Boring Nonsense

In the past couple of weeks this forum has turned into a heaping pile of smelly defication. I personally think it is more boring to read about how bored someone else is than to read nothing at all. If this is the only website you can get to because of the filter, then I pity your soul because the filter is easiliy beaten 😈 .

Thinking of leaving Cingular (need your help)

Hi everybody. My first time in the forums.

I'm a current Cingular customer (been so since '02) my 2-yr. service agreement comes to an end Nov. 18. I'm in Los Angeles. I have an ancient Nokia 3390 and I'm desperately wanting to get the latest, most fashionable phone on the market when I get a new contract in 2 weeks.

I'm contemplating leaving Cingular for a new company. Why? Well, I want a fashionable top of the line video clamshell flip phone that records video, has a camera (with zoom), color screen, bluetooth, mp3 ringtones, games, etc. Currently, Cingular doesn't have a video flip phone. They only have the Nokia 6600 and I don't want that. I've been hearing massive talk about the Motorola RAZR V3, but I don't want to pay over $300 f...

New Cingular Dealer, PLEASE HELP !!!

Hello everyone, new to the forum here. By now everyone already knows that Cingular has officially started the merger with AT&T Wireless. I am the owner of two cell phone stores here in Albuquerque, NM and we have been open for about 2 1/2 years now. I am really excited about Cingular coming into our marketplace and in the end, competition is always good for the customers. I have a Cingular training upcoming on Tuesday, November 9th and I am really excited about the opportunity to sell Cingular. We currently carry Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Cricket. We used to carry NEXTEL and Sprint, but don't anymore for reasons that are too long to list. My question is for other Cingular dealers out there. What are the pros/cons of carrying Cingular ? Ho...

Switching from Verizon

I should call customer service to ask this question, but I'll ask it here first. I'm currently a Verizon customer and I want to switch to Cingular/AT&T. On www.amazon.com I found a deal where I can get $200 back and be able to pay my early termination fee. The only problem is that when I checked on amazon to see if I could keep my number it said that it wasn't available yet. If any of you know any way that I can keep mt number but still be able to get the phone and pay off my early termination fee let me know!

I (heart) my call center...

This is the kind of stuff we get in email...

Q: Can an Orange customer use a Blue GSM phone? If so, is there an unlock code that will need to be entered into the phone?
A: No, an Orange customer can’t use an Orange SIM card in a Blue device. This is true for Blue customers wanting to access Orange equipment. There are no unlock codes to facilitate this.
Q: Can an Orange phone be used for service on a Blue rate plan?
A: No, Orange devices will not be able to be provisioned with Blue rate plans.

How many times do I have to read this?! πŸ™„

NEW RATE PLANS

I went through the training for the merger ad you really know something, I really dont know what y'all are seeing thats so differet about the the plans that the 2 companies are already oferring. Yea sure Cingular has rollover minutes and fastforward, thats to be expected that aws customers can take advantage of that. However the plans are not that much different. My question is whats the big deal about the so called new rate plans? Perhaps agent debit would like to elaborate since he seems to be on top of everything.

Simple coverage question

Hello,

Please forgive me if someone asked this already but I can't seem to find an answer. I am hoping one of the awesome Cingular Deity's that frequent this forum will be able to tell me πŸ™‚

Like everyone else by now I know about the upcoming merger of Cingular and ATT wireless. Based on the ads alone Cingular seems to be saying that existing customers will get more reception in more areas.

My question is, does anyone have some sort of map to show that? I would like to see exactly where in the country coverage will increase because of this merger.

Thank you very much for anything you can tell me about this.

Curious about the upcoming change..

First off, hello!

I live in Albuquerque NM, and have been wanting Cingular service for sometime (thanks to all of the good things i have heard about it). So, i was very excited when i heard about the merger.

After a decent talk with a local ATTWS store, i decided to sign up, knowing that i may be able to transfer my account, etc.

However, the ATTWS service out here has been a little disappointing, and thus, brings me to my question. With the new acquisition of ATTWS, should users be expecting any changes in service area, in the near future? I mean, i get pretty good reception, but there are times when the signal (or perhaps the phone?) will tweak out (electric crackle, or i can hear a person, but them not hear me, etc), due to po...

WOW

I heard from a buddy of mine who still works at congergys that 200+ people walked out of the halifx center due to their reprefrencing, and the edmonton center is in the same position right now?

ha, did they get a knew dude to do the schedules there? doesn't seem to know what he'd doing. my buddy instead of starting at 8:30 now starts at 2 every day. and they tell him they can't fix it?

glad I got out of that hell hole while the going was still good.

Does anyone want to share?

So I've heard rumors of new plans coming out when this whole thing is over with. Any of you want to share what those plans might be. I've heard their good, but to me the At&t plans are good because of the free incoming text messages and the free 7pm nights at $59.99 and higher plans. 😁

Anyone else nervous?

I'm a bit nervous about what is to come with this merger. I've been with ATT a long long while now and don't like the fact it isn't around anymore. I guess I am just going to have to wait and see what comes.

How do I open my own Indirect/Authorized Wireless Dealership?

I'm already in the industry (work in direct retail) and have a "angel investor" who's willing to fund me in opening in my own store.

I know almost nothing of the inner workings of the indirect channel however. Do I work through the company or a master dealer? How much startup capital is needed? Do I have to leave any deposits? How do I order handsets?

Any Tips/Advice/Guidlines/Contacts/Pitfalls would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

Wait or upgrade now?

Question for the masses: Currently on good old TDMA phones with ATT. On an acct iv been sharing with my mother for years now, She wants to change the plans so save some cash, and when she called in, was told would have to get new phones and plans of course. Iv read the forums here, and the "newcingular", Should we act now before these upcoming changes or wait? Personally one reason I myself am a little reserved in changing is the loss over coverage with going to GSM.. I'm not talking about in-town coverage, but outer suburban, and into smaller areas.. mostly referring to central Oregon. The family is out there a fair amount and GSM coverage there, if you ask me is a joke, TDMA at least works. Besides coverage, theres also the plan deta...
