This is probably not news to anyone, but ...

the radio in the iPhone really sucks. I use a Tilt with an updated radio. My wife uses an iPhone. We can be a couple of yards away from each other at home and her connection is a problem and mine is beautiful. It's sad that AT&T is taking more of a rap for network quality than they should because a large number of their customers have chosen a nice little computer with a crappy phone in it.

ATT is beefing up network for Ipad & Iphone

This article even mentions adding fiber optic to the 3G backhaul. And that ATT is going to spend $2b on the network this year. Personally, I'd like to see them spend more like $6-$8b!

Text Now App.....how does it REALLY work??????

My wife and I have the iphone 3gs and we downloaded the "TextNow" app that allows us to txt for 8bucks to anyone on any network. We fill that we'll be able to cancel our $30 txt plan because of it.

Am I correct in my thinking? Or, will it work without our att txt plan?

Google Nexus One AT&T Edition Appears

The Google Nexus One AT&T Edition has appeared in FCC's database, while Motorola promises a new phone for Google's Web store soon.

The Google Nexus One is currently only available with T-Mobile 3G support, but a new version supporting AT&T's 3G network has now been spotted in FCC's database. According to Engadget, the AT&T version will also work with Canadian carriers Rogers, Bell and Telus, as well as European carriers.

Furthermore, Motorola recently said that they're planning to offer an Android smartphone made specifically for Google's new Web store too. It's not yet known which carrier networks this phone will work on, but Google said at the Web store introduction to stay tuned for Verizon Wireless support as well.

Does it really "cost" ATT to if a customer wants to change a #?

I was asking about taking a line from someone else and giving it to another person. And anyway, I was told it would cost me $36 to change a # on my acct. And I said to the rep aren't I allowed to change a number for free once a year? And she said no, and that I'm only "allowed" to change it once every 3 months.

How can ATT !!DICTATE!! to a paying customer how much they can change a # if the customer HAS to $PAY$?

Also this rep told me customer gets charged to change #because it "costs" ATT for me to change a #.

Is that true?!!!? How can a few keystrokes to search for an available # "cost" ATT?

Hopefully somebody who has been working for ATT for a long while will respond.

I need some suggestions

Okay, for a few reasons I'm stuck with AT&T, so please don't suggest another network as a solution.

For the last upteen years I've carried both a cellphone and a Palm PDA. My PDA is nearly dead and I've discovered that replacing it is not an option.

So I figured I'd combine the two, only to run into AT&T's $30 a month smartphone data charge.

Now I've been told conflicting information on whether AT&T will charge me if I purchase a smartphone through Ebay and just move my sim card, so I'm not anxious to try it without feeling more confident.

(I tried an AT&T smartphone - loved it - had a customer service person switch the IMEI number to a different phone to avoid the charge, only to have the $30 a month charge show back up.)

What makes one phone a smartphone and another not?

The Prada 2 is advertised as a smartphone, but the original is not.

Here's a link to it - http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/lg-ke850- prada-unlocked/4505-6454_7-32316442.html?tag= txt%3bpage

So would the original phone trigger ATT's required smartphone data plan?

AT&T is sick of taking the heat for poor reception from Iphone users. . .

Check this out, AT&T is sick of taking the heat for poor reception from Iphone users. For some reason that sounds kinda like something Sprint would say. Rather than improving their business, get rid of what's making them look bad.

Apple Insider claims end to
AT&T's exclusitity could be announced wednesday. Considering AT&T has announced support for 2 new OS's recently, it certainly seems possible that they are preparing for a post Iphone era.

ATT playing follow the leader

So rumors out that Verizon is changing up their voice plan/data pricing - how long until ATT follows suit - I give it a week tops 😁
