NEW DAY ONE FRIDAY

Looks like day one has been pushed back to Friday. Just got a message accross our "Important message sign board" That the merger day one has been pushed back untill friday.

Buying phones after Nov. 14

Once "Day One" gets here, will ATTWS customers be able to purchase phones from ATT? Would I be able to add a new line of service, if I'm an existing customer? I don't mean adding a line to a sharable plan, but a separate line.

Migrating customer's...

... Will be charged an upgrade fee... The welcome kits for migrating customer's will hold the following info about the first bill:

You will receive a final bill from AT&T Wireless payable only to AT&T Wireless.
If you paid a deposit on your AT&T Wireless account, your deposit will be applied to your last AT&T Wireless bill.

No early termination fee will be charged from AT&T Wireless when migrating your account to Cingular.

***Your first bill will be slightly higher to include your monthly rate, taxes, and an upgrade fee per mobile number.***

The estimates below are based on the highest tax/fee/surcharge rates assessed in your state; your actual taxes/fees/surcharges may be less.

No longer allowed to port ATTWS numbers into Cingular

Customers are no longer allowed to "port" their numbers into Cingular... Only Migrate... if you attempt to port a number in it will come up as in process but the port will never finish... FYI

Switching to AT&T/Cingular - Questions?

I'm switching to AT&T/Cingular when my contract expires with verizon (Nov. 11). My question is should I wait until everything is done with the merger before I make the change? I can't wait to switch and would do it Nov. 12 if everything works. I've also heard rumors that the merger will bring a bunch of cool new phones. Is it worth waiting a month for the new phones that may come out?

Which leads me to my second question. What are the current opinions on "porting" you current number over. Are there any Pros/Cons about it, besides the obvious that you get to keep the same number. Any connection issues, etc, etc.

The main reason I'm switching is because most of my family and friends are with AT&T so it just makes more sense for me...

Dropping Verizon For Cingular

I work ata wireless phone store...In light of the newmerger between ATT and Cing., my boss has decided to drop verzion to sell Nextel and Cingular. He sites the reason as that we havent been doing many new activations at all with verizon, and with verizon's NE2 program, wemake absolutely no money of upgrades...So I was wondering, what do you guys think about making this move? Will the New Cingular be better than the old? How do you think it will compare to verizon?

Att Problems!

At&t has been giving me problems non stop. Currently I have a Lg L1150 and the battery does not last a full day with about 10 minutes maximum use, and I do not play games or mess with the camera. I have been to the 2nd At&t store here in my side of town (las vegas) and they have rejected me for all my problems and i have been with them for 4 years! They constantly mess up my bill and give me defected phones such as no simcard with the phone, defected battery, defected phone, and crappy service! What can i do to fix my battery issue? I have wireless phone insurance and warrenty. The warrenty covers the battery but the guy refused to replace mine. I am tired of att's crap? Can i move to cingular now? or do i have to wait till day one (novembe...

ATT (blue) rep. I need vanity number, will give you $10 for help

I just added a line, it's for a family member who is a Realtor. I was told when I activated (per phone) to call this salesperson back and he would change it for me. He hasn't returned my call yesterday and is now off until Monday.

I need the number changed TODAY so we can get signs printed. I need a vanity number ending in something like 00 or 888 or 555, something like that. I did it with my other phone and they charged me $25.. no problem I will pay the $25 fee.

I need someone who knows what they are doing so I don't have to hold an hour or wait in line at the store.

After a whole hour being transferred to different people and then a guy who was clueless who put me on hold several times and eventually disconnected me. I...

What about on sharable plan?

Will we be able to add a line to an existing sharable plan, after the 14th? I'm just asking because I'm buying my youngest son a phone for his birthday (11/23) and I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to need to get it early. I know I'l have to buy it early if I do the separate plan, but just checking on the sharable option.

Who cares?

This forum is meant to be informative and not "bash" the customer site. If you are that unhappy about your jobs, or the customers that speak with, quit. Don't like dealing with upset customers? You should not be in the business of providing customer care. It's that simple. If you don't like how your employer does business then ask yourself why you are still there. Please don't clutter this forum with your customer complaints!

AT&T Merchandise Sell-Off

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can confirm or deny? I just got wind that this coming Monday, 11/15 when AWS gets folded into Cingular, that all items branded with AT&TWireless name will be sold off at rock-bottom prices in the B&M stores only.

I'm hearing everything will be a minimum of 50% off, with many items selling for $1. If true, this would be a good time to pick up accessories and stuff.
