I keep hearing that on new activations the new alpha tag shows............so I mocked a new activation..........I called customer care and told them that I needed to updated my IMEI number.....so they delted my old IMEI and I simply read it dirctly from the back of my phone (the exact same #.....) and it took about 25 minutes....but I left my phone off for a bit and now it displays "AT&T". 😁


Just fyi for those (im not alone LOL) that wanna see at&t dispalyed on there phones because for some reason it's 'cool'......guess im strange LOL.

The Cingular site shows a SmartPhone Connect Unlimited w/Xpress Mail plan for 19.99 a month, my question is does that include text and MM messages or do I still have to have some kind of media plan for that? Thanks for any info you can give.

I am new to this whole...searching for new cellular service, but I was forced into this. I have been with Nextel for almost 9 years and since the merger (although people say it has nothing to do with it) my reception is horrible at best! I frequently drop calls (on interstate highways) and hear myself talking back at me when on a call.

I am thinking of going to Cingular or the Sprint side...Can anyone tell me their thoughts on this, as I don't know anyone who has Cingular in the Southwest area of Michigan... It shows that Cingular has good coverage in this area, but it appears on paper to look the same as Sprint...Any suggestions or advice? Any help will certainly be appreciated! 🙂

My ISP (isp.cingular)will not let you connect to the internet anymore after the ROM update. Any ideas? I've verified that all settings are correct. wap.cingular works. I have pda unliimited plan......

I work for a Cingular dealer in Connecticut and I can't get over the fact that they got rid of the $29.99 250 anytime, 1000 night and weekend minute plan! Not everyone is using their phone like crazy, and pre-paid plans are just rip-offs. Cingular would really gain a lot more business by bringing that plan back. Does anyone agree?

Hi guys! My mom is looking for a phone that has a mini USB charger like her bluetooth so it will charge her phone as well as her accessories (she is currently using a Sync). She is not interested in a RAZR. (The only reason she's going to give me her Sync is because my 4th RAZR in 14 months has broken.) Anybody have any phone suggestions for her? Mid-range is preferable, but I'm sure she will consider some low-end or high-end phones. Thanks for your help!!!

I am considering getting the blackberry pearl or the palm treo 750. I currently have the razr v3 and it is a piece of crap!!!!! Terrible battery life (maybe get 1 hour of talking before it drops a bar) and it always cuts off and then back on!!!!! My problem with deciding between the two is that I want a phone that can replace my laptop whenever I need it to. I was considering the pearl for email and then getting a palm tx handheld which i really like. They told me that i could print anything out using a wireless printer. but then there is the palm treo 750, which i am not sure that it can do all the tx handheld can. I really need a phone with a good battery life which is why i am leaning towards the pearl and getting the handheld instead of ...

How do you deal with a customer who tells you that are phones aren't subsidized? I just has a customer tell me that it is ridiculous that he has to sign a 2 year contract. I explained the details of the subsidized phone... he said is was ***** and that we are still making money of the equipment (even though his phone was $10.00)

And then I told him about the upgrade fee......

Today I decided to check my account online. I have a family plan with 3 lines on it. I have never really had any complaints unitll now. I noticed on one of my lines that there was a texting package added.

I know I never added that package, so I called customer care to find out about it. This line was only added in march. They traced there notes back from when it was added and could find nothing. How can something like this happen?? Mind you the plan was only 2.99, but its a point I was trying to make! 😕

If its listed at $319.99 pre subsidy then it could turn out to be a pretty reasonably priced smartphone especially considering it has Wifi as well!

I'm not a heavy text user, but once in a while I have a need to send one out.

I noticed about a month ago that I got a big red X and a "message not sent" notice. I tried to send again and it never went through.

I shrugged it off and just called the person.

I went to send an SMS again today and got the big red X and the "message not sent" notice. There's nothing to explain why it's not working. I had just received a text and was replying to it, so I'm able to receive them.

I tried to sent "text" to 151, but got the same error message.

If it matters, I'm an old blue-SIM user from AT&T, using an NEC 525 phone. My last successful text was on 3/13/07. I have received them since then, but like I said - not a regular texter.
