OK Dumping Cingular ------have some questions.

Been shopping Verizon and Sprint and have some questions for you guys.

ON the web site they offered me an E815 for $150 -50rb and a free Samsung and 60.00 in activation fees.

Radio Schack offered me the E815 for $100 a free Moto 256 and some accesories and no activation fees on a $69 family plan

What am I missing here?

I have not been to a Verizon store but Im guessing it will be much more expensive to get in as web deals are usually better. Have not looked at Amazon yet.

Nokia 6256i - ANyone know a real date ??

First it would be great if phonescoop would break out the Nokia 6256i from the other carriers. It's too difficult to read through posts that don't concern this phone on this carrier.

So when is this coming ?

Any Verizon people want to tell us ??

Actually used the VZW Razr last night

I personally used the VZW Razr last night at our VZW meeting, it should be out by the end fo next month, the phone has the new UI and is the same size as the GSM version, the reception was decent, not as good as the 8000 I compared it next to however (maybe new software will help before it comes out) I dont know a price for it but it is a VERY good looking phone.

Motorola Q

Hello All:

Quick Question, last time I was here I was looking for a CDMA phone similar to the new blackberries that are offered on T-Mobile. I think I have found it, and rumor has it that it will be released in the first quarter. Anyone know if this is true? Here's an article I found:

Bluetooth upgrade?

If, (and a BIG if at that) VZW allows full blown bluetooth capabilities on the upcoming Nokia 6256i, will the other bluetooth phones like the E815 or the V710 be allowed to upgrade to full strength bluetooth? 😁

Hurriciane Wilma-Which provider's service works?

I have two relatives in the same apartment in south Florida, in the middle of the aftermath of hurricaine Wilma. They have no power and regular phone service does not work. The relative with the Sprint cellphone still cannot make calls on it (only once or twice did her call go through, and even then what was said by her was so choppy that it was unintelligible). The relative with the Verizon cellphone was able to use the phone with no problems at all until her battery finally died. Now, they have no means of communication, but, hopefully, power will be restored before too long.

Will Verizon Ever Get the RAZR or anything like.......

it is rather disconserting to see that Verizon has not taken the initiative and gotten the phone. It would do incredibly well.

Does anyone know anything about this??

e815, v-cast phones in general, and bluetooth

Okay, being the senior tech at a VZW store and I'm stumpped.

I had a customer come in today with an 815, a 820 bluetooth earpiece, with problems with an echo. whoever called him would hear themselves talking. The customer had said that a preious rep told him it was a known issue with v-cast phones and was in our store for a second opinion. The only phone/earpiece i knew had an issue was the vx8100 and the hsb850 for the same problem (using a jabra or an hsb830 is ok, software patch to be released to resolve, no eta) I asked the mgnt and a few of the sales reps who have 815s if anyone ever complained about a reverb when they are called. everyone said no. I would have assumed this as either a handset/earpiece problem given the discription o...

Charging Port Rubber Plugs

I just lost the rubber charger port plug 2 days ago and I have tried everywhere I can think of (VZW stores, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc...) in my area and I cannot find the little things anywhere.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction??? I can't stand not having that thing in the bottom of my phone.

Motorola V710 or LG VX4650

Okay people, I need your input again. Verizon has the Motorola 710 for the same price as the lg4650. I know the Motorola has all the bells and whistles but is it the better phone of the two for reception, ease of use and battery life? It seemed like a no brainer to me until I started thinking exactly what we use a phone for and thought I better ask for some other users input. We really don't care about the camera and bluetooth, but if it's there for the same price, who knows? Thanks, once again.

Just curious???

Shortly i will begin training and I was wondering which phones do you guys recommend. I have been doing GSM for the past 5 years and I know the Motorola are not the best and Nokia are great. With Verizon service being as good as it is does it really matter?

Bluetooth profiles

I would like to use the full capabilities of the Bluetooth handsfree system in my Lexus RX400h, but Verizon has crippled the Bluetooth profile on all the phones and Lexus does not fully recommend even one Verizon handset.
Has anyone had any luck 'importing' or replacing the Verizon Bluetooth profile with one that works? I'm ready to switch to Cingular or T-Mobile, both of which have Lexus approved handsets.

Blackberry 7100 series with Verizon?

I currently am a Verizon customer and travel about half of the month throughout the entire US. Verizon consistently has the best coverage in most areas. Now, here is my dilemma.

I want a Blackberry. Not the old (clunky) BlackBerry but the new 7100 series BlackBerry. I would have the best of both worlds, being able to use this device as a phone and also being able to retrieve my email (pushed). I know that the 7100 series currently offered is GSM and will not work on the Verizon network. For that reason, I am tempted to switch to Cingular and buy a 7100G. What I really want to know is there a 7100 series or another Blackberry on the horizon that I should wait for. I really don’t want to switch carriers and am willing to wait a few...

VZW Q3 results. When?

Why is VZW taking so long to release 3Q results? Did they add that many customers that it's taking them all this time to release their numbers....?

Dumb people

Okay, I know I posted on this before, but I fell this bears repeating.

This guy came in, phone scratched, pit-marked and had a chewed antenna. As he pissed and moaned about his lousy reception and horrible service, he's holding his phone by the antenna. Anyhow. I try to explain to this !#@!@# that 1> his phone is too damaged to exchange and 2> if his holding his phone by the antenna and waving it like a retarded monkey is normal, that's prolly the reason why he has no service on his phone. Does this pissant listen, take a look at his behavior patterns and come to a realization of "hey, this is a serious piece of electronics. Maybe I should take better care of it?" No. he desides to raise his voice and wave his phone more. I could have cou...
