There has been a lot of talk about the takeover by Cingular, and does anyone know when we might hear the "official" word come from the Justice Dept. and FCC? From what wirelessweek posted late last week, there might be some kind of approval coming any day now to sometime next week.

Any other opinions and news on this since we're so close to a decision?

does anyone know if at&t will be giving out the unlock codes to customers migrating to cingular after the merger.

Y do the go phones suck so bad? Are those the only options available? Or, can you get a phone that is AT&T compatible and activate on a "GO" plan? I don't see why not, you're buying a phone and that crappy pre-praid plan....please tell me there's another way.

The ad at the top of this page sometimes is for Cellular Concepts, it asked, do u want an unlocked phone? do you want a huge selection? do u want an excellent customer service?

Ok, I am jumping ship from the Cingular forum. I welcome all of you ATT brethren and am excited about the merger. Simple question......What exactly is the charter plan? I gather it has to do with with when you launched GSM? What is its cost and how many minutes did it include? Thanks.

As a long standing AT&T Wireless customer, it's nice that there has been some welcome changes to new services, like offering unlimited mmode data as an option.

However, as we all know, it's been a while since some better services have been offered, and a better phone seletion has been lacking as of lately.

It is likely that the takeover by Cingular, which is rumored to be well on it's way, could be affecting many "new" things. Maybe we will see much more coming once there is final approval. If the word comes within a week or even a month, a positive change in offerings in all aspects would be more than nice to see.

I am thinking of getting V600 with ATT. What GSM frequency ATT uses . Did anyone had any problems with this phone reagrding dropped calls, bluetooh.

Can I transfer files through this phone or no. Most of my calls will be made in the Northeast area.

Does it really matter where anyone is from or what part of the continent you work from? I seems like its always Canadians Vs. U.S. or vice versa this is just plain stupid we all work in a roundabout way for ATTWS...cant we all just get along? Also its called tolerance. Learn how to tolerate people, because you never know when you yourself are being tolerated!

You know one thing that pisses me off more than anything with customers is when they call in saying they want to order a new phone. I ask, is there any particular phone that you (the customer) are interested in? They say no. After I go into the phones that we have and the pricing and the contract options, the customer more often then not will say....I see here on lie that you have this, this and this. I mean WTF! Come on dont waste your time and my time by tring to be cute. 👿

I had a customer that called me up with a cold transfer from SST (I assume because i know they cold right now for the next couple of days because they are having a problem). This customer was told we no longer take free to go cards. Being a 2g rep i said "Sure we do. on moment i'll get you to the free to go team" I get his wireless number so i can warm transfere him and try and look it up...Doesn't come up...turns out he has a GO phone. Much different as they don't take free to go cards because it is a plan not a purchase minutes prepaid. I'm pretty sure they are extreamly clear on how to pay those bills up front. Anyone else have a problem like this? I've never had this because i'm pretty sure they are very clear on how to pay.

I'm just a little confused as to what will happen once Cingular merges with AT&T. One my questions with that is, the local plans, because At&t's local you get unlimited mobile-to-mobile and also free incoming messages, and also in Cingular you have to pay for unlimited mobile-to-mobile and you get one message deducted from you messages(thats if you are paying for a set number) Will Cingular integrated these into there plans or just forget them? I'm just a little confused maybe someone who might know could clear it up for me, if you can understand the way I wrote it 😁 . Also will Cingular get some area's where At&t does but they don't? Thank you if you could help me out.

If so, will it come unlocked and can order it off e-bay, ship it to Canada and use it with one of our primitive
Canadian service providers? (US service providers are S*** compared to Asian/European services, but Canada's is even worse!!)

Had a customer call in stateing her sons phone was dropped into water. After a few questions, I come to find out that her sons phone was on the edge of the sink that was full of water. The phone was on vibrtae......once that phone got a call, it vibrated right into the water. CC advised cust WEX WILL not cover water damage. "Well, the rep at the store never told me the phone would move if its on vibrate" I was going nuts.......asked her "do you normally keep electronic products on the edge of a body of water?!" " Well yes" of course she didnt have insurance. She fought me for 25 mins....finally had to end the constant circle and refered her to a store for a refurbed phone. Was hilarious.....she was totally serious about the whole situation....

#1 lady calls in hasnt paid her bill for 4 months. she had her service obviously turned off for non pay after 4 bills. she pays it THEN complains that her bill from 4 months was paid. I offer to give her process and research fax number to fax in proof of payment she doesnt want it. she states she will sue us for three times that amount since we made her double pay it. im like "we could have taken care of that first before you paid it again but you didnt mention it" she wants me to refund 3 times that amount by taking her word. YA RIGHT have fun going to court she bitch for like 15 minutes about how we are ripping her off and we have to prove we didnt get the payment im like no you must prove you paid it.
