So whats for dinner?

Thinking about getting a steak on the way home and grilling it, cooking up some big steak fries and a couple of rolls, all topped off with a little A-1 on the steak. Maybe a Miller Lite to wash it down with. 🤤

Question about replacements for an old phone

My dad has an Audiovox CDM-8600. We have the extended warranty on the line. The inside screen no longer displays anything, it only lights up. What is on the list of replacement phones for this model? I imagine the store won't have any left as the phone was discontinued nearly 2 years ago. He wants/needs a tri-mode phone. The only models I see that are still tri-mode and are somewhat comparable to the phone he has are the Moto 325 and the LG VX-3300.

Maybe I just answered my own question, but he'll be offered the 3300 since he doesn't currently have a camera phone, won't he? I'd rather see him get the Moto phone since my sis-in-law has had trouble with her 3300 (or one of its predecessors).

Hands on with VZ Navigator!

Ok so i have the Lg VX8300 today I downloaded VZ Navigator and took it out for a spin. On my lunch hour I used it to get me to the gas station which was about 5 miles away, I didnt know the address of the gas station or even which company it was but using the vz navigator Search for Gas stations based off "My GPS Location" (no imput was nescessary) it found the one I was thinking of. Then with just a touch of the OK key i was getting smart audible turn by turn directions to the gas station with very nice on screen mapping updated every second showing the roads and how i was moving.

It was very nice took me right to the spot. Then for a bigger test I let it guide me home after i got off work. Put in my address and even spelled it wrong! ...

Passive Repeaters....

Hey guys, I need to know about passive repeaters, (no not the "Internal Antennas"). Im interested in wheather or not anybody has had any luck with them, the ones I am talking about have 2 sepearate parts, one part has a long antenna that sticks outside a window and the inside part is about an inch square with two little antennas that sticks directly inside the window.

The reason I am even carious if they work is I know that Passave Repeaters actually have some validity to the technology and my vendors sell several different types, different ones for different frequencies, which leads me to believe their might actually be a difference in them and might actually work.

Any experience would be appreciated, thanks.

Bag Phones

I think it's hilarious when people bring these in to have them activated under a normal plan. But...can you dial 911 from a bag phone if it's not activated?

Rant: D**chebag in VZW Retail Store - Topeka, KS

I've had the best, and the worst customer service at this store during my 3 year relationship with them. But today probably topped them all. I've not met someone in a greater need of business/customer service etiquette.

I've been trying to decide between a Treo and a RAZR, it was really coming down to how "big" the phone felt in my pocket. So, I casually asked the customer service representative who by the way was literally standing in the middle of the store, hands in pockets doing nothing. An individual next to me had been previously approached and briefly helped, then he returned to his useless state. This is when I approached him and said something along the lines of "This is probably an odd question, but I'm trying to decide between ...

VZ Navigator and the RAZR V3C

My wife has one and I noticed in the "get Going" menu, it is there and offers a free one month trial.
I know Navigator works for the LG 8300 but what about for the RAZR?

What was your first VZW phone?

Verizon Wireless' handsets have come a long way since the Samsung A310.
https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=127 »

I got this one in 2002. It didn't even have Get It Now or a color screen. It did come with three games though.

As featureless as this phone was, it sure worked great out in the boonies where AT&T, Cingular, Sprint, etc. couldn't even get 1 bar. Thanks analog mode.

half hour to 45 minute hold times

Getting through to customer care today. Had a rep even say, "Yep, get used to it. Wal_mart is selling phones now."

In other words, the call centers are overwhelmed with calls because of Wal-marts' cash and carry policy.

So Wal-Mart might not hurt MY STORE in sales per say...but because I now have to wait forever on hold because of them...it is, in a round about way, affecting my sales. So in other words, I have wait on hold helping customers because Walmart won't help theirs...

Doesn't make sense does it?
