So I read an article in the LA Times the other day that stated the large carriers are burdened by the 4000% (I think) increase in data use from mobile devices over the last year or two. The article actually said one of the carriers may consider MB caps or pricing tiers to curb heavy usage. This is like your cable company setting a limit on how much airtime you are allowed or your internet provider limiting how much time you may spend online. I think these are good analogies.

So my question is; could Verizon make a change to customers mid-contract or is their only opportunity to change the price structure when a customer re-ups or signs a contract? I am a fairly new BlackBerry user and I racked up 200mb on my last bill which would have set...

Just got back from Fye, and heard the manager talking to another customer about the Huntsville Verizon Wireless Call Center closing. That would be wild since Huntsville just opened in 2007 but I guess with the Alltel merger there were probably waaay to many reps. Anybody know anything about it? Could just be a rumor.

Hey, just ran the 5.0 upgrade on my Tour.

All went well until I went in after the upgrade and it prompted me to reboot to allow all of my apps to have their permissions set. After that reboot, my Tour just comes up with the "verizon wireless" logo and hangs there. Any ideas?

I have a LG-VX9200. I would like to add mobile e-mail to it. I don't have the data plan currently. I understand that with the 9.99 or 29.99 plan you get unlimited mobile e-mail and 25MB of data (9.99 plan). My question is when you have the 9.99 plan, does checking your e-mail pull away from the 25MB? Or is the e-mai part truly unlimited?

How long after closing account do I have to wait to sell any phone associated with the account so buyer won't have any trouble activating them on their account?

I was just reading an article from CNET (granted not the greatest place for cellphone news, I Know) and much to my surprise they was at the CTIA 2010 and stated that Verizon never really mentioned anything new on the handset front...So I ask you all....Do you all think that Verizon's lineup of phones was better a year ago than it is today or vice-versa? Granted Verizon's added some Droid phones but a buddy of mine was singing the praises of Verizon Wireless...Maybe cause he's an employee....Thoughts anyone?

Effective today, in the VZW South Area, any customer that was converted from Alltel to VZW in the merge, and is still using an Alltel device, can now upgrade to a new handset at discount pricing with a new 2 year contract.

There are no upgrade fees, and instant rebates in corporate stores on all smartphones, env3, env touch, and chocolate touch.

I've taken tons of HTC's for return over the last month (especially with the bogo on them) for poor battery life.

I talked to tech support and they pulled the, "the battery should be charged for 10 good hours prior to use." In the 4 years that I have been with the company I have never heard this stuff for lithium ion, (only nickle plated).

Is anyone else having these issue's, (and if so) what advice or knowledge can be shared?

Also, any validity to the claims made by the tech rep? I know those guys tend to have a mind of their own sometimes.

I was just over on Phonedog and saw an interesting article on ATT getting another tablet besides the iPad, called OpenTablet 7. Anybody have any thoughts about why Vz isn't getting anything like this? Any interest in these things? This looks like a pretty nice device.

I have a line on my account for her because everyone thought she should have a phone. She never used it because she was mean and refused to use it. Then she died. I've continued to pay for the line even though it has never been used. Will Verizon waive the early termination fee. I know AT&T does without requiring proof, but I have no clue what Verizon will do. I don't really have access to a death certificate because my family thinks I'm being callous when I ask for one to avoid an etf. I just don't think it's fair I have to pay for something she never wanted in the first place.

First this person who has another line under my account she accidentally downloaded a "My Local TV" thing for her phone because she got it mixed up with another thing. So she cancelled it the next day and its gone from her phone. if i have recently bought a pre and agreed to an etf, which i did and decide to buy an N1 when it supposedly comes out this month. assuming i will be able to purchase unsubsidized like the GSM version. will i be able to activate new N1 online without incurring the ETF for the Pre. it is in mint condition and i want to sell it on ebay. does the ETF follow the phone or the actual number and monthly payment, which i will still be paying.

I am currently using a Blackberry Tour, I had been using a Droid Eris up until 2/18. My billing cycle is on the 21st of every month. When I switcheed my phone from the Eris to the Tour on the 18th of Feburary they prorated some charges on my bill. Its was like 25 dollars for the Eris data plan, and then they prorated my charge for the rest of the month on the Blackberry Data plan which was like 2.25. Also, they went ahead and charge me on the same bill for the next month for the blackberry data plan. So my bill looked like this for one month Blackberry Web 29.99 3/21-4/15.
