Maybe...

Ever notice how everyone seems to have an iphone app? Maybe if there were more apps for Blackberries I wouldn't be so anxious to find another device....

Testing shows AT&T 3G network outperforming VZW

AT&T’s mobile data network problems compared to Verizon’s are mainly problems of perception, according to independent testing firm Root Wireless. On most critical performance metrics, AT&T’s 3G networks comes out on top, they say

Android dictation

Any dictation apps on there way for the Droid?

The Dragon dictation app looks pretty awesome and useful.

I looked for some in the Android market and on line but none seem to be as good as the Dragon for iPhone.

killing apps on the Droid

How can I kill Droid apps? I found an app that claims to do that, but it opens so many processes that I can't home in on just one (I think its called Aster). Why would I want to kill an app? Well, I inadvertently turned on a radio app, did not know which one it was, and could not find out what to turn off. I also discovered that I can run two radio apps at the same time and mix my own 'stereo' music.

I really like the apps, but I want to turn them off.

Thx

Droid

good news for Verizon. the Moto Droid was voted the best phone for 2009. few years we will be say what the hell was an iphone because there will only be better things to follow. then will in few more years we will say what the hell was ATT. but it just because there service sucks and they have nothing to provide when the iphone dies.

bring on the hate mail ATT. i think its funny because there is no point its all dumb and when you read this and comment. it funny because you must be scared what other people think about and have to react to save your company.

Moto Droid camera question

So I finely got my 2nd Moto Droid up and running...Ebay! 😡

But whatever. Now I've got a question about the settings for the camera mainly picture size and quality.

I ask because I've run into this before with VZW phones the cameras are capable of taking better quality...bigger size pictures than can be sent or received by others via MMS.
Basically there seems to be MB cap on the size of a picture sent via MMS, so what are the highest settings on the Droid to stay below this limit?

Verizon down in Midwest and California, how're things for you?

Hey, we've been getting a ton of reports that Verizon's network has been down for several hours in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and California, possibly as a side effect of merging in the Alltell network. We're hearing a six-hour ETA on things being restored, but we're wondering if anyone else is being affected -- hit us up in comments!

So are the in store VZ reps wrong about a new Android "coming soon"?

I am hearing of the "Google phone" now is for ATT or TM, who knows. My experience at a VZ store when I went in Saturday to get an Eris was that I should wait as VZ is def. going to have a Snapdrogon, Android phone very soon so what gives are they or not? Any of you VZ reps on here know anything further?

got my Droid...question

Well, I like it. I have had it a day and a half and it is pretty nice...much better than my Omnia was. I have a couple of questions

1. Is there a fool proof way to scroll down a page with the touch screen? If I hit it wrong, I open the page instead of scrolling. This is especially annoying with contacts. I know about the little box that opens on the right side, but that is not reliable...unless there is a trick to get to it. The scroll is much better than the Omnia, which opened something most of the time instead of scrolling.
I am quite happy with the typing touch screen, which is 100x better than the OMnia was.

2. My WiFI routinely disconnects and does not fall over to Verizon. I can be in the middle of something and lose my connec...

Is it possible to tether a Verizon phone to my macbook for free?

Ok, I need to finally know!

Is it or is it not possible to tether a Verizon cell phone with internet to a macbook for free?

As far as I know it is possible in general to tether, however Verizon charges a fee. Are there certain phones out there that allow me to get around this fee? If so, what are these phones? And will the internet run decently or will it be dreadfully slow?

Man, is Android really lacking MS Exchange Integration

I got the Droid, and for the most part love it. I think it gives the iPhone a good run for the money.

But I can't believe Google has the Android operating system, and Verizon has put this phone on the market, and it lacks good Exchange integration.

First, the configuration of the email client is not straight forward, I've read numerous forums where people had a hard time getting it to interface w/ their Exchange servers.

Then, you have to setup your contact manager to access your Exchange contacts separately.

Within your email, you can't accept calendar appoints. You can't search within email, can't sort by sender or subject.

There's a pretty good 3rd party app for Exchange email from Touchdown, but should we really need to bu...
