Motorola Q

Anyone else get this email from Motorola about the Q? It seems similar to some of the promotions in the immediate pre-prelease period with the RAZR. Here's the link.

Samsung a930 not being sold by Verizon directly yet?

I just got off the phone with Verizon and they told me that they were not selling the a930 yet due to the phone not passing Verizons standards. They said Samsung would have to redo it before they would cover it and sell it themselves.

I am wondering if anyone else has heard anything of this or could shed anymore light on the situation.

Also, I know there are a few people that have stated they owned it. I am wondering where they purchsed it, if its somewhere other than letstalk.com

Comparisons of phone signal strength?

Can anyone direct me to a website where the relative signal strength of different models is compared?

Short of that, would anyone care to offer guidance on which camera- and mobile web- ready phone will give me the best signal strength?

The camera and web are musts but all other bells and whistles are unimportant to me. I'm particularly interested in the Nokia 6235/6i because I prefer bar-type phones but the form factor can be sacrificed to another form that can give me signal in rural Pennsylvania.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Verizon stock takes a hit after spying scandal

The lawsuit filed against Verizon caused its stock to fall 1% today.

I was going to switch from Cingular to Verizon. It's a no-brainer.
But now I decided not to, because of Verizon's illegal acts against its customer. I can't trust them.
And yes, it concerns cell phone users, because sooner or later cell phone users will have to call a Verizon landline, and our phone number will be recorded.

I wonder...

Which carrier will push a manufacturer to make a waterproof phone first? You know it has to be offered by a carrier one day, just a matter of which carrier and which manufacturer? I'll tell you this much, it would be a HUGE selling point for a lot of people, a lot! Any feedback?

Why is Verizon better?

I am a verizon customer, and employee, and I would just like to get some opinions on why Verizon is a better phone company than there competitors.
Feel free to express your feelings if you are with one of the verizon competitors, all advice will be appreciated! Thanks!

Anyone else ever notice this about switching phones?

If anyone else is like me, they constantly switch phones throughout the year..and i dont know if anyone else has noticed this but when you switch from one phone to another, if you take the old phone that was deactivated, and you just make a call with it (although it wont go through), while that call with the old phone is in progress, you wont be able to make or receive a call with the phone you just activated. If someone calls you it will go right to voicemail. And if you try to make a call it simply wont go through.

I know this sounds pretty stupid, but just wondering if anyone has ever noticed this. I'm guessing its a cdma thing, but wondering if there is a way to clear out the esn or whatever so the deactivated phone is completely deta...

Nokia 6236i

I work for an indirect that sells Verizon and I have a question about the Nokia 6236 because my inventory manager just told me something that sounds like complete baloney.

He said that the reason we are not carrying this phone is because "it's only a dual mode phone so we cant activate it on an americas choice plan...only local digital."

...WHAT?! More than half the phones being offered right now are only dual mode. The only one that comes to mind that is tri-mode is the 5200. I'm sure theres more, and I could probably look it up and find out which ones have amps...but theres really no need for that. On top of that, we special ordered this phone for a customer a while back and set her up on americas choice. I reminded him of ...

Let's put your creativity to work, and kwitchyerbeliakin!

I have read so much pro and con about the different Verizon phones that have come down the pike over the last few months, that one man's/woman's joy is another's poison. I have been using the RAZR for the last three months, and I think Motorola finally got it right. I also know there are a bunch of you who think I'm crazy! OK, here's my challenge to you. YOU design a handset, from any manufacturer, that you think would be the ultimate. Forget about the fact that technology evolves...we ALL know that already. Tell me what you would want to have on a handset TODAY if you could have it. I would really be interested in hearing from any of you about this.

Question? Why do sales reps always say, "bars don't mean a thing"

I work at a verizon wireless store in Minnesota, and all the sales reps seem to always tell people, "oh bars don't really matter, here at Verizon Wireless" what the hell does that mean? any sales reps for verizon on here? why would you say that? if that was the case, than what's the point of having signal bars than?

Verizon Communications and Verizon Wireless, NOT THE SAME THING!!!

Verizon Communications: this would be your landline provider. Basic definition of landline: the phone in your home/office that has a wire attached to one end and the other end of the wire attaches to the wall. the distance you can travel with this phone is limited to the length of the wire. ☚ī¸

Verizon Wireless: your wireless provider. This phone can also be used in your home/office but can also be used miles away from any walls. 😉

If people would read the article from USA Today, they would see that there is absolutely no mention of ANY wireless company in the United States providing consumers phone records.

And who should we really be voicing our anger to anyway........the big man in charge, President George W. Bush...

14 day return/exchange period??

Alright guys I just switched to verizon, started my service on may 5th, I love my pink razor but the red bars drive me crazy! I want to switch to the E815, However my sales rep game me a rebate form that I already sent out the very same day that I got my phone.
Now I got a E815 for my mom that I haven't sent the rebate form for, both rebates are the same amount.
My question is, can I switch to the E815 even if I sent my rebate for my razor? or am I out of luck now? lol
Your responses are appreciated!
thanks!

vzw charging for caller id?

Hi,

I just switched from Sprint to VZW, and was looking at "my account" under "add/remove features" and found in the remove column an option to remove caller ID and it says that caller ID costs $1.95. Is this for real???? If so, I cannot believe caller ID is not included in the plan (I have signed up for the $39.99 450 minute plan).

a930 wide release dates???

Just wondering if any of you have heard any news on the wide release of the new Samsung a930. I just purchase the a950; which I do love, however this phone looks much more apealing to me, especially for sleekness and business attire.

I live in St. Paul and have not heard anything yet.

Also, if you have an opion about the 930 vs the 950 please let me know.

Who owns Verizon EVDO network?

I have a Verizon EVDO card for my laptop. It works great, with around 700+ download speeds in Orange County, CA.

I was talking to a Sprint rep and he said that Sprint should have faster speeds, since the EVDO network that Verizon uses belongs to Sprint.

Huh? I thought Verizon had the EVDO network up and running before Sprint. Or am I completely off track here?
