vzw and att in cahoots?

so a few years ago vzw started unlimited voice at $99.99. the next day, att had the same plan. history repeated itself last week as vzw slashed it's unlimited talk price by $30 and att followed suit the very next day.

now- a multi billion dollar corporation has to do a lot of thinking before it drastically cuts its pricing. forecasting, regression models, excel sheets galore. suffice it to say, vzw didn't just decide it was good marketing...lots of forethought went into it...

so how is it possible that att can alter the plans so drastically with only 24 hours of lead time?? how come it takes vzw weeks, if not months, to decide that these plans are viable and suit their revenue models, but it takes att a day?

can anyone offer some re...

verizon commercials

i am sure you have notice the verizon and att commercials. i think it is funny how att cant even put out a good commercial. let give a fat guy postcard to throw on a map so it will cover the united states so people will think we work every where. verizon has all the best ones that are funny the Santa work shop my fav. one is the football game where i blocks tv. att can only get a fat out of work actor. now i know this will be swamped with hate mail from att people and i have a theory on that also. you guys never have customers in you store. you are so bored that this is the best thing you have to do. have funny being and always staying number 2.

bring on the BS hate mail. we all know it lies like your commercials

Lg ENV2 will not ring

I used my env2 for a few months after I bought it. All of a sudden the speaker stopped working. The ear speaker works, but the interior speaker does not work. No ringtones, no sounds, no speakerphone. I used bitpim and thought that was the culprit so I did a complete reset of the phone. It still does not work.

Any suggestions?

What To Do?

I have posed this question a million and one times and now here it is again....I am do for an upgrade in March and was wondering if anything new is coming down the line? I have read all sites (Phonescoop, Phonearena, The Boy Genuis Report, Crackberry) but nothing seems to stand out to me. So for all in the know like the Corporate Verizon peeps that can share something good for me....I would appreciate it. I saw the Palm phones online and one of them looks kind of like an odd shaped flip up phone.

Thanks

Moto Droid, 3rd times a charm

3rd time must be a charm. 😲
I'm on my 3rd Moto Droid and I'm much happier with it than I was with the first two. 😎
I had bought the first two off Ebay and even with the upgraded software, was unimpressed with the ear piece quality as a phone.
Went to a VZW store and said I want to buy a new one outright, and it's much better than the first two... 😕
I will say talking to others on VZW there still is some clipping which must be "the network" since this doesn't happen talking to others on different networks.
But I will give Moto props because more than once people on the other end have paused because they thought the call dropped, while on the phone (not speaker)Moto really dose a good job of cutting out background noise on my end. :...

VZW has 91.4 million customers now.

"Verizon Wireless has the most retail customers of any U.S. carrier, and added 2.2 million new lines during Q4 — almost all of which were post-paid customers — bringing their total customer base to 91.4 million."

"...the company also said data revenue, from services like text messaging or browsing the Web, was up 31 percent, to $16 billion, largely driven by increased use of services and data plans by cellphone customers. Additionally, wireless data revenue represented a larger share of all service revenue, 32 percent compared with 26.5 percent a year earlier." ---N.Y.Times

I haven't heard much about this. Did your CEO McAdams brag about this at the kickoff today, VZW employees? It makes me wonder how many subscribers A...

In 2.5 hours

In 2.5 hours we'll be able to put much of the speculation about what's in store for Apple to rest. This topic has consumed most of the conversation on many tech and mobile related sites, and while the conversation will likely increase in the wake of what's actually announced, at least in a few hours we'll all know (or think we know) what's we're talking about.

Please help me with this plan.

I currently have 4 lines. I go through about 3,000 text a month. about half are "in network". The rest come from a few out of networks but mostly facebook. I have a second line that goes through about 2000 texts, over half are "in network" and weather alerts. Then I have the last two lines that don't text, or use any data. They only use night and weekend minutes or make emergency calls. We're boring .. lol, and pretty much go through an average of 150 minutes per month. My husband would like to get a blackberry for him and myself. I figure that once we have the data plans it will cut back on our texting so an add on plan for that will work? We currently have the "Talk & Text" for 700 minutes. We would like to stay around $200 a month. What w...

did I just rip myself off?

I just added the $10/25Mb plan to my phone. not a smart phone, just a samsung alias 2. I wanted to start using mobile web and e-mail features and I was afraid that without a plan, my bill would skyrocket. when I added it,, I saw this (besides the added data plan)

Add features:

MOBILE WEB $0 $0.00
DATA ROAM RESTRICT - $0 $0.00
GENERAL IP ADDRESS $0 $0.00

Remove Features:

NATL ENHANCED SVC ACCESS $0 $0.00

this seemed OK since it was all zeroes, right?

then I started to worry, and I googled some of these things -- it occurred to me that I was getting billed for airtime instead of data before -- before I added the data plan, I had done things like browse & buy ringtones, send cameraphone pics to the web, brows...

Best app to edit registry on TP2 WinMo 6.5?

Hello!

I want to get rid of the annoying SMS Message Sent popup and have read that it requires a registry edit.

What is the best app to use for editing the registry? PHM Reg Edit is old, but is it still good for WinMo 6.5?

Also, does anyone know how to turn off the "Bluetooth disconnected" message whenever the connection to my car kit is lost, i.e., every time I turn off the ignition and leave the truck?

VZW Agents and iPhones

How are VZW agents going to feel if you get shaft like at&t agents and are denied the ability to sell the iphone when VZW starts carrying it? I hope they let you guys sell it. It really hurt our business when 50% of new contracts on at&t all were iPhones.

ATT or ?

Im with ATT right now, im in outer Phoenix,AZ. My coverage here at home is so so and question if it will be ok in other outer areas. From what I have read is that Verizon covers the outer areas of big citys, my thing is that I have been with ATT for over 6 years and not sure of the move over here??
The new pricing is a little confusing, I need phone service, emails maybe texting. I landed a new job and they will have a form we fill out on a BlackBerry and add photos to it and send it. At ATT I was looking at the BB 9700 Bold, what BB does Verizon have that is compatable to it?? If you could break down the pricing for what I need so I can better understand my cost,TY!! in advance.

LG Dare problems

I currently have the LG Dare and I am having problems with it shutting off and resetting while I am using the navigation. Is this normal?

Also, is there any way at all to get my ringtones and pictures to alphabetize themselves? I have changed the names and they don't automatically go in alphabetical order. This drives me nuts!
