GoPhone Question

So I think that I already know the answer to this but, My brother has ATT and he has had his phone for 1 year (contract). He dropped it in the lake and now it does not work. They dont have insurance on their plan and they my parents dont want to start their contract over again for a new phone. Is it possible for him to purchase a GoPhone and activate it on their contract account? I have verizon and I know that you cannot do this with their prepaid phones but i thought i would ask and see.

Any suggestions or info will help!

Thanks

Woman Sues Over Apple's iPhone Price Cut

Woman Sues Over Apple's iPhone Price Cut

Incensed Over iPhone's $200 Price Cut, Woman Sues Apple for $1M

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- A New York woman is so angry at Apple Inc. for lopping $200 off the price of the iPhone that she's filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million in damages.

Dongmei Li of Queens, N.Y., claimed the company violated price discrimination laws when it slashed the price of the 8-gigabyte iPhone by a third, from $599 to $399, within two months of the gadget's June debut.

Apple lowered the iPhone's price on Sept. 5 and also said it would stop selling the $499 4-gigabyte model. Hundreds of early customers who paid full price didn't expect a reduction so soon and complained.

Apple issued an apology t

Forced migration?

Hi. I am a original ATT customer. When I called to find out about upgrading my phone, I was informed that I would be forced to migrate, possibly in March of 2008.

Is this true? Of course, I am quite happy with my current plan, but would like a new phone. Like anyone else, I would like to get the best deal possible. Would I be better off upgrading now and cutting my minutes almost in half, or should I wait for the forced migration? What type of plan and phone might they offer me?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time!

AT&T threatens to disconnect subscribers who criticize the company

AT&T threatens to disconnect subscribers who criticize the company
By Ken Fisher | Published: September 30, 2007 - 11:00PM CT

AT&T has rolled out new Terms of Service for its DSL service that leave plenty of room for interpretation. From our reading of it, in concert with several others, what we see is a ToS that attempts to give AT&T the right to disconnect its own customers who criticize the company on blogs or in other online settings.

In section 5 of its legal ToS, AT&T stipulates the following:

AT&T may immediately terminate or suspend all or a portion of your Service, any Member ID, electronic mail address, IP address, Universal Resource Locator or domain name used by you, without notice, f

phone doesn't work in my house.

Can anyone suggest a fix? Our phones don work very well inside our house. (I have a Treo and my wife has a little LG) We live between two towers in a well populated suburb of Sacramento. Never had this problem with TMobile or Verizon, but for the last two years with Cingular I've had to use a land line while in the house. Thinking about porting back to Verizon.

Cell Sites Vs tMobile

I use VZW for Voice, and as they saying goes, you could not pry it out of my cold dead hand.

That said, I use tMobile for the Blackberry. Their customer service is excellent! That said, lately I am having service issues, even in major metro (Northern VA/DC, NJ, NYC, etc.) areas.

Does anyone know how many cell sites AT&T has in the US compared to tMobile?

Also, how is AT&T's international service, especially with data?

Motorola L9 or Z6 availability

Have a friend who will not buy any phone unless it is an offical phone from the company (why I do not know), but he is inquiring on the L9 and the Z6. I know quite a few with the Z6 and they love the phone, if it was 3G would probably have it myself.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything on these two phones, the COR reps in my area are clueless, and that is not a shot against all of them just the few I have in this area, and the Dealers I know have heard nothing.

Thanks.

AT&T in Phoenix

I just wanted to get some feedback about quality in the Phoenix area. I had a couple of AT&T phones and I had some issues with the signal strength. I work in RF and IC design, but I have never seen this issue with T-Mobile or Verizon.
Another individual approached me and said the same thing.
Basically, I can be sitting somewhere (stationary) and the signal strength will go from 2 bars to 5 bars in the space of about a minute. It slowly fluctuates. T-Mobile and Verizon show a certain number of bars and it stays that way for a significant amount of time, not go up and down in a matter of minutes.
Anyone else have that same problem? I really like AT&T but this is too stranges. On both phones as well and on my friends iPhone. Thanks!

Unlocked Phones???

I hear much about unlocked phones, but is really a good thing? I understand you do not get the discount for signing a contract, and they cost more to buy, That aside, Are they really better, or do network dependant features not work? and make them not worth getting?
