset that she couldn't print off her pictures at Walgreens. She had a memory card that Walgreens, Target, and Walmart all said had no pictures on it or was defective. She visited a VZW store to inquire about her card not working. The CSR "reformatted" the card and told her it would work. It didn't. She visited another store and explained her story to the tech, whom in turn decided the card was defective and swapped out her memory card. Still didn't work. The customer then visited my store, very much upset that our pictures are not in a format that could be printed. When she bought the phone, the sales rep assu...

Blackberry Curve release date and price?

Someone at Verizon said it's on equipment guide. What's that? And is there a price and release date? I need this phone. If no price, any estimates?

Employee Accounts

Has anybody noticed that whenever Verizon Wireless says that "enhancements" have been made to Verizon employee accounts this always means a price increase is on the way? I noticed that the grand poobahs are doing away with the $5.00 200 min pkgs offered only a few months ago and forcing employees to go to one of the higher priced "consumer plans" with discount. The "enhanced" plans do not include unlimited messaging like we used to get on our calling plans.

I guess the execs who decided to pinch a few more pennies from employees after taking away our Long Term Incentives by increasing the costs of our employee calling plans do not realize that many of us just have the 5.00 package so that we can have a VZW phone on hand to help out cus...

I live in the promissed land!

In my area, for over 200 miles in any direction, Verizon Wireless is the only carrier that provides mobile broadband service. They also claim over 50 percent of the cellular market and everyone wants to know why Sprint and ATT haven't invested money to build a quality broadband network. My VX6800 downloads between 900 and 1100 kbps. Sprint connects between 30 and 60 kbps and ATT's iPhone connects at 100 kbps. all tested from www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1 I NEVER drop calls and couldn't imagine switching. Anybody else have this quality of service or and I just living in the VZW promissed land?

Verizon has no perks!

tmobile, alltel, att, and sprint all have some kind of appealing perks, yet verizon doesn't even offer the ability to pay more for early nights! I know all the kool aid answers like we're the best we have 'IN' minutes and we pay more for less because we rule. But really why doesn't verizon offer something else to its customers, when they could even make more money???

Can You Hack Me Now? GSM no good?

Researchers claim GSM calls can be hacked on the cheap

Posted Feb 21st 2008 10:10PM by Joshua Topolsky

Callers, your worst nightmare is coming true... maybe. According to a report, a group of hackers at the Black Hat conference in Washington D.C. claim that they're able to hack GSM calls with equipment costing about $1,000. If you believe the team (and we're inclined to at least have a listen), they can decrypt GSM phone conversations and text messages on a network using inexpensive tools called field programmable gate arrays. Until now, the cost of the technology required to hack GSM transmissions has been prohibitively expensive for all but your government and large-scale snooping operations, but that's beginn...

Get off Family Share Plan, start an individual line - HELP!

Ok, here goes...

I am currently on a Family Share plan and my 2-year contract is up. I want to get off of that plan and start my own Individual Line. I went to the store and was told I would not get any discounts on phones, but if I did it online I would get the special price for opening a new line. If I did it in the store, the phone would be $179.99, but online it is $79.99.

My question is...how can I go about doing this? I could just start a brand new line, but lose my phone number, and then cancel my Family Share Plan. I cannot figure out how to do it on the website so I get the best deal on the phone.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Will there be an update to the U-740?

I was just wondering if anyone has heard any news on an updated u-740. We just released the u-550, and I'm really hoping the u-750 is next. The 740 was pretty sweet for texting without having to carry around what feels like an elephant fetus like the env. Just curious if anyone has heard anything.
