EVDO Coverage

Yesterday I was in Hartford,CT and noticed my Motorola E815 went from 1X to EVDO coverage. I could not send or receive pic messages. As soon as I got back into an area where my phone said 1X I could download my pics. Why is this? EVDO not a pic messaging area? Thanks.

Is Google "IN"?

OK I know they are not but I wish they were because I just realized I can send a text to 46645 (googl) and receive an answer in seconds. Great for addresses, number listing, movies etc. Works better and faster than Superpages and very accurate.

Example-Text the word "pizza" and your zip code. I received a reply in under 20 seconds with 6 addresses and phone numbers.

I know I will use this service alot. Can someone tell me if there is an unlimited text plan coming soon. If not what is the best plan out there now? I have the IN plus 500 currently but was wondering if there was a plan where I could get more texts.

Verizon IN-Crowd: Phone Question

Let me preface this thread: please don't respond that you hope something comes out or that you are not really sure.

The Samsung 970 and 950 having been the most recently released high-end Verizon phones (I guess the LG-9800 as well - but that doesn't interest me) along with the LG-8100 and Motorola 815 - all seem to be fairly close to one another (each has its pluses and minuses) -here's my question. Have you (Verizon employees) received word or are you aware of any new phones coming out in the next six months that stand a good chance of being better than the group noted above (I'm not interested in equal but definitely better).

Thanks

For those of you unfortunate to be behind a corp firewall:

Verizon expected to lead pack in Q3 customer adds
By Dan Meyer
Oct 10, 2005

With little more than a week until wireless carriers begin releasing third-quarter results, industry analysts continue to fine tune their quarterly predictions. Those updated forecasts generally are calling for more robust customer growth than originally anticipated, though most expect total growth from the industry's nationwide operators to fall short of the more than 5.2 million customers added during the second quarter.
Among individual operators, most analysts are betting heavily on Verizon Wireless running far ahead of its competition in s...

New Blackberry/Treo; opinions?

I was curious if there was anything new coming out as far as a blackberry/treo option? I like the idea of a blackberry and its ability to receive email seamlessly but I would also like a phone that can handle everything (appointments, contacts, play video/mp3). Any thoughts??

Verizon, T-Mobile Tops In Retail Sales Satisfaction

https://www.rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=24402 »

For those behind the ol' corporate firewall:

Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile USA fare best in retail sales satisfaction
Overall consumer dissatisfaction on the rise

By Dan Meyer
Oct 5, 2005

Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA Inc. provide the highest retail sales satisfaction among the wireless industry's six largest operators, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Wireless Retail Sales Satisfaction Study.

The study was based on the experiences reported by 6,144 wireless users who completed retail sales transactions within the past six months and measured overall customer satisfaction performance of the major wireless carrier-branded stores based on a handful of factors, ...

treo 650 vs blackberry

hi all. I just got a treo 650 so I can get email on the road. yesterday I couldn't get email or web though. in rural maryland. here are my questions: 1. would I have any wider email coverage if I were using a bb instead of a treo, or are they both dependant on the eaxct same network? 2. how does verizon's data coverage compare to other carriers? I love me VZW voice coverage, but is data the best? I don't really want to pay to get out of my service contract but i'd like to know how vzw compares. thanks...

Verizon Qualities Vs. Other Carriers

Verizon is getting some Nokias and I know that Verizon supports CDMA, but what other signs should I look for that would tell me if a phone would be supported or not supported by Verizon?
Examples, Java...Is that not Verizon? Okay, what is? What isn't...give me some signs!

Trying to figure out if the 6265 could be a VZW phone. UofDVZW screams it is, but what should I look for in future potential Verizon phones that would or would not make it Verizon?

Thanks 😁

POLL: The 6256i... Would You Buy It If They Crippled The Bluetooth?

I'm still waiting for the Nokia 6256i, and there are some indications (from things like manuals and call-out cards) that it will be the first Verizon phone released with uncrippled Bluetooth.

But still... no one knows for sure that Verizon will do the right thing. The 6256i could conceivably come out with the same old crappy crippled BT, which is the one thing I really don't like about VZW.

So my Poll Question: If VZW crippled the Bluetooth, would you by this phone? Yes or No?
