So this may be one of the biggest weeks for verizon in recent history. With the combination of press releases for upcoming devices (8530, choc touch, Droid Eris, Casio Gzone Brigade), the release of an entire new platform for the company (android), and of course a sprinling of new blackberries (including whispers of a Tour 2 with a trackpad and wifi by Christmas). Verizon is poised to take over the industry and truly become in a leader in high end smartphones...Now all we need is that one "i" device, lol.

Verizon is moving in a whole new direction and with that direction comes changes to our contracts...like the new $350 ETF for smartphones. While I'm not a huge fan of this much of a jump from a $175 ETF, I do understand why they...

I had the BB Curve, and then bought the BB Tour on the day it was released from vzw. I returned my first one because of severe trackball issues. I was given a new Tour. I have been using it since then with similar problems. The trackball works fine some times, and other times it is horrible. I have done updates, cleaned the ball, increased the sensitivity, and everything else I can think of. I love the phone, but it is driving me nuts. I'd love the Tour 2 when it comes out, but I'm sure they won't swap me out. The droid and storm2 look great, but I don't know about not having a bb physical keyboard. Is my only option to get a refurb Tour? Obviously I am aware that I can buy a new phone at retail pricing, but that isn't my top choice.

Does anyone have any info on this new HTC Passion/Dragon/Desire whatever its called? I want the Droid but if this phone is going to be better I rather have that one. All i know is 1 ghz snapdragon processor, 4.3 inch screen and android OS. When is it coming out? I like the Droid a lot but should I just wait and see whats up with this new device?

I have a family plan with four phone lines. Two of the secondary lines are blackberries with data plans. I have been getting a 22% discount on my phone plan and 20% off the data plans, but that changed last month and I no longer receive any discount on the data plans.

I called Verizon and one rep told me that it was a problem with my company's discount with Verizon and that I would start getting the discount again this month. I called today after I received a new bill and was told that she was wrong and that Verizon was discontinuing employer discounts on secondary lines. Does anyone know if that is correct? Is Verizon alone or are other carriers doing the same thing?

Please forgive me folks, if this is old news, but I've been out of the loop for a while, and I only heard about this in passing.

I have heard that the iPhone will finally be made available for Verizon customers. If so, what is the launch date?

Is Verizon's 3G coverage map counting more than just EVDO Rev A? I know Verizon has a slower data network like AT&T's EDGE but I can't remember what it is called...

AT&T has a new Luke Wilson commercial which I believe is very effective. The commercial details AT&T's coverage (not merely 3G) of 97% of the population of the U.S. Since AT&T claims Verizon's 3G commercials imply no coverage in non 3G areas this may be the way they should have responded to those commercials in the first place.

I usually do not bother with you tube on a device because of the quality(unless you are on wifi). On the Droid you can view "regular" you tube quality videos or hit the options button and select view in high quality and It looks fantastic. Just thought I would share sorry if this has been talked about before, I am too lazy to look. The surprises keep coming on my droid best purchase I have made in a while.

So, I got an EnV Touch in June of this year, which brings me to June of 2011 w/this 2 year contract.

I really would like something other than the Touch, it's a brick, I like it, but darn it's big. Used to have the LGVX8700, still have it and can switch back to it, I know this.

Was wondering if any of you know if I can sign a new 2 year contract and get promo pricing on a new phone? Or, is it too soon since I've only been on this contract since June, it'll be 6 months on 12/14. Been w/the company for 11 years, that probably does not matter though.

The girl @ the Verizon store told me that I could only pay retail at this point, or go to amazon or ebay for something - but that would still be retail.

I know Verizon charges $1.99 for detailed billing per line, which is also optional. Does anyone know if that fee still applies if you opt out of paper billing and just manage your account through My Verizon, but still want a breakdown of your usage? TIA. 🙂

Well folks after careful research and what not, I think I am leaning towards the HTC Eris. Does anyone actually own of these beautiful phones? If so, Can you tell me your thoughts on it. I was leaning towards the BB Storm 2 which I know is also a great phone but dont feel as though I should have to add an additional data plan for emails and what not.

Anybody see the Verizon commercial with Santa and his reindeer? They advertise Verizon's great 3G coverage and then proceed to promote a Blackberry Curve sale. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with that?

I've tried both versions from the market and neither of them fully work. 😡
I can't get the 'repeating sounds' to work. The first (older) version only works when I turn on the screen... 😕 .
And the newer version called out for the Moto Droid 2.0 won't repeat at all.
LED works fine. Am I missing something, do I have to power cycle the phone after installing and setting up this app? 😕

Does the Droid have an eBook reader? I know that Droid has wifi,so I know that it can download with wifi, but has anyone read an eBook with it?

I am considering it because it has a large screen for reading an eBook.
