No More Analog Government Regulation

I have heard the rumor that sometime in the near future (before 07) That due to the insecurity of analog signals, that the government will be "kicking" all carriers off of analog signal.

Has anyone heard this also and is their any validiy to it?

If so what is Verizons plan to combat this?

W2 Employer ID

Hey all-

I'm a former VZW employee that didn't get his W2 for some reason. I know that with TurboTax I can enter VZW's Employer Identification Number (EIN) and it will pull my W2 info automatically. Do any of you have the number? It's after boxes 12a - 12d on your W2. Thanks a ton!

IDENTITY THEFT SCAM ALERT: PLEASE READ

Dear all:

A friend of mine recently recieved a call on his T-Mobile phone from someone claiming to be from T-Mobile. My friend posted what happened on his livejournal:

"I just got a call on my cell phone from somebody claiming to be from T-Mobile and claiming to offer me a rebate. Being the suspicious person that I am, I noticed that something didn't sound quite right about the situation. He asked for my name and social security #, which I did not give. I pressed the caller for information (ie his supervisor's name, and how he had my address), and he hung up, knowing that the scam was up.

So if you're a T-Mobile customer and get a call from an unidentified number from somebody claiming to be from T-Mobile, hang up on them, or bette...

cheesy phones

Does anyone know if Verizon is planning on introducing Samsung A900 or something similar?
How about something with display on top so calls can be checked easier? Kyocera 7135 had it right but it's a bit bulky.
Recently they have been offering all kinds of cheesy handsets. (no offense to cheese)
Are they trying to cater to 5 year olds?
It almost seemed like they were on the right track with motorola v3c. However, this hanset is two years late in CDMA (with no analog fallback) and at this point other carriers are offering similar gsm v3 handsets for free. Also, this handset has no 2.5mm connector leaving only blue tooth option. Great . . . now you have to remember to charge 2 batteries ☹️

I Am using my v710 as a modem for lap top and no charge. Anyone else?

ok so here is the deal....

verizon says you cannot use any of their phones as a modem without being charged for data. They say there is no way that i use my v710 as a modem and only get charged minutes and not data time. They say that if i am connecting it is only as a dial up call and not on 1x @ 120k But that is exactly what I do all of the time... With no charges other than minutes.

So here is what i need help with???

Am i just lucky that this is working this way and who the hell knows why? Or is anyone else doing this also without using data time and just minutes?

I need to upgrade but do not want to lose this feature...anyone else using any newer bluetooth phones this way? if so which ones?

As usual verizon in store reps ...

Which would you choose??

Ok, I am currently a Cingular customer, will stay that way too. But am now seriously considering adding a Verizon account. I got 4 phones in mind, and would like some personal opinion on what some loyal VZW customers think is best. The new Vx-9800, the Moto E815, the Samsung A950, or the LG VX8100. I know this is a broad question, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

How much of this is true?

According to this, Sprint had 20,000 cell sites in 2004, adding 2000 more.
http://www.whitepaperwireless.com/o...lina/sprint.htm »

According to this, Verizon currently has over 21,000 cell sites.
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...lessNetwork.jsp »

According to this, Nextel has 28,000 cell sites and Sprint plans to convert half to CDMA in about two years. Nextel has more on East Coast, Sprint's weak spot.
http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/news/print.php/3448181 »

Sprint could exceed Verizon significantly in a couple years as it could be more difficult for Verizon to obtain more newly developed cell sites, having to go through community approvals, etc. Verizon may need to acquire another small cell provider to add sites more quickly.

Bye verizon

Verizon has lost me forever. They might be signing up a lot of people but that means nothing to me. There phones are the biggest pieces of junk I have ever used. There polices have become so restrictive you can’t use them for anything but voice. There used to be a time when verizon was the only reasonable choice for business users who relied heavily of voice calls but that time has changed. Too many rules have driven me away. Do yourself a favor and never look at any other carrier’s phones or listen to what real sound quality is. Once technology advances even more and the common cell phones users figures out how many thing they can’t do, verizon will loose their ass. Verizon blows

Porting question please

I have two lines of verizon service on a family plan. (89.99 1400min) I want to port the primary number to another carrier. At what point do I call verizon and have the secondary number switched to a single plan? Should I call first and switch both numbers to an individual account then port? Help me please.

Thanks in advance all

Verizon Interested in Vodafone's Shares in VZW

So what does all this mean? I think it would be interesting to see Vodafone buy out Verizon. And create Vodafone USA. It would make a nice change to the cell market here in the US.

VCAST Music

I was just wondering what anybody's opinions are about the new VCAST music service. I'm hoping for real opinions from people who have used it or tried it. Considering that most of the people posting in this forum are just here to complain or tell Verizon how much our phones suck or how much better GSM service is... I really can't expect much.

We've had great luck with it in our stores and my employees have the service and seem to really like it... but I understand as employees they are also hyped up to sell it.

Anyone with anything constructive to say I really would like to hear what you have to say. To anyone who is going to just hop on here and trash Verizon , hope it makes you feel better.

Thank you for all the serious posts.

NEED IDEAS FOR NEW PHONE

I have had my motorola E815 for about 4-5 months now and have been really happy with it. I am now eligible for the new every two program though so I wanted to get a new phone. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was curious about the "V" or even jumping up to the smart phones. I also have the option of waiting up to 6 months to see if anything better comes out. Does anyone know if there is anything worth waiting for or should I just settle for something now? I would appreciate the help, thanks.

Speed dial #s on my Moto v325

I didn't think I was quite *this* stupid, but I can't figure out how (or IF) the motorola v325's speed dial helps you, once you set the speed dial #s. Am I missing something?

On my old Samsung, if I assigned, say, speed dial number 22 to a certain phone number, I'd press 2-2 and hold the last digit, then the speed dial would kick in and dial the programmed #.

Speed dial also doesn't seem to affect the arrangement of the Contacts list on the v325. Apparently you can't alter the Contacts list at all on this phone--unless I missed something else.

Is there any actual advantage to assigning speed dial numbers on this phone?

Thanks for any information you can provide.
