Question about GPS and Data charges.

I tried to find this information on the Verizon site but I always have problems navigating and can't find exactly what I am looking for and just end up leaving.

I recently added the GPS to my phone and I was wondering how much data it uses while navigating (if any). I have the LG Dare and just the standard data package and I am worried about going over the limit for this package. Any advice?

Enough Already!

Everyone and their mother is already aware of your position on the requiring of data on phones. Simply put, if you want a smartphone then these are the plans Verizon offers for a smartphone. The same goes for Touchscreen phones with quality web browsers.

If you want a smartphone but dont plan to use those features then I am sorry but Verizon does not offer them.

Everyopne complains about requiring data but you know what? When I show a customer a smartphone and all the things they can do with a data package they either tell me 1 of 2 things.

1) That they want their phone to be able to do all that stuff and they are willing to pay for those features

2) That they dont feel they would use those features andthey want to loo...

LOOKING FOR SOME INPUT

I was thinking about giving up my bb. I am looking on going back to a phone like the env3?
My thoughts are I would upgrade my wife's phone to one also and look at giving my 13 year old my wifes phone adding to our plan. The blackberry is an extra cost of $30.00 and I thought I might be able to get away cheaper if I just use a reg phone. I still need to get email since I sell stuff on th internet but I don't need push if it is not an option for reg phones. If was to make this switch what would I be looking at for a cost per month. Is there a package deal jut for my phone for Text and email?

Thanks

How do I re-install a theme?

I accidentally deleted the "Rock and Republic black" theme on my TP2 WinMo 6.5 phone and would like to get it back. I do see a "Rock and Republic black.tsk" under Windows on phone, but have no idea what to do with it.

How do I reinstall a theme, short of reloading the ROM?

Thank you!

Palm Pre Plus

I switched to Verizon back in November 09, so I am far away from my new every two. I really am not impressed with the Motorola DROID, and I would like to get the Palm Pre Plus. When I log onto My Verizon, the online store quotes me the 599.99 price.

Outside of eBay, any places I can get this device cheeper??

Need To Vent

I am sick of all the people that come in here to talk up the iPhone. To be honest I could care less if Apple and Verizon struck a deal with the iPhone cause I have an iPod touch and hate it. Just my 2 cents

Pure Ignorance

I love all the complaining about the New VZW requirements for data. It really makes me laugh. What makes me laugh the most are the idiots that say it is Verizon greed, bad business, unethical, etc, etc, etc. Those who have play that argument are the ones that have no idea how the industry truly works.

First off...VZW, ATT, Tmobile, etc, do NOT make the phones. They only sell the service. So if the manufacturers dont make simple feature phones w/ qwerty keyboards, touchscreens, and all the fancy phone features, dont yell at the carrier. Yell at the manufacturers. The functions that those features are designed to support are data rich functions. So its not wonder the manufacturers dont wast their time and money making simple phones with th...

Verizon is Trippin

I am not liking the new plans at all. I don't think its fair to force ppl to pay $10/mo on Simple feature phones when all they wanna do is talk and text.

Now I have a 8330 and I have the $30/data plan...that part hasn't changed. I have the 900min family and friends plans and now for just $10 more per month I can get unlimited mins. I really don't even use that many minutes. I text a lot. The cheapest plan is 450mins. I can't get that plan because I will blow thru 450 mins in no time but I never use all 900 mins either on the current plan I have. How come VZW couldn't creat a plan that has maybe 550-600mins instead of just 450?

Idk man, I'm gonna research other carriers because I think I just may buyout of my contract and swi...

Data plan screw up?

Hey guys... I was doing some research as I was planning on switching over to Verizon in the net couple of months and I chose what appears to be a solid phone in the Motorola W766. I realize that a data plan is now required but the only options given was either a $29.99 unlimited or a $9.99 25mb... Those numbers sound like a smart phone plan rather than a simple 3G phone. Online screw up or legit?

New policy questions

If I buy an LG Dare from ebay and sign in to my account online to change the IMEI number to my new phone, will I still have to agree to add the $10 data plan to use this phone?

Motorola Droid hardware earpiece quality

So I myself have gone through two Moto Droids because the earpiece was worse than my LG Touch. Along with static and ticks it sounded like I was picking up everything going on in the background of the other person rather than picking up what they were saying (multiple phones).
And if I do any type of search there's tons of complaints of the sound quality.
So I'm just wondering if anyone has actually gotten a Moto Droid with good earpiece sound?

160 Char limit on SMS removed?

I just want to see if other's have heard this or not. I'm starting to see it pop up from a couple different places. I have Handcent on my phone so I don't have to worry about it, but I was wondering if this was official or not.

Working for differnet provider?

This is directed more so to people who know call center or company rules....So unfortunately Im no longer employed with Verizon Wireless. 😕 I have a great opportunity to work with T-mobile, but I have heard that there are restrictions within the wireless industry to where i cant work for another provider for 6+ months. Can anyone confirm if that is correct? Or can I take this job at T-mobile? Thanks

Upgrade Question

Okay I had the Droid Eris and returned it cause I didnt like it (Looooong Story). Anyhoo I was toying around with getting the Storm 2 and when I went online to see the options for phones I was met with the retail prices of phones. I was told when I returned the equipment everything would be reset....Is that not the case?

Potential Backlash!

I'm wondering how long these changes are going to last. I can ultimatly see many consumer advocacy groups getting involved with this change and forcing Verizon's hand... I'd be very suprised to see an immediate response from any of the major carriers. If anything I expect At&t and others to create HUGE slam campaigns of these changes....

I just can't see how these changes are going to stick around....

there almost HAS to be something else coming down the pipeline, it just doesn't make sense

Doesn't this make more sense

Obviously I don't have all the back end financial details, but I feel this make sense... given what we know

- make the 9.99 include 75mb (25mb is nothing)

- unlimted data be 19.99

- Require data on more handsets, yet be real about it... the 8360 shouldn't require data

- Get rid of the Premium Plan

- Name the plans, talk; talk and text, and talk, text, and data (old connect plan)

- keep the changes in unlimited

This just seems like a more logical change as well as one that will potentially avoid the harsh critisism that their current structure will receive.
