I'm thinking about switching from VZW to Cingular. The verizon service is excellent, but I hate their phones. Does anyone have experience with Cingular service in NYC and in long island? Any other thoughts?

Does anyone have any info on whether the V557 will be PTT in the future, or what the first moto PTT will be for Cingular? I know the 557 isnt PTT now, but i didnt know if that's because Cingular hasnt done full nationwide launch of PTT yet. The two phones they have now, the LG and Samsung are sort of lower end phones, no camera, bluetooth, etc.

Is the camera on the w600a the same as the one on the s710a?

I bought a nokia 3120 refurb go phone to use with my t-mobile service. But my go phone plan is 10 cents a min plus unlimited cingular to cingular calling, which I love because I can talk endlessly to ma, who has Cingular.

So I think I will cancel my t-mobile service and just use my go phone service. Cingular, you won me over!

And! Today I bought a leather case for my phone, and the Cingular rep was super nice. Cingular, your customer service is improving! Keep up the good work!

How much of the network uses 850? I'm thinking about getting a PEBL phone and am having troubles trying to figure out if I'll lose any network availibility with it. Most reviews say it's a quad band phone, but auctions and sites list it as 900/1800/1900. I'm confused when wondering if I'm going to lose some reception in areas where 850 is only availible. Assuming that's how the system works??? 😁

Well, after 7 years of SprintPCS service, I'm making the switch to Cingular. Just seem to have better plans for my money and coverage needs.

Because of my job, I am not allowed to have a camera on my phone in my office. I love the convienence of Bluetooth and would like that in my new phone, but it can't have a camera.

Any thoughts or ideas? Your input is appreciated.

I am looking for a NEW nokia phone(s) for use on the cingular svc. Nokia 7270,6170, and 6260. Do you know if these are going to be released for the US market? If so when and will PTT work? I have been a long time CellularOne/ATT/Cingular, (etc...LOL) customer (10+ years)I have been MOSTLY happy with the majority of service, but also SOME bad...but OH well that's happens with a BIG company. I have been a LOYAL Nokia fan and have purchased higher/mid range phones only. This request is ONLY for help on purchasing/info on a NEW phone, and nothing more. I just got this phone from lets talk and it is streight from Nokia and doesnt have any of the cingular setting, I have tried going to nokia web site and haveing the setting sent but I still dont have the Cingular stuff, I need to know what to type in to get to stuff like media net and cool tools, and help would be great.

I have had two bad W600i's both work fine for about a week and then screen goes white and the phone dies. We at my office have called it the white screen of death 🙂 I was just wanting to see if anyone else was experiencing this same problem?

I'm so confused. Ok 3G phones will be here in January...an LG and a Samsung for starters. The first to are only WCDMA/Umts, what is the HSDPA...different technologies, different speeds? Also...i know i posted this b4 but will the first phones be ptt able phones...they better be. I can't stand the way cingy does things...i have several ppl that agree w/ me that cingular's first two plane-jane ptt phones are stupid....no camera or nothing. My prediction is that the 3G phones will be the same...they may have a nice camera and fast download speeds...but they will leave off ptt....um how about a phone that can do everything people want??

After having Cingular for many years I switched to TMobile. I tried 3 time to call Cingular's customer service and after taking 2 minutes to wade through Cingular's customer service menu I was on hold for over 7 minutes each call. I gave up. Customer service to Cingular should be called "Lip Service." TMobile lets you speak to a real person who enthusiastically assists within 90 seconds. TMobile has better prices and only makes you commit to a 1 year contract. Let's face it, we all want a new phone at least once a year. Why be tied to Cingular's 2 year contract when there is a real alternative, TMobile, that is coming out with exceptional phones (I picked the Samsung T809 and love it)? I just came from Best Buy to purchase a cell phone and they have the most idiodic staff in the world. One of the guys was trying to argue with me that Sprint and Verizon has sim cards. Then they were out of stock for the phone that I wanted and since Verizon had the same model, that idiot just rung up the Verizon one. They knew absolutely nothing about service and features. They had a Verizon guy (aren't they arrogant) trying to sell me service. He went on and on until I shot down all of that VZ crap they are trained to spew. I have been with Verizon for longer than I care to remember. and although I have had no problems with dropped calls or static at all, I cant stand the fact that they have no phones to choose from! The only thing that has been holding me back from jumping to Cingular is that I kleep hearing rumors that teh service is no good. I live in the MD/DC are but travel the country a lot. So how bout it? Should I stay or should I go?
