more reminders

Lately, I have been recieving a daily text message reminding me of the Feb. 08 TDMA shut off. Today, I recieved 2 texts that read "Very Important! TDMA service will be discontinued." 😳
Has the shut-off date been moved up. A sales rep told me earlier this month that I had time to wait out the Q4-07 phones. I plan to make a move in mid December either AT&T or Verizon (depending on which has the best deal for 450 or 900 minutes with unlimited web and messaging). I've seen two AT&T phones come out so far. I am hoping for a QWERTY non smart phone.

Sales: DSL, U-Verse, Cell Phones? Feedback?

Hope everyone is great this morning.

I was wondering how everyone else is doing when it comes to AT&T product sales besides their cell phones.

In my market, it is a very big deal to be selling high speed internet & U-Verse, A Very big deal.

Phones as well, but it cannot be denied, AT&T is a home entertainment, solutions company, from my perspective.

Phones have taken a seat back on importance of sales, I mean we are still required to meet our New Activations and so on..

But U-Verse is the thing right now...

SIDENOTE---I have U-Verse at my house, don't watch alot of telivision, but I can say It's great because it's cheaper than every other cable provider.

Does AT&T ALWAYS follow after Verizon's lead?

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/10/27/atandt-targ ... »

Verizon offers the America's Choice 65 Plus plans (plans focusing on customers 65 and older) and low and behold, AT&T suddenly comes out with the same exact idea! 200 anytime minutes, 500 night & weekend minutes, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile. Maybe one of these days AT&T will have a mind of it's own. Until then though I prefer to be on the Leader's side. 😎

Phone for Email

I have a Nokia E62 which is terrible. I get voice messages even though I never receive a phone call - full signal at my desk. It is getting very disturbing and need another phone with its capabilities before I have to pay for a window. Need "mail for exchange" to go through our server for email. This is really the only requirement besides a good phone. Any suggestions?

Confused?

The new data commercials. I read on my way from atlanta back home in SC a billboard. It said Use it more places like foljopia! I am not kidding that was the name! Why does att focus so much on international when maybe 2% of the 67 million they have may use it overseas! Should they not focus on getting it all in the US?

Just wondering what att subscribers think. I am looking from the outside of it!

Smart phone vs iPhone vs BlackBerry

I have to admit, I get really confused at the differences between these phones and their plans. Up to this point I've only ever carried "regular" phones. I rarely text and I don't access the web with my phone. I'm thinking that I'm probably missing out on doing some pretty cool stuff, but I don't really want a huge monthly bill. If I'm interested in texting more and having a few more goodies, can someone here PLEASE explain to me how the different plans work? Example: Let's say I decide that I would like to have a BB Curve or a Pantech Duo because I like the organizer and I want a QWERTY keyboard for texting. Do I also have to get a different plan besides my regular calling plan? My head hurts. 😕

Apparently I'm a "Dumb Customer"

So, my friend and I went into an AT&T store yesterday to see if they could fix her phone (even though she's with CellularOne/Dobson) because her phone wasn't properly picking up a signal. I consider myself pretty educated in the cell phone world so I tried to do what I could to her phone to try to get it to work, but to no avail, so I decided to take her to AT&T (being a GSM carrier). When I went in, the guy told me that I shouldn't have had the phone set on the 850/1900 setting because their towers were 900/1800! I just looked at him with astonishment and said "Umm, isn't that the frequency they use in Europe?" He's like "No, our towers around here are 900 so her phone needs to be set to Automatic so it can pick up all those towers." I was ...

UPDATE on AT&T - Dish customer.

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/corporate-greed/updated-a ... »

As if those disastrous California fires weren't bad enough, watch this poor couple whose house had just burned down describe how AT&T demanded $300 for a Dish Network satellite receiver that had also been destroyed in the conflagration. We hear AT&T intends to respond to this, so we'll withhold judgment until the phone giant explains why it would ignore the disaster and ask for immediate payment from this unfortunate couple. Couldn't AT&T at least have postponed the payment until the insurance check arrives? [Consumerist]
UPDATE: AT&T responded to this post and video with a statement:
This customer initially calle...

Maybe You Can Help Me......

Dilema Time:

I had at&t a few months ago, had a family plan, and the friends I had on there f'ed it up for all of us.....(i had them on sprint before that and things were fine for 2 years).... So now, I owe at&t about 1500.00 (Bill + Cancel Fees + Taxes Etc)...and unless i win the lottery soon, I can't pay that right now.....

My question is not how to get out of it, but if I can still get Pay as you go, pick your plan, even thought I owe them money..... I have a debit card for it to be charged to.

I really miss my at&t reception. Where I go, it kicks sprints A$$ without question (I have sprint now.) I miss my HSDPA :-)

I want to get the DUO or the Q9.....
