Can I just deactivate the HTC Thunderbolt and use it for it's wifi?

I gotta pay $150 + $28/month for 4G?

Maybe I should just boycott and use it for it's wi-fi. Is this possible? Or should I just sell the damn thing?

So...

..I activated an old LG-VX8300 I acquired from a friend and I discovered that with its old PRL and software it is stuck in extended network. The SID here in southwest Alabama was 4160 before the "merger" but now apparently Alltel's old SID 120 is the one they kept. (I would certainly keep 850 over 1900). So my phone is stuck in Extended Network. I also have an LG-VX8100 which is doing the same thing. To these phones Alltel SIDs are roaming and in the old days would have cost Verizon money so I certainly understand why they set them up like that. The old rules are so silly today. However, I am afraid if I go to the store that I won't get help because they don't have technicians here...they've all been converted to sales reps and who wa...

any word?

Has anyone heard if there is a 1yr pricing point for the iphone? I know ATT only offered the iphone on a 2yr contract. Do you think that will be the same? I hope they don't do this for that the phone is going on a year old in the next 4 months and that would make a super old phone come 20 months from now.

It's like owning the Nokia 2110 (remember??)when 3g came out.

Simple Feature Phones + No Data Plan

Which is the best simple feature phone? So they will be requiring data plans for 3g Feature Phones.

I would like to know what is the highest rated simple feature phone that won't require a data plan.

Best non-smartphone at Verizon Wireless?

I have a New Every 2 Upgrade. I don't want a smartphone, because I don't want to get the required data plan.

Thank you.

What devices (non-phone) beat the specs of the HTC Thunderbolt?

I want to know what devices (without phone capabilities) are better, but in the same price range. I guess I am looking for ones less than $600, since an HTC Thunderbolt is $250 with a 2-year contract.

an iPad is bigger, but does it beat the specs?

HTC Thunderbolt:

You got 2 cameras front facing and on the back. 8mp camera.
Voice and data are simultaneous.
8gb with 32 gb card.
768mb ram.

Bets?

How long before Verizon follows Sprint's lead and raises the price of data plans? I could see them going back to $44.99 across the board as it was before.

Iphone --should I wait?

I've soo wanted the iphone for verizon. Had the Storm when it first came out. HATED IT! Using blackberry curve for a few years. Quite happy but really want the iphone. Two questions-- Should I wait for the next version--4G?? Also is there anything like BBM for the iphone if you are communicating with a blackberry user? And most important-- will I be able to sync my outlook contacts, calendar etc to the iphone. Please help. 🙄 🤤

Any plain vanilla flip phones?

I will be eligible for NE2 in less than 2 months, so my question is, is Verizon coming out with plain vanilla flip phones or should I wait for LTE? My wife does not want any smart phones. Thanks for your help.

Upgrade Question

My mom has an upgrade on her account and doesn't really care to use it. She told me that she would purchase the iphone and I could switch it to my line if that would work. My question is, is if she renews, gets the iphone and connects her phone that she is currently using now which doesn't not require a data plan would she be responsible for the one she signed up for with the iphone? I have a data plan and would just switch the phone to my account ... Any advice?
