Attention Everybody!!

Ahh, it has been far too long! I have taken quite a number of paid time off days, and plus I've been working so much overtime lately that I just couldn't find the time to rally the troops!! For that, I apologize and I have returned to continue my work here.

Team - one thing I think we really need to touch on is insurance. And not just your health insurance, mind you, I'm talking about wireless phone insurance. Too many times do I hear, "I broke my phone." "Do you have insurance?" "No, the sales person never offered it to me."

Come on, team, we need to make sure we're completely offering our customers everything we possibly can - and that goes for both COR and agents alike.

If we fail to ask such a simple question as, "Would you lik...

Motorola Q9

Will AT&T's version of the Q9 be as sluggish as Verizon's? That appears to be the drawback to an otherwise desirable phone. Also, will the AT&T version have WiFi?

Soon, we'll be able to use our phones at Mount Everest!

http://www.slashphone.com/74/8524.html »

Huawei has been selected by China Mobile to install a new generation GSM Base Station on Mount Everest. The base station will provide mobile network coverage for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay Team that plans to reach the summit in time for the Olympic Games.

The base station will be positioned at an altitude of 6,500 meters creating a mobile telecommunications network that will cover the base camp on Everest and the main route to the mountain's summit. In addition to benefiting the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay Team the base station is expected to benefit Natural Extreme Challenge Events, one of China Mobile's partners, and other mountaineers wishing to reach the summit of the world's...

AT&T's wireless unit CEO retires, De la Vega assumes title

The head of America's largest wireless carrier is stepping down from the company he's helped build for the past 42 years.

Stan Sigman, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Inc.'s wireless unit, is retiring from the company. He will assist the company with the leadership transition through year's end.

"Stan is one of the industry's most outstanding and accomplished leaders," says AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, adding that Sigman was instrumental in growing the business. AT&T continues to be the country's largest carrier with 63.7 million subscribers.

Ralph de la Vega, currently group president of regional te...

iPhone signal and network select options

So for those who like their iPhone how is the signal quality?

I have a customer who is complaining about the coverage and want to see if he needs a new one or is the iPhone just not good at picking up signal.

Also, does the iPhone have a network select option (for instance if it picks up T-Mobile where AT&T should work can you select home only or something like that).

Thanks

Google worth waiting for?

I have decided not to renew my contract and instead purchase phones as needed. Which we do anyway.

However I am wondering how many who have contracts coming up will hold off until after the 700mhz auction to see what Google does and if they win what they will offer on the open source network.
Since the towers are already in place as well as the infrastructure due to the current use of the band, it may not take two years to get a new service up and running.

New phones and upgraded plan.

I posted this in the general forum but thought I try and see if I get any replies in the AT&T forum.

I'm with AT&T right now. I want to upgrade a couple of phones and add unlimited text and unlimited data for one phone.

I've talked with both AT&T and Sprint. Bottom line is that upfront costs are about the same but Sprint is $30 cheaper per month for comparable service. It is a no brainer. I should switch to Sprint.

I went back to AT&T store to see how badly they wanted to keep my business. They would not even discuss coming off thier price. I'm mostly happy with AT&T but guess I'll be switching.

Anyone have any comments. Am I talking to the wrong folks at AT&T about meeting Sprints deal?

Thanks.

Pantech Duo

So we received the dummy phone for the pantech duo today and I have to say it looks actually quite nice. I think it has the potential to be a good seller. The only drawback is that it is a Pantech. Not sure about everyone else but the c3 was just bad all the way around for my location. Anybody know the specs on this new Duo?

How to transfer the same list to next day?

Currently I am using the HTC phone with Excel files to transfer my patient's list to next day and I make small changes each day instead of typing the whole list again every day.

My question here, is there anyway, I can use the same work or function on Pearl phone, since it does not have Excel files?

Do I really need a PDA/phone?

I am looking for ability to keep on track with a good calendar/contacts (including putting in addresses). I am tired of carrying separate Palm device. However, I have not see a phone that wasn't a PDA that could do that. Also if I get a PDA type phone, are you required to get internet access? Thanks!

picking your plan

I was talking to customer service on the phone and asked about the pick your plan accounts. I want to try out the GSM service before upgrading my TDMA account. The rep told me that I would spend less money and avoid activation fees if instead I upgraded to a GSM contract account and canceled before 30 days. I get a discount from my job of 15% using the premier site. He also stated that with a post paid account I can add or delete extras like messaging and media net each month as needed without a contract extension. I don't recall seeing an activation fee for the pick your plan account on the AT&T website.
Is there any truth to his claims?
Thanks
