Motorola V60p

I'm not too much of a buff in the CDMA field, but I was wondering, does someone who has a push-to-talk capable phone, HAVE to be on a push-to-talk plan? Say if I bought a Motorola V60p and brought it into a store to activate it with VZW, would I have to be on a push-to-talk plan? Or could I just activate it under a regular plana nd not use the PTT?

New VZW customer happy

Hi,
This is a follow-up post. Just wanted to thank everybody for all the info.

I had never had a cellphone (other than tracfone) so found the whole process intimidating. Doesn't help that the literature says things like "your plan may do X" and "your plan may do y." I could never figure out what was exactly in my plan.

Turns out it really was a bit complicated. Since I'm a govt employee buying a private plan, there was a special deal and requirements so it took me a half day of phone calls to get to the right person who could help me.

During the whole process, EVERYONE I spoke to at VZW was unfailingly polite and helpful (and I required a LOT of help - starting with locking myself out of my phone on day one).

I kept waiting for ...

Verizon 6256i is here - Mini review and yes Speaker Phone works when closed!

The phone is here and it is pretty darn nice.

I just activated it and started to play with it about 1 hour ago.. Give me till tonight to post some good stuff about it.

So far here is what I can tell you..

The keypad is the first thing I noticed I liked very much. Big keys and a great tactile feel.

Speaker phone is the best I have seen. People can not tell at all if you are on the earpiece or speaker. I have tried this with 5 people already and they have no idea. This is very good.

The menu system is nice and kind of samsung like. It's not the new LG type crappy menu. It's their own and I like it.

The graphics are very good with awesome colors and really nice text. The font they use is very good.

BLUETOOTH IS ENABLED 100%...

According to my Nokia inside source, the Nokia 6256i was approved yesterday for sale by Verizon! I have no other details at this time, other than it was approved. Stay tuned.

Phone Number Help

I just switched over to Verizon a couple days ago. I keep getting calls for this one guy and I get Spam text messages. I guess that this was a previously used number. Is there a way for Verizon to provide me with a brand new number so I don't get this again?

Why should I go with Verizon over everyone else?

Lookin for a carrier. At first I thought I was gonna go with T-Mobile (cheap) or Cingular (lots of coverage), but then I hear that T-Mobile just doesn't have the coverage. Cingular looked pretty good, but readin 'tween the lines it seems like a lot more people are signing up with Verizon than Cingular for some reason.

So whats the 411? Why is everyone runnin to you guys, what are the advantages and disadvantages? In other words, what makes you "all that".

I am very Impressed by Verizon Wireless in these 3 quarters of 2005

I wanted to say that because they need all the credit in the world for offering not so great products but the BEST NETWORK in the United States, however, I feel that without this BEST NETWORK they would be not gaining much because of that lacking of products. It also shows that Cingular continues to struggle well after the merger with Att Wireless and I think they are struggling for a few reasons and they are that 1. Their network is not very big and 2. Verizon and sprint are taking a lot of customers away from them. I do give kudos to Verizon for doing such a great job with marketing their differentiator and I am impressed with their great 1.9 million-subscriber growth for the past 2 quarters and in the first quarter with around 1.6 or s...

Verizon Wireless booms with 1.9 million net adds (RCR News)

Verizon Wireless booms with 1.9 million net adds
By Dan Meyer
Oct 27, 2005

NEW YORK-Verizon Wireless continued to dominate its competitors during the third quarter by adding more than 1.9 million net customers. The strong growth was a 15-percent improvement compared with the 1.7 million the carrier added last year and handily trumped the 969,000 direct customers added by Sprint Nextel Corp. and the 867,000 customers added by larger rival Cingular Wireless L.L.C.
Verizon Wireless noted that it has added more than 7 million customers through the first nine months of this year, and that it ended the third quarter with 49.3 million total subscribers. Cingular ended the third quarter with 52.3 million total subscribers, while Sprint Nexte...

The continuing saga of the mysterious Nokia 6256i...

Well, kids, according to the Nokia website, if you search for the model itself, you will find that it is no longer "not available", but rather "coming soon", and if you want to be notified as to how soon, you can plug in your e-mail address and they will notify you. Sounds as though it's coming quite shortly.

About time.

Hi I just got a VX-9800 for 349 plus a 50 dollar mail in rebate. I have been a customer for nearly three years so I am eligible for the New Every Two would that mean I was supposed to get an additional $100 dollars off or was the pricing right? Thanks for your help.
