Verizon Wireless has severed all ties from Akon after the dry humping video of him and a 15-year-old girl from Trinidad surfaced. Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds chimed in on Fox News that Akon should be prosecuted.

Verizon Wireless promoted Akon as one of the musicians on its mobile-phone music service, and said it would no longer sponsor the Gwen Stefani tour in which Akon, who recently performed on “American Idol,” is the opening act.

Ignore the Alltel dweeb "Chip" and the other nerks who are supposed to leverage the stereotype that nerdy fat boys are ineffective nitwits, for the time being.

Forget about the bespectacled stalker guy in the gray coveralls with the crowd of people and hovering helicopters that represent Verizon's network.

Never mind the fact that T-Mobile along with the ever-morphing CinguAT&T use GSM technology with SIM cards while the rest use CDMA technology which does not utilize the handy SIM cards.

Who has what coverage, how many bars, or the coolest selection of phones is also unimportant in this rant.

does anyone know if there are ANY kind of upgrades within 1 year of a two year contract?

First of all, I applogize if this question has already been asked. Does anyone know which phones will be released soon, or during the summer months? I know the Moto Maxx and LG vx8700 were recently released. I am looking to upgrade soon to a newer phone, not really any PDA or Smartphones. Any help is much appreciated!

One week before my upgrade and I have narrowed it down to a Treo.

I am a windows computer user, but does that matter when it comes to a PDA? Will synching be easier? Will daily usage be easier?

so, my Friend has nextel and i have verizon..she wanted to take my razr {regular not maxx} and have it turned on by nextel. i said i didn't know if we could so being in the mall at the time we went to the nextel store and asked . only to have the woman keep questioning us about if it was a sprint razr. i said no and she said then my Friend could not use it on their network....i got the feeling she was not telling me the truth, does anyone know if i gave my Friend my old razr if she could use it on the nextel/sprint network?

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed before, but does Verizon have an Employee Purchase website? Sprint I know has something called SERO I think at www.sprint.com/sero.
If so, how does this exactly work? I'm an existing customer, and my contract is about to expire. I have a $100 NE2 credit ready and currently have the Amer. Choice II 500 Family plan but want to upgrade to the Amer Choice 700 min Family plan. Is this something that I'd be able to use to get a bigger discount?

So i'm driving up in my car right now from Florida to Massachusetts and I had the $60 Broadband Access tethering feature added to my account for the week. Im not sure who of you have used it before but it is amazing.
I have my Macbook Pro connected via my 8300's bluetooth and it feels like I'm at home just surfing the web. After a week I'll have it taken off so it will only cost $15!

Got one in this morning... this is the same ol junky RAZR but heavier and thicker... come on Motorola... all you did was add 2.0 camera and copied the LG 8600 design inclding MP3 buttons. very disappointed... THUMBS DOWN!

And I'm not so much interested in bells n' whistles but rather quality, i.e. stuff like the phone being solidly-built/durable, having good speakerphone clarity, good battery life, non-weird controls, etc.

I'm also considerin' the Moto V325, and Samsung a645 (that's a 'TBA' phone/isn't available yet).

Okay, enough with the lame math joke, but seriously BabbleBug.com just got the ability to direct-refill both Verizon Wireless prepaids. As in look ma, no PINs. Also, you pick your refill value, whatever you want it to be. So if you want a month of INPulse service without normal calling, you make a refill for $29.70. Dunno, but that's nicer than having 30 cents left over...just something interesting...

I posted a message on a different subject and got responses that the SHINE may be the phone for me. I have not yet seen it in any stores.
