Help w/ unlocked phone

Ok so I am waiting on my SE K790 phone and was wondering if anyone had a link or some directions for the settings needed to "brand" this to cingular so that I can get and receive TXT and pic messages as well as the internet and such

It was a hard choice between this and the nokia N95 but when I thought about the huge price difference it didnt seem like it was worth it

any help would be greatly appreicated

Thank you
Joe

Nothing I can do?

I've had my RAZR for 15 months. This is my third one, and about a month ago - it broke as well (the buttons stopped working on all 3 of them). I had only had this phone for two months, almost exactly to the day. After the pain of dealing with customer service so many times, I had my dad call customer service (this was probably around April 16) to see if I could get my RAZR replaced, even though I don't have insurance. (I know it was a long shot, but we are good customers -- been with Cingular for a long time, have 5 lines, never had a problem with billing or anything. I work in the food service industry, and I've never had a problem helping out longstanding customers.) The guy luckily said hat he would send us a new RAZR.

Well, about the ...

Edge/GPRS question

Here are the connectivity specs for two phones:
1). Edge, GPRS, GSM 850,900,1800,1900
2). Edge, GSM 850,900,1800,1900 (No GPRS)

Is Edge and GPRS similar just different transfer speeds?

If you live in a rural area do you want both Edge and GPRS for increased data coverage?

I am trying to discover the difference between Edge and GPRS and how it applies to rural data service.
Any info would be appreciated.

So...

As a result the various going ons with my employment at Sprint I'm considering switching back to Cingular.

Recently my corporately owned kiosk was sold off to become an indirect store, we were not given the option to transfer out to another corporate store and our employee phones will be shifted over to a dealer plan which requires a 2 year agreement.

Since I'm not happy with the third party rate plan offering I figure I might as well spring the extra monthly fee and just get something a bit more worth while.

If you are still with me so far, I do have a question for the corporate reps, how difficult is it to turn a consumer plan into an employee plan?

Data packages

If you change your data plan more than one time a month, are you still charged proration for all the plans that you changed to?

I need help!

I am fixing to buy a new phone from Cingular. If there is a phone that is shown on phonescoop but not on cingular.com, will I still be able to get that phone through Telesales or something?

I think Cingular should start advertising its phones more than...

The fewest dropped calls. I mean, look at the N75! Verizon only wishes to have anything similar to it! The w810 is still the killer of all mid range music phones. I'm sick of seeing the fewest dropped calls commercials, I wish Cingular would just show more its products.

What is the deal with 3G!

Something I have wanted to know but was too afraid to ask:

I have a Cingular 8525 that is Quad Band and three bands of WCDMA ... does that mean better reception or is it strictly for Data?

I am a HAPPY customer also.

I was with VERIZON for 3 years and had 4 numbers with them for those those 3 years. I had more billing issues than I could count. The customer service reps were rude đŸ‘ŋ and uninformed about the phones and the plans. I had features added and removed without my approval and it took a billing cycle or two to get it resolved.

I have had a couple of issues with Cingular in the last year and they have been very helpful and easy to work with. I have had better customer service in the one year I have been with Cingular than I had in three years with Verizon.

Thanks to everyone! 😁

Is this true?

I just don't buy that...Are they having like some Spiff thing on the pearl or something because he just seemed adiment lol.

Switching Numbers When Upgrading Phones

I just bought the Sync from the website. One of the lines on my Family plan was eligible for an upgrade, so I used the upgrade to get the discounted price. The eligible line isn't my own line though.

I'm not familiar with how 3G works as far as SIM cards and all that, so I was wondering if I would be able to just put MY SIM card into the new phone. Are there components in the phone that are pre-programmed by AT&T specifically for the line I purchased the phone for?

This simply confirms why I love GSM so much! 😛

How do I explain this without laughing in his face??

C: This girl keeps calling me... I've changed my number, but she somehow got it and won't tell me who she is. She's even got her number programmed into my phone!! Do you think she could have hacked into it??

Me: Well, sir, what's the number?

C: xxx-xxx-xxxx. Could you call it? She says she's at Cingular Wireless, and she won't tell me why she's calling... I even call her back and she won't give me her name.

Me: Alright sir, that number doesn't match up with any of my other departments, nor do I see it on your recent calls. Let me place you on hold for just a moment while I place a call to that number. :::presses hold button and dials out:::

Recording: "Thank you for calling the Cingular Wireless voicemail system, if you like to ...

SIM card help

I'm about to jump from Verizon to Cingular, I think, but I've got a question about SIM cards.

I plan to get a Blackberry 8800 or a Curve when it comes out, but Cingular does not offer insurance on PDAs. I'm not hard on phones, but I do sail, so there's a chance of the phone getting wet.

Here's my question. If I buy a (cheap) GoPhone, can I swap the SIM card from the Blackberry when I'm headed out on the water? Then, if it gets wet, all I have to replace is the SIM, which has to be cheaper than a full-retail Blackberry.

Will this work? 😕

LG CU400 question

I posted this in the LG forum but haven't got any responses. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! 😁

I have been referring my customers to lge.com for software downloads for this phone (and other LG phones). This is what I was instructed to do from the LG rep from my store.

Apparently this is not right. I have returned all the data cables I've sold for this phone because no one can find software.

My customers (and I'm sure tonssss others) are wanting to transfer pictures from the phone to their computer. There is always that option to email them from the phone to their computer-but some just don't get that idea.

Suggestions??
