This is just a guess but popular opinion is that it would be devastating for ATT to loose rights to the iPhone.
So with rumors of a iPhone 4G and a CDMA version, I think yes Apple will offer a CDMA version to VZW and Sprint. But to help keep ATT in the game they along with TMO will get the new 4G iPhone. 😲

AT&T would need to spend about US$5 billion on its wireless network to catch up with the coverage offered by Verizon Wireless, a financial research firm said Tuesday.

The public's perception of AT&T's network is poor and declining, apparently because of real shortcomings when compared with Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel, said Gerard Hallaren, director of research at TownHall Investment Research. Dropped Verizon 2 weeks ago after deciding I loved the Bold and AT&T seemed to be much better with the coverage. The irony is that the day after the 30 day trial, I started dropping calls. During the 30 day trial I maybe dropped 3 calls, this is acceptable. However, in the last 4 days, I dropped at least 10 calls and had dinner at a friends tonight where my service was the only one that DID NOT work. They had Verizon and T-Mobile.
I actually really like Verizon's service, but they cripple thier phones and do not have anything nearly as good as the Bold. Am I just having an unlucky couple days? I will pay the fee and drop AT&T fast if this is going to continue.

Is it possible to download such apps as Opera mini & google maps to a phone that's not a smartphone? Thanks for any help.

I am not here to write bad things about AT&T and hope not to get s**t thrown back at me so here goes. I have been with VZW for the last several years and there are several things I dont get.

Before ATT merged with Cingulair; I was a happy customer for 3 years. Really never had any problems. Phone always worked when I needed it to work. I went to VZW because my gfriend had VZW and didnt want to use my mins. Then I became an employee and the rest is pretty much history.

We have meetings and our boss spends most of the meeting talking down about the Iphone since apparently VZW actually bought Iphones for them so they can compare the 2 services. Which I think is kind of funny since we are actually supporting our competitor.

So this looks like an air tight rumor, that the Iphone is indeed going to Verizon. I couldn've sworn ATT had a 5yr contract, which would take the Iphone to the year 2012 with ATT. But appearently not. Well looks like the 2nd half of this year will be very, very interesting!!! I wonder if the Verizon Iphone will be any different than the ATT Iphone in any way.

As you guys read my other forums I'm new to the USA area (Texas) from calgary. I have purchased and tried out Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile. My first choice was verizon, had them for 30 days as well as AT&T and T-mobile.

Verizon- I had to exchange my phone 3 times, 2 Storm 2's and my final phone driod eris. My coverage was not as great I would always get 1-2 bars and my internet was always on 1X only when going outside ill get the 3G icon. I would lose calls in my home or drop calls i counted about 4-5 a day. Traveling was pretty good when i went to houston and Austin, specially on the highways and outside. But my calls were clear and stayed connected.

I have a Bold 9700 and am very happy with it, the honeymoon is over. Basically, I'm looking for suggestions and tips that will help me take full advantage of all that the newest bold has to offer. Isn’t it comforting to know that during a natural disaster or God forbid another terrorist attack, your call for help, your SMS “r u ok”, your attempt to check the news…ain’t going to happen!
Um, ATT you just asked the FCC to cut the landline cord. Well if you can’t even offer reliable service during non emergencies, just imagine what would happen during one? 😲
