Question

Guys,

I have a Nokia 6681 phone (GSM 900/1800/1900). I am from the NYC/Long Island area. Is it a big deal that I don't have the 850 band? How much is the 850 band used in this area? I called Cingular support and they told me that either band is fine. There are no such areas which are only "850" towers. Can someone please help me out? I am wondering if I should keep this phone. Thanks.

Amit.

Unadvertised Rate Plans?

Are there any unadvertised rate plans available? If so, how do you get one? What's the best bang for the buck that Cingular has to offer?

posted this in the phones forum but got no response....

i had a person who has this phone ask me are the only games available for this phone in 3d are the ones on media net?

i'm not sure i told him, but i am assuming there are 3rd party vendors or even the se website that can offer 3d games for free or at a cost.

can someone give me clearification about this?

Messed over by cingular, please help.

Does anyone remember the Media pkg that included 1500 txt, 250 mms, and unlimited web? Well ive had it on my phone since it came out, up until my last phone bill. They had exchanged my old media works pkg with the new one which includes 1000 txt unlimited, mms, and 5mb of web. Im a heavy web user and i easily go over that in a month. But i had no idea that this happened and go slammed with 400 dollars extra cuz i went over the 5mb. When i called cs they all said that there was no such pkg. Would it help if i go to a store? And please tell me that there was a package cus i know im not crazy.

Complaining about SSG??

When I first started working with cingy I hated it. Now I've realized that is not as bad as I thought.
-I can be the nicest person, if the costumer is nice. Sometimes I go out of my way to help them.
-If a person is rude, I let them talk, complain , b**ch, anything they want before I talk. There is times when costumer is wrong and if they are, I won't hesitate to let them know. I can tell you, I won't get fired if I tell a costumer the way its suppose to be. Now, I will get fired if I give them a phone or credit anyone if they do not qualify.
I rather have them dissatisfy than have me fired.
I don't think this is being a bad rep. I'm just covering my a**. 😎

should i switch?

I currently have a Nokia 6230 that I've had since about March. I like it, but don't really take advantage of the Bluetooth so that isn't a big deal, and am thinking about getting the Samsung P207 on a one year pushback of my contract. It's relatively inexpensive, and seems like a good flip phone. I keep a camera, and upgrade my screen, and lose simultaneous vibe and ring, speakerphone and bluetooth. All things i can live with, though does anyone know if the P207 has any internal memory because I have unlimited media net, and make my own mp3 ringtones.

Bottom line: Switch to the P207 or not?

Thanks.

prepaid service

I'd like to know if Cingular allows a person to choose any phone he/she wants for prepaid service. I need a backup phone as Cingular Wireless works great in Lowell Indiana, but Verizon Wireless is mediocre. Both services work great at home in Gary Indiana, but at work, I need a phone that'll work. In Lowell, only Sprint, Nextel, & Cingular work best because towers are in this town of a little over 3000, but T-Mobile & Verizon don't have towers in town yet and US Cellular is still roaming at the moment in this town, even though the company claims to serve this town. I have my eye on the Samsung SGH-D307 as a possible phone. I might also look at Nokia. I don't know what I might want, if Cingular allows any phone of my choice for prepaid....

Possible Newcomer To Cingular - Questions Regarding Service

My wife has had Cingular for a few years and where we live in Las Vegas she does not get great service - however, it's possible it could be her ancient Nokia. I was all set to go on a family plan on Verizon (always hearing about their great service) but the more I read about their new phones the more I am swayed not to go with them, however, if you read the Verizon boards they are convinced their service is the best and that Cingular (even with their great phones)sucks! So it appeared to me that one company (Verizon) had great service and bad phones - while the other (Cingular) had great phones but bad service.

So here are my questions:

1. Are there any former Verizon users now using Cingular that believe that Cingular's service is equ...

revive a disconnected account

I used to have a TDMA cingular line that I disconnected in May when the contract was up. Is there any way to revive the account so that I can upgrade the account to a new GSM phone without paying an activation fee?

Confirmation Please

Could someone please settle a debate. I have a friend in Florida who insists that Cingular there used to be at one time CDMA. I said no, TDMA yes, but CDMA no, never....can I get a few people to verify this so I will win my bet 🙂

Much thanks.

Washington D.C.

Someone here explain to me why Cingular doesn't get service in the metro, and how Verizon has sole control of the subway in washington DC?

What is Cingular doing about it if anything?

Thanks in advance.

MMS Length

Has anyone noticed that you can now send an MMS bigger than 100kb (at least to another Cingular phone), or is it I that is way behind on this info lol..the biggest I sent last night was 235kb. Does it go up to 300kb now, or perhaps bigger?
