changing rate plans

i'm not sure what family rate plan to get. the salesman keeps puching the $89.99 but i think that might be to much. if i sign a contract for a family plan for $89.99 and later that night of a couple of days leter figure out that thats just to much, can i easily switch to the $59.99 or $69.99 plan?
if i switch on the same day, would my bill be fore $89.99 or $59.99?

thanks

nokia 1100 sim work with z520?

I got my mom the z520 for Christmas. However, when I got home, there was no sim card in the box. I figured since I paid for a phone and signed a one year contract, I should get a new sim card, right?

Is Best Buy gonna believe me if I say "Hey, I got home and there was no sim card in the box?"

If they are stingy, and they don't want to give me another sim card, will my mom's old Nokia 1100 work just as well as the newer sims in the z520?

Thirty-Day Policy

Hi Everyone. I have a question. Well I just purchased a sony ericsson w600i and I just called earlier this week to exchange it for another one because the games and apps on mine were not working and its out for shipping right now. I was wondering if When I get that phone if I could return it and just not have upgraded at all, and wait till like January until something better comes out. Could I do that? My thirty day thing expires January 2nd. So basically I want to unupgrade? Is this allowed?

F*** Consumer Reports. Here's something interesting....

"Cingular's New York-New Jersey network has tied for the top ranking among wireless carriers in its market in Telephia drive test results conducted in October and November.
Our network was dead even with Verizon in performance for overall reliability. Our accessibility and retainability metrics both exceeded 99 percent.
"After three years of trailing Verizon in this market, we are now challenging them," said Steve Breheny, Executive Director – Network Services, New York-New Jersey. "We have a solid plan, dedicated team and unwavering commitment to overtaking and staying ahead of the competition."
Telephia, an independent market research company that provides syndicated data on wireless use in the consumer market, rates the performance of ...

Fedex Leaving phones on the doorstep...

There's been a couple of times when fedex would leave a phone i ordered on my doorstep when i wasn't home.. and i'm afraid a recent item i purchased was left on the doorstep by fedex and was stolen.

Does anyone know about that whole "leaving it on the doorstep thing"? cause i thought they needed a signature from someone from the address they delieverd it to for the order to be legit cause i'm stressing thinking i got a 500 dollar phone stolen because it was left on the doorstep.

Is there a number i can call fedex at like customer care where i give my address or name and they can tell me if a package has been delievered to me, is in the process of being delivered, or still being processed? cause i never got a tracking number..

i'd be...

Roaming??

I have an older AT&T GSM National Plan, and I recently swapped out my phone with an unlocked model.

I set the network search to Auto... Like always, if I wasn't on a Cingular tower, I was SOS ONLY on T-Mobile.. However, recently, I can suddenly make and receive calls on T-Mobile. What gives?? And am I getting charged roaming??

Its time for a "smarter" motorola phone- V3i

I've heard that Motorola will be releasing a newer update to the Razr called the V3i. Does anyone know the Cingular release date and the expected price. I know this phone does significantly more than the current RAZR, which I own and personally love for its durability, style, and reception.
Thanks,
Eric

Phone Exclusives

I was wondering how phone exclusives get to be. Let's say that brand new super duper phone X from company Y is ready for sale. And we will assume that Cell carrier Z wants the exclusive, but the phone is currently being tested by both cell carrier Z and cell carrier A. Does the testing on cell carrer A prevent cell carrier Z from getting the exclusive or does cell carrier Z just need to pay enough money to keep the new phone X from cell carrier A?

Bluetooth/OBEX Question

Ok, I have no problems transferring files/pics and videos... but I know that people in Asia are able to text each other through BT. They even make new friends and stuff like that by just discovering the other person's phone and all that good stuff.... I was trying to figure this out with a buddy today, but couldn't get it done.
Does anyone know how this can be done?

Can't receive text messages

Has anybody in the northeast had problems within the past 3 days receiving text messages?? I've call Cust. Care several times and been given the run around. They recreated my profile, and did numerous other changes to my account before suggesting I move from an old ATT plan to a new Cingular plan. Which I did..and you guessed; i still can't receive txts from outside the Cing network. The latest call to CC yielded an excuse that their data network is having problems..yadda yadda. Wondering if anybody else is having the same problem????

Service Disconnect

Any idea Cingulars shut off policy? I KNOW sprint shuts you down every chance they get and AT&T would wait months is you made arrangements. I'm getting conflicting reports from current Cingular customers...

What can I expect? shut offs if not paid within a week?!

Updated RazR

I am looking for when CIngular might have the new generation RAZR (is it the V3i???) going to available? This seems to be a possible replacement phone for my existing and underperforming Motorola V400. Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks

Unlocked V3 RAZR

I got an unlocked RAZR for one of my daughters. I popped my SIM in it (didn't have her phone with me). Phone seemed to work fine but forgot to see if it would check VM.
Using cingular's help site https://tutorials.cingular.com/tutorial/web_t utorials/tutorialLogin?subscriberType=cing I was able to set up the internet access, seems to be okay, didn't really test it out a lot. Any other suggestions to make sure I dont' get some obscure charges/etc. for the phone wandering away onto some other service? We have one of the family talk plans, this new phone has per use internet & per use text message. Any other settings anyone knows I need to point the phone in the right direction? I know everything's tied to the SIM but I wanted to make s...
