VX4500 Software V2 Bug with Voice Scheduler Functions

Wanted to alert folks to a software bug in the voice scheduler that is caused by something in the Version 2 software for the VX4500. Phones with Version 1 do not have this problem.

Here's the issue:
1. Go to the main Voice Scheduler screen
2. Select the options (right soft key). You'll see 5 options. #1 Go to Today; #2 Go to Date; etc.
3. Select Option #2 and you'll see that nothing happens. Version 2 software disables Option #2.

What should happen? When you choose it you should get a user entry area where you can input any date and the calendar will go to that date.

Worse, the phone will sometimes freeze on this screen. You can unfreeze it but hitting the end key once (you don't have to power down the phone.)

Trimode or All Digital?

I am looking to switch to Verizon on or after May 24th. There aren't any really great trimode phones out right now, but I am concerned about getting an all digital phone since I travel once a month. I live in Texas and the traveling I do is all within Texas. I am courious as to who uses an all digital phone in Texas and what are their experiences with having or not having a signal. Thanks

Verizons Web Site Down?

At least from here I can't get to Verizon's site. It appears to be down. Can't even ping it at this point. I guess they are getting hammered with people looking for this phone. If it ever arrives.

new Verizon acquisistions

Has anybody heard rumors about VZ buying up smaller carriers? I've heard things about Centennial & MobileTel, but that was a while back & now nobody will talk about it. I'm just curious.

New PTT improvement???

Its about time that I purchase a new phone, and I am interested in the push to talk feature. The story that I get from customer support is that they are improving the service to be as fast as Nextel.

I have read that this service cannot be improved due to the type of technology used to create this service.

I am trying to get an honest answer from someone that has more knowledge than myself on this topic.

Thanks in advance,

looking for a new phone

My 2 year plan is up for Verizon and I'm looking to get a new phone. I have the old Nokia and am in definite need of a new, more modern phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't need a camera phone but would like a flip phone that doesn't cost too much!

New VZW America's Choice Plans--NOT GOOD

I just noticed that there seems to be a change in all the America's Choice rate plans. Every America's choice rate plan includes Unlimited Nights and Weekend minutes that are ONLY good in your home area! If it's a weekend, and you're out of town, you're using your anytime minutes. If you already have a contract in place, the N&W minutes still appply nationwide. But new contracts--in home area only. That's not good!

However I also really want take advantage of this in-network "promotion" that Verizon is offering now, because most of my friends are on Verizon. Does anyone know if this in-network deal will still be offered when the new phones come out in mid June. Thanks for your help.

Verizon WS new service idea

I think VZW should deliver phones themselves to the customer, or invite them to dinner, then go over the features, walk 'em through it, etc.

Calling plans should be $20 for 1000 minutes (w/ no taxes), unlmtd nights and weekends starting at 7pm, no contracts, in network calling applies everytime (including roaming), they should at least give the phones for free, maybe a credit, unlimt text and pix promotion should be never ending, billing should be in 5 second increments.

I have been a customer for many many many years and after paying all that money that is what vzw owes me. Oh yeah, about 5% of my calls drop, usually when I'm driving through a tunnel or through the desert from CA to NV--- what's up with that!!!!! VZW owes me. They sho...

Is anyone replacing phones on a regular basis?

I have been with Verizon for 16 months. I have now been through 8 phones and am going to go get my ninth today. I started with a T720 when it came out and went through 4 in nine months. They then got me a T730 and it lasted six months. Then it started to unregister itself from the network, whether or not I was on a call. They then suggested I no longer use any Motorola products due to my problems with them. I got an Audiovox 8600, but returned that in less than a week. I liked the size, but the phone book was awful and unusable. It also has the same problem as my 8900. The Sub-LCD "Verizon Wireless" banner does not allow me to see CallerID until the six seconds has passed. Very annoying and I have missed more calls than I can count. Well now...

Battery Reference Info!

Excellent battery information! Lots more info at...

Battery University

"Lithium-ion is a low maintenance battery. No periodic discharge is needed and charging can be done at random. A random charge means that the battery does not need to be fully depleted before recharge. In fact, it is better to recharge before the battery gets too low. Full discharges put an unnecessary strain on the battery. A recharge on a partially charged battery does not cause memory because there is none."

"...A partial discharge puts less strain on the battery, which benefits lithium-ion and to some extent also nickel-metal-hydride. nickel-cadmium is least affected by delivering full cycles."

I got an LG 4600!!

😁 🤣

I wanted a decent phone upgrade when my "new every two" time came and I did not want a camera phone. My wife and I both thought that the LG4600 looked good and we attempted to upgrade on the verizon website but couldn't do it. I called customer service but they told me that it was an internet only phone. I told them that I tried to get it as an upgrade on the internet but couldn't and they suggested that I try sales. They connected me to sales and I spoke to a punk who asked me why I wanted the LG4600!!!, when I could get the LG6000 camera phone and he could get it to me for free. I told him that it was very simple; I want to upgrade my phones using my "new every two" for my primary line and pay for the other phone for my w...

VZW FLASH DEMO FEATURE

Hey guys, need your help here... I am buying an lg 4400b phone to use with verizon service. Even though they're phasing the phone out and no longer display it on the verizone Phone page, my local vzw store has some in stock and I'm getting one. the problem is since the phone is no longer listed on the vzw phone page, the flash demo feature that is available with all of their phones is no longer available to me.. Surely since the phone is used by so many people using verizon, there must be a way to access the flash demo feature for this phone. Any ideas how to access it. I'd appreciate your impute, as the flash demo is alot more user friendly than the lg manual. thanks again

Show Your Support For The Merger

go to WWW.NEWCINGULAR.COM

and sign the petition, (or read more info on the merger..)

YES ITS GOOD FOR VERIZON CUSTOMERS AS WELL, SINCE AFTER THE MERGER CINGULAR WILL BE (MORE) COMPAREABLE TO VERIZON, WHICH WILL MAKE MORE COMPETITION AND LOWER PRICE PLANS ON VERIZON.

The Arrogance of Verizon

I was overseas for the past year living in Europe and was able to see the future of mobile technology. If you want to get a taste of what is to come visit T-Mobile. Verizon is still building out their CDMA network, when the rest of the world has long given up on that technology. Verizon even admits that their technology is incompatible with the rest of the world by offering "Rentals of GSM" phones on their website. What a joke.

In addition, they make thier camera phones sound great, Vodafone in Europe had this technology out for over a year before Verizon even knew what was happening in the industry. Verizon offers a single camera phone that is a piece of junk (LG VX-6000), the buttons are made for midgets, the picture quality is bad...

LG VX4500 - My Review & Recommendation

My Review of Verizon's LG VX4500

After reading many reviews on the LG VX4500, I was convincing this was the phone I will get. I had debated many times between the VX4500 vs. VX4600. The main differences between the two in my opinion are:

1) VX4500 has speaker phone capability
2) VX4600 has 256k color screen, while the VX4500 only has 64k color screen

Otherwise they are pretty much the same phone, other than the design look.

Once I got the phone, I was so much in love with it. The speakerphone feature is awesome. This was the deciding factor as to why I got the phone. I tend to be in meetings and conference calls while I drive to work. My work commute is usually approx 1 ½ hours, so having something of this nature is very impor...

New VZW

Anyone notice that recent fullpage adds by Verizon now only include the monthly price of 39.95 but no reference to the minutes.

Any reason? Has there been a change ? I don't see one on the website. Perhaps a change is coming or they would rather explain in person why the price exceeds the competition.

Don't get me wrong, I've been with VZW for 11 years and wouldn't change carriers

LG VX4500 - any good

Can any of you that have used the VX4500 provide me with some honest opinions. I wanted the 4600 but looks like VZW won't sell it.

Thanks
