Game changer

So, tomorrow Tmob starts selling the HD2 and by now ya'll know Sprint is launching the EVO (what a beautiful phone; congrat's Sprint!). And what are we talking about over here? The Casio Brigade for crying out loud-sheeeshs. I swear I'm going to start sounding like Scott Howard (lol) only I'm wanting one of those two; common Vz, get the Supersonic!! Oh well, my NE2 isn't until Oct; by then all of the shouting will be over and the reviews on these two Bad Boys will be in. I'll make a decision then if I stay or go; both Tmob and Sprint in San Diego have poor coverage...sigh

April 4, 2010 marks ten years of VZW brand!

On April 4, 2010, Verizon Wireless as a brand will mark ten years!

The Verizon Wireless brand launched April 4, 2000 after Bell Atlantic Mobile and Vodafone AirTouch Plc agreed to form a joint venture wireless company the previous year.

Happy Birthday to you, Verizon Wireless! Ten glorious years!

Droid

Does anyone know or have any clue as to when the Nexus One from Google will be dropping onto the Big Red? I mean why does it take so long to get this phone when ATT and Tmobile have it already.

Thanks

Help for Consumers

I used to work for a Verizon Call Center before I went to school. Just wanted to give all you consumers out there some helpful info with your high bills. Verizon has a policy that you can get all of your minute overages credited if you just agree to increase your plan. I think the official policy was that the customer service representative would start with some low-ball credit offer like say 20% of overages and go up from there based on how upset the customer is. So -- the thing for consumers is to just agree to increase the plan but INSIST on full credit for the overages since you've agreed to increase your plan.

Ask to speak to Supervisor if need be. Most Verizon supervisors HATE talking to customers so they'll give you what you want a...

I really wonder why this site is called Phonescoop?

Should be called Phonetalk. I have never seen a scoop on here. The news is mined from other sources and usually us users provide links to anything "earth shattering". Pretty useless.

Before defending PS and bombarding me with protective comments, do you really disagree with this? 😕

Casio Brigade

Since this is the hottest phone that everybody is talking about... 😲

I dunno what the mixed messages are about in the Brigade forum but I got this phone without a data plan or ptt. Just throwing it out there for those who might be interested.

People can legitimately call this phone a brick! 🙂

From BB to Droid

I'm interested in the Nexus One, I see its a pretty beastly phone. I currently have an BB Tour. Love the functionality of it. Wish it had more "apps" but I know thats not what they are truly for. My question is should I jump for the N1 or get the Moto Droid? I mention the droid because it has a sliding QWERTY keyboard which I do like. Or is the N1 just too good to pass up on? I've had other touch screens and got used to them (Touch & Storm) but love a real KB. Thanks in advance.

How to get out of my verizon contract without paying a ETF?

I have had 6 blackberry storms over the past 8 months now and I am fed up with Verizon and their terrible phones. They gave me a droid last week and I had to take it back to the store because the operating system crashed on it. I do not think I should have to pay a ETF for everything that I have been through over the past 8 months. Can someone tell me what I can do to get out of my contract without having to pay a hefty penny. I am completely miserable with the service and phones. Thanks for any help.

More crap about Tmo and the iPhone

Oops, sorry everyone, I meant IPHONE. Anyway, Engadget has this article about this subject. I swear, and their getting the HD2, why would Apple go to Tmo? Doesn't make sense to me. The HD2 kicked Apples but on Vodaphone last year.

*****The Zombie Affect!!*****

How much of this is going on in your city?

I live in Seattle the land of the Space Needle, Starbucks, Clear 4G and Microsoft but another interesting creature lives here.

The cell phone Zombie!

You know the ones that walk around holding out their phone in one hand and Starbucks in the other. Every place they sit down they must brandish their iphone/blackberry like it's a trophy they won. Seattle is a great city full of all kinds
of great things to do, places to eat, hiking and adventures to be had, but damn it's getting a little silly. Makes me want to use just a basic flip phone
and not be one of these crazy creatures.

Can anyone sympathize with me?

My take on verizon's data charges!

I don't care I have Sprint! 🤣

But seriously you people are getting riped off! I think it's unfair that verizon is forcing data on dumb phones. The browsers on dumb phones are not worth paying data on...even the full html browser are grossly inferior to a regular smart phone. I can see if they made the data unlimited but 25MB C'mon this is verizon just bending people over. T-Mobile is not doing this. AT&T even gives you the option of just unlimited txt. They don't say you have to pick this this CRAP phone if you don't want data. They allow you CHOICE...and Sprint is certainly not doing this.

My plan with Sprint 2 BlackBerry Tour 9630 Smartphone costing me 109.99 including texting, TV, Nav etc etc.

Motorola DROID Android 2.1 update delayed

Even though we were told an update was expected to begin at noon today, it looks like a last minute bug has delayed the Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID update to Android 2.1. According to a screenshot obtained by Engadget, "The OTA software update for the Droid by Motorola is TBD. A new date will be communicated as soon as possible."
