Time for a new demo phone...

😎 Now all I gotta do is pick something.

Im thinking:

v325
- Just an awesome phone! Thats it - phone! Well built, from what I hear/read great reception, and the GPS thing sounds interesting. Only wish it had Bluetooth. ☚ī¸

vx8300
- I liked the 8100, but Im kinda worried about the huge "build up" this phone is getting. Too much hype maybe... Hopefully Im wrong.

e815
- Cant complain about this one either. Has everything I would want.

Although, I really dont want to buy a new phone, I kinda have to so I can "sell" more of the newer features like VCast and such.

Any insight?

A930 A very dissapointing day - Samsung Is not what they used to be :(

Guys,

I know how excited I was about this phone, but today changed alot..

So I am working in a customers home in the basement for the last few weeks. I have my 670 with me everyday and I use the phone alot down there.

Today I was workign for most of the day and I have to tell you that I could not maintain a call with the 930.. I dropped a bunch of calls and call quality was horrid..

I then went to get some lunch and in a spot I know is a bit shaky but the 670 and 950 had no problems the 930 fuzzed out and dropped calls.

The phones reception is marginal.. Very unfortunate.

Another problem - The phone has an issue with voice quality in the earpiece. I thought it was the phone and that it was bad but we had 3 of them together...

Instead of starting new threads bashing VZW

Why don't you take the advice given a long time ago? Not mentioning names to be directed a post at ONE user, but someone posted awhile ago about their battery going dead. People were kind and caring and showed how to get another battery even if VZW doesn't carry it anymore. Then this person bashes VZW over the SAME issue months later?!?!?!? A blatant example of someone just trying to create heat.

I believe this would be called "trolling". Purposely starting threads intended to offend people...

SO STOP!

RadioShack FEARS me!

LOL. I have had alot of customers come in lately saying that they went to Radio Shack and was told that there is NO ONE in this area that sells VZW. The customer must travel half an hour to the nearest VZW store. They do this although they KNOW that I am right across the street. I have always sent Sprint customers over there. Cingular isn't available here so all the Radio Shack sells is Sprint (no Nextel as we are in Partners market). HAHAHA They must fear that I will take all the customers!

Loaner Phones

I recently read this in another thread.

At least 10 are people I didn't even sell. But I will "sell" them a used phone for 50 bucks, but give their 50 back to them when they come in a upgrade through me.

Is this a common practice in most indirects? I have never heard of it in my area at least. But it does clear up the confusion that we get in the store. Customers come in and think that they can just purchase a FRU for $50. Where are you guys getting 'loaner' phones? Please tell me that your not using the old used ones that customers give to you.

Samsung A930 in Northern California?

Does anyone know that Best Buy in Northern CA carries this phone yet? Seem like other parts of the country already have this phone except CA. I've just called couple sale reps from local Best Buy stores and they don't have anything yet. Thanks in advance for any info

Vzw Vs Cingular solution for a phone junkie (cross posted)

So here's what I did

Loving the VZW service but really really getting frustrated with the lack of phones and crippled phones that they offer I signed up for Cingular

I dropped my VZW 4000 min plan (149.99) to the lowest available 450 min for 39.99 .. I took the 2000 min plan for Cingular @ 99.99 and added the extended night times

I usually used in the area of 3000 min .. sometimes way less but never more than 3300 .. not having a house phone it just depended on how much I had to call .. Having the ability to make unlimited calls after 7pm opened alot for me personally because working nights alot of my mins happened between 7 to 9

I didn't use my Cingular phone the first month .. just basically "tested" the signal in areas and ma...

an end to threads over verizon's politics

i realize that since we don't have a forum for verizon the wireless company that people are post here, in the VZW forum because they are concerned over verizon's cooperation with the NSA.

we do not condone verizon (the landline company's) actions, and we applaud the fact that you are concerned about the government ignore the laws and regulations set up to protect your privacy, however this is the forum for verizon wireless.

verizon wireless did not participate in the NSA's call logging program. they explicitly stated that this morning. please move all further discussion of this to the lounge.

Release dates

Do Verizon employees really not receive expected release dates on phone. Because when I called to get "any" kind of information they said that they had no release date, "we don't get that information, when it is released it will be on our site", or they don't know anything about the phone period....and are rude and act like I am crazy or something.

Thanks for any replies.

Using smoke signal

Needless to say this whole wiretapping issue is a sensitive one. I personally have nothing to hide and would like to live in a safe environment.

However, tapping phones is not the way to solve the question of national security. I mean seriously what is next? sending everyone to labor camps like the Soviets did? This government has too much money to spend on stupid things. For instance, wiretapping. How about spending money on busting drug rings, catching child molesters, alternative fuel or the basic well being of Americans?

Enough said, I shall get on top of my roof and send smoke signals to my buddies about the party this weekend. 😈

Once Again.........Ev-DO and the Nashville Area

O.K. So they are running ads all the time in the Nashville area for VCast, but we still don't have it. Does anyone know the estimated rollout date for Ev-DO in the Nashville area?

I would like a jelly donut and a cup of coffee

All this political fighting is really funny to me.

I'm hoping to seek out the Samsung a930 this weekend at Best Buys. Anyone else going to try?

snap,crackle,pop-rice crispies. No, talking on a bt headset

Hey guys hope you are all well. My question today is which phone currently offered by verizon works best with a bluetooth headset. I am stuck with a razr v3c for the next couple weeks and every bt headset I have bought has tons of static. I have used jabra bt800, moto h700, and currently the bluespoon ax2. If I got the new .04 software would that help. Thanks everyone

Benjamin Franklin Said it Best

Any man who is willing to trade freedoms for security deserves neither.

If you think that there is nothing wrong with the government wiretapping your phones, then you are naive. And if you think that it only should bother you if you are doing illegal things, you are even more naive.

Please tell me when, in the history of Earth, that a government could be trusted to not abuse power. It has never happened. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I believe that is how it goes. It's all well and good, to some of you, if they listen to your calls. But that's because you feel it's only for national security. What if, one day, ATF agents or FBI agents come crashing through your windows because...

Samsung A930 in my hand - I bought it tonight !!! NO JOKE !

Guys,

As you know , I am straight as they come.. I got my A930 tonight and I am getting ready to turn it up right now.. 7:50 PM eastern..

I am so freaking excited.. As you may know , I played with it first at CES Vegas and now it's here..

It is all black and very very very nice in your hand..

As far as features, it looks like it has the latest Voice Signal software with some voice menu things and some other voice annouceing things.. Not a big deal but nice.

Outside OLED screen is awesome and as I remembered from CES, the Keypad is the best ever. Awesome buttons with great feel and very positive key clicks.. Blows away the 950 which has the worst keys ever.

So I will begin to play tonight and report back later on this evenin...

Licensed service areas/East Ohio/N. WV panhandle?

According to Verizon's website, when you look up the "Verizon Wireless Network" in eastern Ohio, it looks like VZW has obtained a license to have coverage in Guernsey County, OH in the Cambridge, OH area. This was formerly an Alltel area only for CDMA service.

It appears that Verizon is expanding in this part of the country along the I-70 corrider, but does anyone know about Belmont County, OH and Ohio County, WV all along I-70, if this area will light up with Verizon coverage anytime soon? Or if Verizon has a license to expand to the Pennsylvania line from Cambridge, OH where they already have towers.

I hope they fill in this gap in their service sometime soon. Any info, please post.

Thanks in advance.
