VZW Customer service call backs?

Has anyone recently been contacted by a person claiming to be a representative of Verizon Customer Service, stating that because you (the subscriber) has called 611 in the last month they are calling to make sure that your customer service questions were answered and/or that you do not currently have any problems or issues that still need to be resolved. Or is this a scam?

Help with activation on Verizon phone

Hi. My name is Kate. I'm from PA. One of my friends recently gave me his cell phone (Samsung SCH-N330) because he can't afford his $700 bill. However, I can't activate the phone because of the delinquent account. Does anyone know of a way around that so I can activate the N330 under my account? I'm considering also selling the phone. I don't know. I've almost had 22 months with my current phone so I believe they'll give me a new one upon signing a new contract and all. But either way, is there a way to make this phone able to be activated? Any info. would be a great help! Thanks!

data plan

I am thinking about getting this phone, because of its email capabilities. The only thing holding me back right now is the expensive data plans. I would be reading and writing emails frequently throughout the day (I do not plan on browsing the internet much on the phone). I will not pay $45 dollars a month for a data plan...too expensive, but I am thinking about getting the $25 data plan. Any suggestions about how much 10MB will get you, as far as email everyday and limited web browsing.

Also, if the 10MB data plan isn't enough, is the unlimited VCAST plan ($15) worth getting to read and write email each day.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Just a phone please

I have been a cell user for years, long before VW was on the scene in the south east, in fact I became a customer of thiers when they bought or merged with BAM. Over all that time using cell phones I have never been as pissed as I am now. What has got me going is the phone selection available from VW and constant lies from thier sales reps. You can get tons of gadgets and crap but you can't find a plain solid reliable phone. So here I sit stuck with my old worn-out startac that thier idiots try to tell me doesn't work as well as the new phones, but at the same time I find friends and co-workers who are also with VW are amazed that my phone works in places where thiers does not. Then thier sales rep attempted to run off with stats about "the ...

something POSITIVE

To all Verizon employees

I made a quick trip to the verizon store last night to pick up a leather case for my razr, and as usual greeted with a friendly voice and someone ready to assist me. Every single time I've had any problems I'm helped in a prompt manner with no hassle. One time I was even given a free battery. And the same thing can be said about 611. I was having trouble signing up online for the Merits program, called 611 and they had to transfer me, the guy stayed on the line with me to make sure I got connected. I been a customer for 8 years for a damn good reason, you guys kick ass.

Thank you

Gunny 🙂

do people know how to parent their children?????

i love it when customers call up and flip out on us when their children rack up the bill. its our fault b/c we shouldnt allow txt on all phones or we didnt tell them that its able to be blocked. its called asking about it...do we seriously need to hold your hand thru everything. or they think we can cap mins/txt once it reaches the allowance. or they flip out b/c the highest txt plan (what it used to be) is $20 for 2500 and we dont offer anything more. and their bill is $500+. its our problem b/c we chrg too much...its called parenting, dont keep adding more mins or txt plans to accomodate your kids, its called punishment...take the phone away so they learn.

and these premium txt/dloads....anyone have any encounters with those...

verizon looking for a new president

verizon's text plans suck now......they're phones suck now.....plans suck, stores suck, everything about them sucks.....oh my god am i sick of hearing this...if you don't like them please just leave. i have a hard time believing that everything about them sucks, considering they add more business and lose less than anybody else out there. it sounds to me like all you people should apply to run the company, cause you sure know everything there is to know......well not really but you like to think so. so here, do us all a favor, stop complaing and leave if you dont like it. complaining will get you nowhere, cause no one wants to listen about things that can't be changed. i hope i persuaded some of you whiners to leave, and the others who are j...

4th Quarter Numbers and a few questions from a n00b

I was bored at work and reading through the different forums of different wireless cell phone carriers and I was going through Cingulars when i came upon a forum talking about the 4th quarter numbers of Cingular in 2005. First off here they are:

Churn; 2.1%, postpaid at 1.9%
1.8 million Net new subscribers in the 4th quarter of 2005
54.1 million Total customers on the Cingular’s network
Voice arpu= $48.86.
Data arpu= $4.71

So now for the questions.

1.) Wat does this all mean? For example wat are/is "churn"; "postpaid (as in contract vs. prepaid?)"; "Voice arpu"; "Data arpu"

2.) Wat were Verizon's Numbers for the 4th quarter of 2005, as I work for them and would like to know more.

3.) How do you compare these number...

The Deal With The UI.

I liken the ui to a steering mechanism. Look at the car you drive. It has a round steering wheel. Did the manufacturer assume you wanted it to be round, or do you believe lots of experience and research over the years made it that way. The average driver has no problem with the concept of the wheel. It's round you turn it. Now lets say you are a fighter pilot or helicopter pilot. Your knowledge and ability makes you more mechanically adept than the average driver. Do you think that the major car manufacturers should start using a pedal and joy stick turning mechanism? I would say not. The VZW ui is just that. We now have over 51.3 million customers. In dealing with our customers we found it challenging over the years to troubleshoot and educ...

Every company has their supporters and detractors

I don't appreciate verizon and their control freak ways. The ui is horrendous and I don't like it. It's funny how you verizon heads stick together and never think outside the box. Throughout the years verizon continues to strip away more and more functions of my handset. What is the straw that will break the back of the verizon sheep herd? More BS restrictions are coming your way. Believe dat

Just my .02 cents

Can you recommend a good VZW Bluetooth phone?

I'm looking for a new VZW phone with Bluetooth capabilities. I recently got the new Nokia 6256i and I didn't have a very good experience with it. I don't know if I just got a defective phone cuz other people seem to rave about it, but I don't know if I want to try another. The reception wasn't as good as my old Nokia w/o Bluetooth and within 3 weeks, the lighting on my keypad had completely disappeared.

Now looking for a new phone. Thinking about the Samsung SCH-A970 or LG VX-9800. Anybody have any thoughts/comments/good or bad experiences with these phones that they would like to share?? Any other VZW Bluetooth phones that you would recommend?

Thanks so much!

Why cant' Canadian CDMA Phones get on Verizon

A friend of mine from Canada used to roam around the USA on Verizon's network for years on Bell Mobility and Telus CDMA phones.

But when he wanted to move the phone to their network permanantly, Verizon said "No way, it won't work on our network because of security reasons". Korean subscribers roam here on CDMD every day. What's the security logic??

I thought about terrorism control but got stumped when I learned that foreigners can roam our network any time they want to.
