Why does the Storm suck?

What gives BB/Verizon? I've had the Storm for a total of 7 months and have replaced it 5 times. Called yesterday and canceled my service. I'd rather pay my $140 ETF over of my $130+ phone bill monthly for a phone that doesn't work. So promising, when it works I love it. Now I've got a Palm Pre with Sprint, employee plan and phone provided by Sprint... Going to retire my Storm and use it is a media device. Damn, I really loved the BB functionality with a touchscreen.

New Branding?

Why are all of the newest Verizon Wireless ads re-branding as "Verizon" instead of "Verizon Wireless"? I thought Verizon was the landline and Verizon Wireless was the cellphone side.... no?

HTC Incredible

Hello everyone! Over the last month or so, I have been thinking about getting the HTC Droid Eris. Until today, that was what I wanted; but I looked at the HTC Incredible screen shots and I thought it was amazing. The screen is big, the phone has dual flash, and an optical trackball. The Android 2.1 is wonderful too! I am really excited about this phone coming to Verizon, but I have no idea about the price or the time it will come out. I'm hoping that it will come out in March and it will be decently priced. I hope that it is in March because Verizon is doing the "buy one, get one free" for all of Verizon's 3G smartphones. I've hear many people say that they think mid-March will be when it comes out. What does everyone else think about the da...

Simple feature phones

I just checked Verizon's website for what it calls "simple feature phones" to ascertain what is available if one wants a phone with some features (such as a qwerty keyboard, for instance). There are really slim pickings available. I don't know how Verizon intends to keep such customers. Maybe it figures that however many they lose will be offset by those that the reps can talk into accepting a data plan. It's apparent, though, that Verizon is not interested in servicing customers who just want to talk but want a nice phone for whatever reason.

iPhone for T-Mobile

An interesting post on the tmob site about the liklyhood of them getting the iPhone (sorry Scott, I don't make this up I just report it). The more I read the more it seems probable; we'll see.
At any rate the rumors about Vz getting it have pretty much died down.

Droid for $50 on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002UUTCKC/re ... »

Amazon is offering the Droid for $50. I'm pretty sure I want this phone for two of my family share plan lines but I have a question.

Amazon only lets me upgrade one line at a time. Does the $29.99 data plan I have to buy only cover that line or can I call up Verizon later to have that cover everything?

Will Verizon Absorb Sprint ETF For New Subscriber?

I know someone thinking about porting two lines (one of them a Blackberry) from Sprint to Verizon Wireless. Of course Sprint would want a large early termination fee.

Will Verizon absorb that cost (possibly free months or lower equipment price) to attract a new account?

Frustrated with Network Extender

I'll be calling tech support on this, but I wanted to bounce this off the forum walls first. At home, I have 0-1 bars of 1x on average. I've had a Network Extender for several months and I get a full 4-5 bars with it.

Recently, the people I call (or who call me) complain of warbling, garbling or other voice issues. It sounds fine to me, but not to the other party. If I unplug the extender, the calls sound better (just lower signal strength) This impacts all of our phones.

Samsung Omnia II
Samsung Intensity
LG Dare
LG EnV 2

Does anyone have any tips/tricks or suggestions I may try before spending an afternoon with tech suport?

At great risk I'm sure..

I'd like to ask the age old question as I've searched the archives and didn't see exactly what I'm looking for, a basic phone for my wife. One without a data plan. I've found the W766 and the LG8360. Am I missing any others? I myself am going with the Rock as I am a firefighter and this one seems like the best option with the best reviews. But I ask in all humility, what say you much smarter people than myself? Thanks! 😁

Text Msg time stamp

If your phone is off and someone sends you a text you'll get it once you turn you phone back on. So is the time stamp of that text of when you recieved it or when it was sent? 😕
I'm leaning towards when you receive it.

Verizon should make good ono their own mistakes!!

Here's a story. I went to upgrade my phone on January 11th to the Env3 for a one year contract. I used a gift card to order it online and knew that I would have to kick in some extra because the gift card wasn't enough which was fine. I submit the request using the gift card and it says order submitted. I knew that couldn't be right because I owed money. Long story short the rep tells me the system can't handle two cards and then proceeds to tell me I will be hit with a $25 fee if kicks out. I told him to cancel the order which he did. I tried going in the next day to order it and it says the order is PENDING. So the rep says it takes a couple of days to clear. I tried for 5 days to upgrade and I couldn't because the order was still in a PEN...

Well....

Well... I have been a loyal customer of Verizon for quite awhile now and I just renewed my contract with Verizon by upgrading to the LG enV Touch in September, ok, freakin SEPTEMBER! Well this phone has been giving me problems left and right, it keeps glitching on me and I hate that! I have called them several times, I have replaced it three times already. They offered me the Samsung Rogue, or the LG enV 3. I had a samsung alias before, as well as my ex fiancee, we BOTH had to exchange our phones at least 4 times each. I will never go back with Samsung. LG, I am already having problems with the LG enV Touch which is newer than the enV 3, why would I downgrade? Well Verizon has offered the HTC Eris at $149.99 with a $100 mail in rebate. I thi...

4G

Just curious... I couldn't find my answer anywhere.

I know that VZW and AT&T are going LTE and Sprint is stickig with WiMax. Is anyone else going with WiMax so Sprint has a roaming partner? Or, are they alone? Even if it's a regional carrier, are any of them going WiMax?

No more Unlimited Txt?

I was looking at VZW site just a bit ago and instead of unlimited txt it now says 5000 txt PLUS unlimited mobile to mobile for $20.

When did they change this and why? Yes 5000 is a lot but it's always nice to have unlimited.
