Verizon Phone Testing ?

Really how long can it take to test a phone. Is verizon regulated by the FDA? Complete and utter bullshit for any rep for verizon to get on this forum and say the delays are do to testing. PLEASE! There are people on this site that can have the phone tested and figured out in a week. Get rid of your dumb ass testers.....if that is really the case. However, I know the delays are not due to testing. Its about money and numbers. Verizon employees please stay off this forum. I have never seen an accurate release date from you or your friends or family members that work for Verizon. Infact.......they really give us nothing.....leads me to my Mushroom theory! Hehehehe

VZN north of SF?

I'm in Sonoma County (Santa Rosa) and thinking of dumping T-M for VZN. Opinions of the service in this area? Feel free to compare to T-M, Cingular, Sprint (I've had 'em all 🙄 ).

I have the SDA, and now can't see doing without a small Smartphone. The new Panteck clam Smartphone will be enough to make me switch, assuming the coverage/service is good. People I know here love VZN -- but others said the same about T-M, Cingular, Sprint ...

Thanks.

Motorola says it does not make bt headsets for cdma

I recenlty bought a motorola h700 headset it sounded horrible returned it and got their h3 headset-sounded horrible. I called motorola and the tech said that nothing is wrong with the headset, but we design our headsets for gsm not cdma. I thought he was bs'ing me so I spoke with a supervisor. He told me that was true, they do design them for gsm phones. I asked him why his packaging says works with all bluetooth capable phones and his reply was " you shouldn't worry about that, you should be worried about verizon being the only company using cdma." 😲 My reply with him was Then why do you have an agreement with verizon to sell your headsets at the verizon stores. He said he was a tech. supervisor but I could be transferred to a csr.

RAZR v3m Release

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on when the v3m is scheduled to release. I have read a couple of reports that say it will be out within the next couple weeks. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

My dad is NE2 eligible and used it on the v3c and had gone through 3 of them in one week. I just want to be able to tell him whether he should try another v3c or wait return it and wait for the v3m.

Message Use **POLL**

How many txt/pix messages do other people use? Mobile IM is kind of cheating so if you use that it doesn't count.

Last month I had 6630 txt and 232 pix/flix.

Question in regards to billing............ Very concern!!!!

I signed up for a family plan about a week ago ($80 for the first line and $9.99 for the second line - 1400 min and no extra services) and I just received two individual letters (one for each line!) confirming my service, contract, and MY ESTIMATED FIRST MONTH TAXES, GOV'T FEES, and SURCHARGES. I have been very happy so far with the service BUT I AM REALLY CONCERNED about these fees with Verizon. It is telling me that my estimated first month taxes, fees, etc are $31.31 for the first line plus a $3.64 Verizon Surchage, plus a 2.41% FEderal Universal fee. For the second line (The $9.99) lines, I will be paying $9.30 plus $1.25 Verizon Surcharge plus the 2.41% Universal fee. I can not believe that I will be paying close to $50 in taxes for a ...

a question for verizon reps

I have a question regarding suspending service. I have a friend that is leaving for the virgin islands for a couple of months, and verizon of course does not have service there. Can he suspend his account for a couple months and start it up when he returns to the states. I thought I heard somewhere you can do that, but do not remember the terms, such as I think it extends the contract, and there is a time limit. If anyone can help, would be much apprecitated. thanks in advance

PANTECH ? ! ?! ? ! ? ! ? ! ?

Dear Phonescoopers:

I’d like to get your opinions on Pantech phones. As VZW began releasing these entry level Pantechs, I had the impression it was a third rate manufacturer trying to gain market share by manufacturing junk that the carriers could offer for next to nothing.

I have since learned that Pantech is the second largest Korean hand set manufacturer, significantly larger than LG and catching up to Samsung. I have also read that in Asia they focus on high-end products as opposed to the entry-level stuff, and that they are highly regarded in the Asian markets.

The reason I am curious is because of the story on the Phonescoop homepage about the upcoming new model (PN820 or PC-8200N). This thing looks sweet, a reasonably sized c...

If only the quality went in before the name went on

New Commercial From SPCS – ‘To make a phone brilliant on the outside, you have to make it work on the inside’… Something VZW has been unsuccessful in doing… Software issues Galore… If only the quality went in before the name went on… Or, allow compatibility between competitors phones..

Do the other carriers have warrenty replacements?

Do the other guys have warranty replacements that they swap out for their customers? I see a lot of complaining about VZW testing of phones. I'm sure this is to help minimize the amount of warranty replacements that they have to make in the stores. Imagine if VZW did NOT have the warranty replacements available. You would have to send your phone to the manufacturer and wait 6-8 weeks for them to repair it.

Can the razor vibrate, and ring at the same time?

I had a customer ask me this question, and I have a razor, and don't know the answer. I thought, of course it would have that option, but I could not find it, so if anybody knows how to use this function, It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Question about "home airtime" usage

Hi guys, long time reader first time posting here. I have a question. I just now noticed something that is not made clear (to me at least) in the VZW contract terms, was hoping for some input. US Cellular, for example, requires that in order to get "free" nights & weekends and incoming calls, you must be in your local calling area, this is expressly laid out in the contract. However when looking at my VZW terms it refers to "home area" calling and doesn't really elaborate. My question is whether VZW has a similar/same policy as USCC, that with a national calling plan, you must be within your home calling area in order for unlimited nights & weekends to apply? I'd assume they do have the same policy but never thought about it until today...

News about the Samsung a930

I don't come on here every day, so if this has already been posted and I missed it, sorry.

I'm looking at a $50 mail in rebate that expires on June 19 for the Samsung a930. Expect this phone within the month. I'm an indirect and don't have an exact release date, but it's soon. Just thought I'd inform those of you that have been peeing your pants waiting for this. 😁

Yellowstone Park Develops Wireless Plan Amid Controversy

Yellowstone National Park will soon be blanketed with coverage from cell phone towers, wireless internet service, and two-way radio, as well as television and AM/FM radio signals under a plan being written by the telecommunications industry and park officials, according to agency records recently released by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).

The March 31, 2005 meeting had representatives from Sprint, Verizon, Qwest, Western Wireless (now Alltel) and other companies conferring with Yellowstone park officials and concessionaires. The purpose of the meeting was to develop a “Wireless Telecommunications Plan” for the p...
