VZW & MOTO disappointed with DRIOD
The closely-watched debut of Motorola's flagship Google (GOOG Quote) Android phone is not yet three weeks along and already the $200 introductory price has been cut 25% and in some places 40%.
The discounts certainly fit the season Black Friday deals. But the speed of the move and the need to sweeten the price suggests that Verizon and Motorola aren't happy with the pace of Droid sales.
Early analyst tallies estimated that Motorola sold between 200,000 and 400,000 Droids in the first few days. Those numbers are uncomfortably similar to the less-than-dazzling start of Palm (PALM Quote) Pre sales this summer.
This is trou...

Apple Gets In On the Act

Question for AT&T reps
I understand that since I just signed a new 2 year agreement, I will have to pay a $175 early termination. My question is, will any other fee apply? I asked my friend who worked for an indirect agent for AT&T and he said its possible I could have signed a contract for the data package as well which would have a fee to cancel. He was not 100% certain because he wasn't able to sell the iphone since he was indirect.
Any information is greatly appreciated. 🙂

Court of Public Opinion - From the Wall Street Journal
By Ashby Jones
Question: When should a big, publicly-traded company refrain from filing a lawsuit? Answer: possibly when the public-relations blowback does more damage than the behavior complained about in the lawsuit.
This truism has come up across the pundit-o-sphere in the wake of the recently filed AT&T/Verizon lawsuit.
In short: earlier this month, AT&T sued Verizon Wireless in federal court in Atlanta, alleging that Verizon’s advertisements comparing the companies’ 3G wireless coverage across the country were misleading and causing “irreparable harm.â€Â
Perhaps you’ve seen these ads. I...

Question regarding contracts
Proof Positive Verizon Is The One Wrong in This Lawsuit
When AT&T introduced their PTT service, Sprint never sued them over it, even though AT&T claimed greater PTT coverage, more features and cheaper pricing. Again, the attack ads were factually based, unlike Verizon that claimed Sprint's older PTT service was useless now and didn't work. Sound familiar?
Big Red has a long history of false advertising.

HTC has really stepped up their game with this device. 6.5 is better than 6.1 but still windows...my only qualm with windows is there seems to be 6 different ways to accomplish the same task which makes the phone somewhat convoluted when trying to do simple things.
I have to admit, 3g service has been excellent. Never seems to switch to edge, full bars at work, at my friends house last night, and at home(where verizon doesn't even get service..where's the map for that?). 3g experiences definitely vary with whatever device you are using but the network seems to be there. Go at&t!
Black Friday Sales?
at&t vs verizon comparison
than lets ask whats the differences, long lines congested lines, long waiting, now where would u rather go? sure its great to go to st fair or local festival but sometimes everybody wants to ride that big roller costar and expert a long line and some waiting but the question is what do you choose? a network that has potentil of much faster speeds in fewer locations with the risk of networ congestion or take it safe and go with a company whos laid back building up a network while the other company lu...

I miss Cingular TDMA
And yes, I am talking about the days when we had green screen phones that could talk, text, and browse the WAP web. In those days we had amazing coverage everywhere, and we had solid reliable phones. I know times change fast, especially in the wireless world, but still, I think cellular phones were at their best back in the good ol days of the early 2000s.
Go phones.
I was wondering if ecyled or someone else could tell me if these were applicable go phones.

Also if anyone has any info of the pricing range, I'm going to ask santa for a phone.

AT&T Local Sales Guy Telemarketing To My Cell
I receive enough text messages per month to equate to a $2 charge, and this guy thinks it's a good idea that I spend $5 so I can have up to 200 "free" messages.
Is this common practice? Why are they not using a number that doesn't eat my minutes for *their* sales pitch?
