Phone Advice
Also so, i was gonna get the LG enVTouch for my phone but only problem is i need a easy access one-touch button to gmail and facebook, it was a toss up between the LG Chocolate Touch or the Samsung Rogue, but i hate getting smacked for that data package requirement thing, i know im already paying for the connect plan but i like to switch plans if i have to. So whats your pick on that?
Also i heard that people who are on unlimited data plans (i think it was a regular phone) ...

INTERNATIONAL ROAMING QUESTION
So my question is say you’re going to Italy and you buy a prepaid SIM card from say this site
http://www.telestial.com/sim_bridge.php?ID=IT »
and you get the Vodafone one and stick it in one of Verizon’s ‘world’ phones will it work?
Or would you still get stuck with Verizon’s roaming charges?
1 year contract question??
Call Forwarding to local US number while out of country
I'd like to bring my Blackberry Tour to Costa Rica. There is no great International SIM there, so I am just keeping my Verizon connection for absolute emergency outbound situations. In the meantime, I want to forward all my voice calls to a US number (which I have currently done).
With call forwarding set across the board, will I be charged for roaming before the call is forwarded or will it simply route to the US number as a US-originated call? Answer could make a huge difference in what approach I use!
Thanks so much for your help!!

Alltel LG Glimmer Insurance claim
So my girlfriend is a former Alltel customer and has an LG Glimmer. Recently the touch screen stopped working and she is unable to access most of the phones functions due to the menus mainly being touch screen accessible (no damage, out of warranty scenario). We took it to the local Verizon store to look at her options as far as if an insurance claim or an upgrade would be best. She decided to do an insurance claim as she was told an upgrade would pretty much require her to change her calling plan to a Verizon plan. (Actually, she was told she was going to lose her unlimited texting feature that she has had for years and that the only way to get the texting feature was with a Verizon calling plan.)

Blackberry-Droid Facebook Guru
Another Droid is en-route. 😎
But now I've got a BB Tour and went through the FB app set up and now if anyone from FB calls me their caller ID comes up with their FB profile picture, I think it's kind of cool because it was pretty much automatic. 🙂
Will the Droid do that?
Oh man... I'm torn apart...
but damnit, the Droid is the first touch screen phone I think is good. Not eligible for an upgrade, so pricing is keeping me from making the jump big time.
Just curious... any fellow crackberry addicts jump ship? How is the device?
The biggest thing that makes me want one is I heard battery life is much longer... I need confirmation of someone that used a Tour vs Droid in real life...

PCMagazine Vphone Article
Here are some interesting items from the article...
"Saygus, a small Utah-based firm that specializes in video-calling software."
"Saygus has been working on their software for a dozen years, but never found a buyer, so they decided to strike out on their own and make the ultimate video phone."
"Video calling isn't the VPhone's only new trick. The phone will act as a Wi-Fi access point like Novatel's MiFi, connecting up to eight PCs to the Internet at one time."
"Using ODI makes the VPhone's path to market a bit weird. ODI devices don't use Verizon's stock service plans. Instead, Saygus wants to make deals with big-box retailers, who will offer their own service plans that ...

PC Mag Video
"Video calls can be made from handset to handset or to any voice over ip or video over ip enabled system."
"Unofficial pricing is $400 retail (unsubsidized)."
"Running at about a quarter of the bandwidth of a 3G video call as available in Europe and delivering higher resolution picture with a faster frame rate."
One thing that I've noticed is they never demonstrate the video messaging.
