Are there any AT&T (Cingular) dealers in here that know whats going on with the sim cards?

Hi i am a dealer of new, refurbished and used phones and i recently came upon some Activation codes for pre-paid but no sim cards. What i've been told is that the 64k sim cards are now working just in some places in Tennesse and the rest of the south and the 3G sim cards work everywhere. This was told to me by one of my wholesaler friends in Brooklyn but he wasnt sure what is going on either. Could anyone who works for Cingular let me know what the deal is? Thank you i appreciate the help!

Why hasn't Cingular responded to Vz's claim on network reliability?

1- Cingular has more towers than them and I hear it from people that there is no difference on the two anymore. As usual there are areas where one is better than the other and vice versa...
2- Network integration was completed more than six months ago...
3- Doesn't fewer dropped calls mean better network?

Just pointing this out over here... I'm sick of seeing on TV those commercials about how Verizon has a "more reliable" network when I know for sure than in my market they don't! TDMA was recently shut down and I guess those towers were converted to GSM cuz my reception got ever better than it was last year... I have full bars throughout my city... I mean FULL bars.... The lower my phone gets is 2-3 bars and this is in a friends apartme...

Revenue/Morale Must Be Low At Verizon...

Yeah I said it, maybe if Verizon wasn't giving their service away for free for an entire month, then I wouldn't have to call them out. Some of the Verizon fanboys may say, "Our service and our company is so good we can afford to let people use us for a month."

Wrong! Companies only come out with promotional gimmicks because something is going wrong. Usually revenue is down and this way they can attract new customers, or they did not meet the intercompany goal of customers they wanted to have signed up with their service...

I had a chit chat with mi padre, who has worked for numerous Oil Field Equipment companies in many different Financial Departments, all of them specializing in different fields, and he pointed out the same thing...

Verizon to offer GSM Technology

Verizon, Sprint Offer `world' BlackBerry
Sign In to E-Mail or Save This Print

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: April 25, 2007
Filed at 2:30 p.m. ET

NEW YORK (AP) -- Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel Corp. are introducing a BlackBerry e-mail phone that's compatible with the cellular technology more common in other countries in addition to the standard used on their own U.S. networks.

One key difference between the Verizon and Sprint versions of the new BlackBerry 8830 is that Sprint's will be ''unlocked,'' enabling customers who take the device abroad to buy wireless service in other countries through other carriers. Verizon's 8830 is locked so that it can only be used overseas through Verizon's roaming service.

I HATE talking to people on CDMA! I HATE IT!!!

Next time, I'm just going to hang up!
I don't care others say. CDMA is HORRIBLE!!! I know by now it's not the phone. I've met people recently on CDMA. This guy called from his Mojo phone. (Mojo uses Sprint's network) Horrible! I thought maybe it was a crappy phone cuz after all, what's Mojo wireless anyway? Then earlier this week a family member called me from her "new" phone (ported from Sprint to Verizon) Still sounded just like before. At least on Verizon her calls don't garble, but still. She sounds so low and mumbled. I HATE asking people to repeat themselves, and with her it's a frequent thing. Now, this evening a friend who I had not talked in almost 2 yrs called me and left a message (I missed her call) and I can tell she's still o...

Transfer of service

So my boyfriend & I are breaking up & he is moving back to Miami. Right now we have a family plan. We want to do a transfer of service for his line so he can keep his service & so I dont get stuck with a huge bill. He is listed on his line as the user. He has been listed on the bill since '06- specifically shows his name on his line. He has kinda crappy credit. Just wanna know if they are gonna make him go through a credit check & put down a deposit. Or if they will just change the service into his name, since he has been using the line for so long. Any help would be great, THANKS!

Cingular Pulls the iPhone!!!!

Just kidding. What I meant was they have pulled info about the iPhone. A few days ago, Engadget Mobile posted an article which included the internal CSP entry about the iPhone.

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/04/25/iphone-qand ... »

Since this happened, Cingular has removed ALL info about the iPhone, especially the actual Talking Points, from CSP. It now says that it is unavailable. Sounds like Cingular was PO'd about the leaked info.

HA!

Unreasonable Demands

In the last few days, I have overheard two calls where customers wanted magical solutions. Here is a desciption of both.

C1 - Customer #1
C2 - Customer #2
R - Rep

C1 - I need to return my phone.

R - It is within the 30 days exchange period. You can either take it to a store or we can ship out return labels. Which would you prefer?

C1 - I don't have anywhere you could send them and I don't want to go to the store.

R - Do you have a PO box or a home address?

C1 - No.

R - I can tell you the location of the nearest store.

C1 - I don't want to go to the store.

-END CALL #1-

C2 - I want to change my plan.

R - Okay. You have the $0.25 a minute plan. The other plan is $0.10 a minute with free mobile-to-mobile and...

AT&T buying Alltel ??? WSJ thinks so -

April 24, 2007, 2:07 pm
Alltel: The Swan Song Purchase of AT&T’s Whitacre?

AT&T’s Ed Whitacre is a rare breed of CEO who’s actually made his shareholders money doing acquisitions, and the company’s earnings report today has got investors guessing about who may be next on his target list.

AT&T reported first-quarter net income that nearly doubled to $2.85 billion, helped by a breakneck acquisition binge in the past few years in which the company formerly known as SBC Communications swallowed AT&T Wireless, AT&T itself and, most recently, BellSouth. The gains have helped boost its stock price to almost $40 a share from $25 in the past year, adding nearly $100 billion in market value. It’s no wonder that with Whitacre pushing AT&T’s re...

The Ultimate Answer

"It is in your terms and conditions."

This phrase has saved me numerous times.

C - "Why am I charged for voicemail retrieval?"

R - "It is in your terms and conditions."

C - "That is not fair."

R - "It is in your terms and conditions."

C - "I wasn't told that!"

R - "It is in your terms and conditions."

C - Cingular sucks.

R - "It is in your... Wait a minute! You almost got me!"

Prepaid PINs

Is it just me or is the exchange/refund policy for prepaid PINs kind of stupid. On the back of most prepaid PIN cards, it says that the PIN is non-refundable or exchangable if the PIN has been scratched off. But in order to find out if the PIN works, you have to scratch it off. 🤨

WTF?

God, I love my job.

"That is not how AT&T used to do it!"

When I started with Cingular, AT&T Wireless was long gone, but the backlash was still being felt. I would get call after call from former AT&T Wireless customers stating that since Cingular took over everything sucks. The service: sucks. The phones: suck. Customer service: sucks. The plans: suck. You get the idea. A few months back, my center went exclusively prepaid. I thought that I would not have to worry about former AT&T Wireless customers anymore. I was wrong. I have had several customers who were AT&T Wireless prepaid who had to migrate to Cingular GoPhone due to the TDMA shutdown. They all complain about the plans. The complain about how AT&T used to go off minutes, but Cingular goes off monetary amounts and how they were "forced" to...

I just want to know.......

Why does Cingular have the most subscribers in America? Alltel has: the larges footprint, caller friendly plans, and the best customer service(JD power&associates). Still cingular has the most customers in America. It really blows my mind!!
