Where Can I Actually *SEE* The Droid?

My local Verizon store does not have a working version of the Droid. They told me it was removed because they are out of stock. Ok, fine. I'll look elsewhere.

But I can't. Resellers only have plastic simulations of the droid. And the Verizon corporate kiosk at the mall near where I work too has plastic mock-ups.

My oldest boy is ready to sign on the line if he can actually try one out.

Is it just me or is that funny? I really want an Iphone, but I'll wait because what kind of company doesn't want people to use their network? Verizon might not have the hottest phones but at least they never told me not to use my data on my blackberry!

Question about another Early Upgrade

Hey guys, i was thinking of early upgrading to the LG EnV Touch phone which is now $50. But the kicker here is im afraid of sacrificing my 100 credit towards a new phone because i know i won't get another one. Would you guys care so much about this, or would you rather wait til its free?

Question about Phones and Plans

Currently I am a T-Mobile Blackberry user. I am thinking of switching to Verizon. However, I do not want to switch to a Blackberry device.

Are there any data/smart-phones that I can use on a traditional premium plan without using one of the more expensive smart-phone/blackberry plans?

Does that make sense?

Walmart vs. Verizon Store

So today is our upgrade day. So my daughter wants to do it today to get the droid. I am waiting. What is the difference between upgrading to the phone at a verizon store or walmart. I hate the verizon store where I live. So if there is no difference then I will go to walmart.
Thanks

New Devices

BGR is reporting that three devices are slated to be released by Verizon: LG VS750, Motorola Devour A555 and Palm Pre Plus. The LG would have the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. NONE is the Saygus Vphone V1 😢

Data usage when accessing email, etc.

I'm thinking of getting a phone that requires (at least) the minimum data plan, which is $10/25 megs. I wonder how long it takes to burn through that? I would only being using data to check pop3 email in the phone's email client and I'm trying to figure out if I could get through the month without going over. Any thoughts on this appreciated.

VZ Access Manager Question

My phone is a Blackberry Curve 8330. Approximately 95% of the time I have wifi to support my laptop, but there are occasions when I travel and need to supply my own internet connectivity. I know I can tether my Blackberry using VZ Access Manager, but I understand that adds another $30 to my monthly bill. If I am going to be on the road for a few days, can I turn on VZ Access Manager for the days I need the service and pay a prorated portion of the $30 fee? I am guessing this will work out to around $1/day. If this is possible, then is there an easy way to turn the service on and off? I looked at Tetherberry, but after doing some research I am concerned about violating my contract with Verizon. I don't think I want to consider the Teth...

VZW PTT phones - number of PTT Subs?

# of PTT Subs? About two dozen?

Sorry to sound like a smart alec but I say that because of my experiences over the last few weeks.
I have been to four Verizon Wireless stores in the Salt Lake City area and here is what I have found:

Went to one store and asked to see the new Push-to-Talk phones. The employee that welcomed my wife and I to the store had to ask another employee what a Push-to-Talk phone was. After talking to the fourth employee, I was let into the stock room and found a Rock. Got to look at it but it was not active.
Went to another store close to our house. They have the Barrage, Convoy and Rock on display. I had to enable PTT on the Barrage and Convoy and got to try them out. The rock did not have PTT active and I was...

Verizon Prepping for Palm Pre, iPhone, Reports Say

I really like this part, see ATT it's called being proactive. 😲

So Verizon is now saying that it has even made upgrades to its network, in order to handle the extra traffic the iPhone would generate.

Verizon Wireless is gearing up to launch the Palm Pre early next year and is also making upgrades to its network to accommodate the Apple iPhone, according to reports today.

A mysterious Palm Pre Plus is currently listed in Verizon's internal systems, according to sources close to PhoneArena. Arrival of the Pre is expected sometime in early 2010, as Sprint's six-month exclusivity over the Pre will be coming to an end.

It is unclear, though, what the "Plus" following the device's name signifies

Interesting news from Vodafone

So Engadget has this post about Voda "dropping" the HTC HD2 because it was selling so fast they couldn't get anyone to buy the iPhone (the one from crApple).hahahahahahaha I can't wait for Vz to get their version of this bad boy; I keep hearing it's going to be a Droid.
Apparently Voda's contract with crApple specified they must sell so many or buy them themselves and this seems to be the norm on other world-wide carriers, forcing many (most) of them to stop selling other smart phones in order to force the sale of crApples ****. Amazing.

It's the network

When I set about looking for independent data, however, to confirm the superior performance of Verizon’s network, I was astonished to discover that I had managed to get things exactly wrong. Despite the well-publicized problems in New York and San Francisco, AT&T seems to have the superior network nationwide.

And the iPhone itself may not be so great after all. Its design is contributing to performance problems.

could AT&T's problem be the iphone? You mean Apple isn't the second coming?
