i am about to renew my verizon contract. i have my phone picked out (Nokia 6255i / 6256i) 😁

i will need wireless internet access for my laptop in the near future and am wondering what kind of plans are available...in other words, whats the best bang for the buck for cell and wireless internet access....I will definetly use the internet more than my phone (i use under 400 min a month)...anyone have this?

i will be using the service in NY,NY and long island.

if you have a phone with email (say the moto q), does it cost airtime to retrieve your email/surf the web. or do u neeed a separate internet plan on top of your phone plan

please explain the following.
i live in riverdale NY. the reception outside, on the street, is good with several verizon phones and 2 friends cingular. when i try to use the phones in my appartment building or a local school (ps81), verizon starts to get poor voice quality, drop calls, or no signal. cingular works perfectly. i was told by verizon CS that i have a verizon cell tower about .5 miles from me. why is there such a difference.

any ideas???

Hey i have the nokia 6236 and i entered in something for the banner to display. then only problem is the banner doesnt show up ever. anyone else had this problem?? know how to fix it

For customers like yourself there is not a thing any Vzw rep could say that would 'soothe' your wounds over such a grievous display of raw power and abuse of customer trust. Did I sum up your thoughts on Vzw's choice to generalize the ui and restrict the bluetooth. You poor thing I hope you find what you 'need' at the other carrier.

On other notes why is there so many trolls on this forum. I came to phonescoop to help people out and alls I ever here is the same 5-6 people derailing any legit thread with their own petty issues.

One thing that bugs me about half of you, is you don't understand how cellular companies discount phones.

People whine everyday about early term fee's.

Do you have any idea WHY there is an early term fee? Let me explain,

When you get a phone from Verizon and start service, lets say a free phone. Do you think Motorola stops by and gives them 20,000 free phones? The cell phone fairy is dropping by guys!

No. That does not happen. Even a the lowest end free phone that you recieve, costs Verizon over $200. Thats how much they pay. They subsidize the cost of the phone (or discount it) so you don't have to pay some outrageous amount to start service with them. Thats how it works with all cellular companies.

Can I use a CDMA phone bought from another country?

i.e. My bf has Cingular. He regularly buys phones from Asia and just puts his card in and it works. He saw a phone, CDMA that he thought I'd like from Korea. But wasn't sure how our system worked.

I know typically you can buy a CDMA phone and activate it by calling VZW or online. Can it be done with a phone bought from Korea (whose system is mainly CDMA)?

I know I've had this question answered before but, I forgot.
Now that Verizon has bought out Cell 2000 and all Cell 2000 customers are now VZW customers... if an old Cell 2000 phone says 'Cell 2000...' on the banner rather than 'Verizon Wireless' would they be considered roaming?
I know VZW's current plans don't charge for roaming, just curious.
I'm also wondering if anyone knows of a way to fix that... get the banner to say 'Verizon Wireless' rather than 'Cell 2000'

What do you think of the new data packages Verizon is offering on Monday?

$10 unlimited in with 500 extra messages is a lot of extra messages. We here in nowhere wyoming might have a lot of trouble selling that plan.

I had a lady come in saturday complaining about her 150.00 rebate that she had to wait 180 days for. She could not understand why VZW wouldn't back this rebate and wirefly was telling her that she didn't meet all the qualifiers...they said she sent it in 2 weeks too early and disqualified her. Of course when she was looking to buy that phone and we were 100 dollars higher (because of that 150 rebate) it was a DEAL she just couldn't pass up. But now she wants us to take care of her and contact wirefly and everything! What NERVE!

ok, enough about the equipment peeps, how about the policies/fees/etc. i do customer srvc for vzw. luckily, i'm an outsourcer who is not actually employed by vzw and our contract is up with them on 2/28 (two weeks left...yay!!) anyway..... im a little annoyed about the "worry free guarantee" they have. on 2/5/06, they begain a policy that ANY plan change will extend your contract. moving up/down in minutes? cant unless u take a new contract. its BS. i'm a vzw customer and it was nice knowing any new chgs b/c i'm a cust serv rep but that is rediculous! and $20 to change an ESN..all we do is add/remove some numbers in the damn system and the cust does the rest. i was never really so Pro or so Con about any paticular carrier (and i thi...

My new every 2 kicked in last month. I would of went with a RAZR but it seems everyone has one nowadays. Im actually wating for the A930 by Samsung to come out but it seems like its takign forever, people say first quarter but I think its doubtful. Does anyone have any info on this??

How good is the internal antenna compared to a external atenna in signal capturing, seen a customer complaining about how he had the samsung a950 being an internal antenna phone that when he holds the phone by the side, by rubbing or laying his index finger the side part the internal antenna his calls gets static and eventually drops the call.....I like external antenna....yes?

I was just curious as to whether the Opera Mini Web Browser would work on a Verizon phone? Or does Verizon have this blocked as well??? Does anyone know?
