Low-Cost Family Plan

I finally got out of my Sprint Contract and now I'm looking at switching to a (hopefully) better service.

I've heard rumors that Verizon Wireless has a low-cost Family Plan that they don't advertise on their website. Does anyone know what it is, or where I could read about the cost/features so I can ask for it when I sign up?

Thanks in advance.

Starting with Verizon Corporate

I currently work for an indirect location, was offered a position with vzw corporate inside of circuit city at a kiosk. How do these stores usually stack up in sales vs. a full corporate store? Any advice or stats would be appreciated!

Best Reliability for Verizon Phone - Reasonabl $$

Need to buy a new phone - eligible for new every 2. Have had 2 different Moto and 3 problems: a. early phone (w/ old style charger with metal clips) the charger wouldn't fit snuggly after 1 yr. and I couldn't keep it charged b. current Moto phone battery no longer stays charged (1 yr. old) and the headset jack doesn't work any more (but no more problem with the charger connection since they changed it to the USB connection). So, VZW store clerk pushing LG, but the 2 LG phones in the store already had charger connections that were loose (LG 5400 and the next one up - 8350?). Makes me question the LG. But, I've had trouble with the Moto, too. Quandary. I just need a basic phone with these features: 1. Excellent sound quality for incoming and o...

VZW Reps...I need clarification on data policy...

I have an ongoing issue that I've been dealing with for almost 3 weeks now. I can't get a straight answer from any VZW rep. I've called care reps and gone into stores. So many different answers.

Here's the deal:
I got a Moto Q.
I don't want to browse the net.
I do want to send PIX/FLIX messages.
I have the $10 Unlimited IN TXT/PIX pack.
I don't have a monthly data pack.

Here's what I've been told:
1) Without a data pack you will still be charged per KB for PIX/FLIX messages, even with the $10 TXT/PIX pack.
2) As long as you have any TXT/PIX feature you will NOT be charged for KB usage for PIX/FLIX messages, only for web browser and applications. But a web block on and you will never get charged KB usage and you can still sen...

Repater

Hello all, I want to thank you in advanced for any answers, but my parents are wanting to buy a repeater for a rural area that they live in. Dad has Verizon Wireless, however in the rural areas he is extended US Cellular for Dad and Mom has Centennial (GSM).

They are looking to buy 1 repeater that will work for both systems. Dad wants to know if a satellite spliter (reversed) can be used as a combiner for the 800mhz and 1.9 ghz antennas with the repeater?

Again, thank you for any answers or thoughts in helping them out.

Question about the 30 day return policy

I picked up the XV6800 today, and after using it for a little while, I don't think it's something that I'm going to enjoy. I plan on testing it for a few more days, and returning it if I don't feel comfortable with it.

My question is two-fold. First, if I return it and go to a cheaper, non-smart phone, will the money difference be returned to my account, or am I going to end up with some odd store-credit?

Secondly, if I trade my phone in, does this take away from the person that sold me the phone? The salesperson that helped me was excellent, and I'd hate to see her lose some of the commission she made if I switch phones.

Apple iPhone Doomed To Failure -- Windows Mobile 7 Plans For 2009 Leaked

Interesting article about Microsoft's plans for Windows Mobile 7 OS:

With many features dubbed "iPhone compete", WM7 is all about effective uses of the touch screen, finger gestures, and additional motion gestures. Microsoft's put a lot of thought into how to make the mobile phone interface more intuitive and easier to use, even more so than Apple's iPhone. WM7 is surroundings aware, and movements of the physical phone are part of the user interaction with the phone. From Nathan's blog post...

"Gestures shown include in music or a slideshow, shaking the phone left or right to go to the previous or next song or photo, and shaking the phone in order to shuffle it."

"Microsoft Research has a technology concept that uses the device's c...

Disappointed with the CES report

Maybe its just me, but it doesn't seem like there are any great phones being shown that at CES that are coming to Verizon. I was expecting to hear about the Samsung u900 that coming out, some LG, I would have been happy with Motorola phones coming out for Verizon... But nothing.. ha we did get sections all on Utstar and Sony Ericsson..but nothing really about Verizon..

Any one else feeling my pain?

Interesting article about fourth quarter numbers

January 10, 2008

Sprint's (S) woes intensified at year-end as mobile phone subscribers fled in mass. The flailing No.3 wireless shop is expected to report that it lost more than a half million customers in the fourth quarter, say analysts and industry watchers. Unlike other players feeling squeezed by competition, Sprint can't blame a softening economy for its steepening plunge. Rival AT&T (T) is expected to report blowout subscriber gains and No.2 Verizon Wireless -- co-owned by Verizon (VZ) and Vodafone (VOD) -- is likely to add another big win to its robust growth record.

In its third quarter, Sprint lost 337,000 subscribers, an alarming rate given the strength of the wireless market. But Sprint's losses have been a big gain for ri...

24.99 10mb plan...other data plans...

I want to switch back to my Q but I'm not willing to pay $45 a month. So I'm considering the 24.99 plan to cover my usage. I dont need the web but i will be sending many pix messages which takes kb usage. My questions are...

- On average, how many kb is a normal pix message?
- On average, how many kb is a normal flix msg?
- 1 MB equals how many KB?

Thanks for your help.

What is Verizon's best clamshell phone?

Must haves are:

* Strong signal
* Easy texting
* Average to above average battery life, I don't want to charge the phone more than once a week.
* Music ringtones that can be transfered from my PC to the phone (I do not want to download or buy them)
* Bluetooth

Would be nice to have an included data cable and PC software

Your real world feedback is much appreciated.
